Dudek definitely makes a quality wing but the amount of accessory swag they include with a new wing is superior!

Just an Amazon 24V random brand.
I use a 24v battery on my frame and it's got a controller splitter for multiple patterns etc.
I've gotten a lot of requests on my lights so I'm thinking about going a video on it.

What is your weight that makes you over on the 22 drifty?--since there is a wide range. I am coming from a very heavily over loaded F3 22m and looking at Driftair 20m-. BUT, I don't want to give up the easy launch that the F3 has. I am 195 lbs and about 135kg all up (including wing).

      I'm about 127kg all up which a 22 is way too big. So I'm getting a 20m.
I'm technically in the range of an 18m which is 130kg. However I didn't want to be that dynamic right away, I talked to a few people who fly them and at my weight range on a 20 and found its a great balance between spice and comfort.
So it depends on what you're looking for. Do you want the max roll rate performance step up for acro? If yes, then put yourself as close to the top of the weight range as you can.
Are you in a position where you can't buy a new glider in the next few years? Or if you're able to easily sell and upgrade to a smaller one in a year or so?

      @@warrenkral6562 also, my progression was 24m Solo - 22m Nucleon - 20m Driftair.
I fly very dynamically so I want roll rate and speed on bar.
The Driftair is not hard to launch

@@PPGKyle Great info and perspective. Thanks. Good point about being able to buy another glider next year. Yeah, fortunately, I could do that if I wanted. Most places I fly I don't have more than 50-75ft to be in the air, so an 18m may be too small even if I really wanted max roll by slightly overweighting it.
The longer takeoff may be riskier biscuits than I want. I'm about 20kg over the "expert" max weight on my F3 and I have cut some takeoffs very close to make it happen. I have soybeans, wheat, or corn to clear after that 75ft lol.

@@warrenkral6562 I would ignore the "beginner vs expert" weight range especially if youre already on your 3rd wing. Stopping at the top of the "beginner" scale youre losing a ton of perf in the wing and loaded light. Its a driftair, its meant to be dynamic.
Just put yourself within 10-15kg of the max weight and youll be good. The closer you are the more dynamic it'll be and might run a teeny bit more depending on where you are in the US ASL.
I realize im 125kg (not including the wing) on the 20m but if I went to 18 I would be within 5 or even at the max which yes, very dynamic but I dont need to be. This will be a huge step up from the Nucleon which has been an incredible gateway drug to acro. My wing load is already increasing from 5.66 to 6.35 so Ill be good, and if I find out its not enough, well then Ill sell and get an 18 in a year.
Considering Ive got 6 hours on a 22m Driftair and it felt great, going down 1 size should be perfection.
Either way, lots of folks around my weight on a 20 have plenty of fun, good balance of not being too dynamic and just the right amount of spice. Im not out to do SAT's, just rolls and wingovers and playing down low and pushing that bar for fun!
Fly safe! Message me anytime, Ill have a first flight video soon.
