Sold a green MK3 fiesta and the young girl actually rolled it onto the roof just around the corner within 2min of buying it. And it was so clean as well. Still have a Mk5 zetec s which is stored.
Had one as first car, used it to learn in, was great to learned how to sand down arches and use filler, wired in amp cables, attempted to fit xr2 bodykit. Was great!!
I'm 39 and the wife said we needed a second car in the family so I'm delighted to say I picked up a 93 MK3 FORD FIESTA 1.1 lx last week and ihave just put 14" alloys red Ford badge's front and back red mats red seat covers and my favorite thing about it the newer 3 spoke steering wheel,. I absolutely love it and it gets eyes on it everyday by men of various different ages.. there not as common here in ireland, no rot some light rust on the passenger side front door,engine needs some small general maintenance, but at €440 I absolutely robbed it off it's previous owners 🤣😃
Got the 1994 1.4 EFI Si version of that car, love and hate it lol! Not very quick off the line, but once going, your at 70 before you know it! People slate the CVH engine, but far better than the old HCS engines!
Love old fiesta’s. Passed my test and went to a 2001 fiesta with the 1.25 zetec lump bloody great car. Would love an XR2i but I currently own two MK5 zetec-s fiesta’s. Much happier running them then anything modern.
Had the exact same car as my 1st 91 on a j plate 1.3 flight 29k trade in from Premier Ford slammed it on mk5 rs2000 wheels at 17 before moving on to a fiesta rs turbo 2 years later 👍
84 Fiesta MK2 L owner here - bought the car last year in the age of 22 and I love it, but It’s -even compared to its rivals from back in the day- not the best car, but this doesn’t matter because it has character and it’s fun to drive Plus in comparison to the MK2 Golf it’s not seen that often anymore (at least in Germany where we tend to drive cars quite for a long time) and people are genuinely happy to see the MK2 Fiesta And I think with the MK1 and MK3 it’s the same, but a different age group Btw I drive as a daily a 98 W168 A140 Aclass (which is a nightmare to repair and not that reliable) since 2021 -two years prior to buying the Fiesta (first car I ever bought) and prior to that I sometimes drove my Moms / Grandpas 97 Clio I always love to drive the Clio for it’s simplicity but I was glad to have the Aclass as a daily because of a “minor” accident I had … the Clio or the Fiesta would have been scraped, but I could repair the Aclass because of it’s better crumple zone So always keep in mind what you are driving and have fun 😊 Thanks for all your videos

I had a fabia mk1 classic 1.2 for my first car. Really really slow, no tech inside etc. But it had airbags and abs. That's what 1st cars are about. Safety
I own an 1993 red Ford Fiesta Fun and I love driving it 😊 it really is fun 😅 I got a newer one from friends (2003 year) and I'm giving the old one to my son in a month, for his 19.birthday as he is just about to finish getting the drivers license 🤗
I recently bought a '01 Mk1 Ford Focus 1.4 for only € 600,- and it's easy to maintain most of it yourself It's kinda like the same story as shown in this episode. Also aftermarket parts are easy to find and there is loads of it. I'm first going to restore it engine wise and some time after some money saving I eventually will toss in a bigger engine and really make it look and go fast as it should be.
Just got rid of a 1.25 mk3 for a pd170 mk5 golf after my first 2 years of driving... Power was for shit but the bouncy chassis, feedback and all round go kart style fun feel was actually great. Perfect car for ragging narrow lanes and bouncing through potholes, as you never get the chance to really get much speed anyway. Got rid cause any sort of high speed accident would just be an insta kill - there’s a reason it’s got great visibility, the pillars and panels really are spaghetti thin. Motorway cruising and tripping isn’t much fun either

Loved my mk3 1994 1.1 freestyle my first car back when I passed in 1997... I put bk racing 5 spoke alloys and Mondeo est rear Spoiler on her + kenwood sub and amp👌 they were the days.....
So true, you feel like your going faster than you are, mine isn’t fast whatsoever and I actually struggle to go past 70 on the motorway but it doesn’t matter because it’s just fun. I struggle to break speed limits which isn’t a bad thing 🤣

My brother is a mechanic and his first car was Mk3 Fiesta 1.1c bone stock, it had non of the "luxury" features like sunroof, electric windows, plastic around gear stick, notihing. Of course he used it as work car, caring oily parts in it and then gave it to me. When it's hot outside it smelled like a garage inside, on diesel, oil... Drove it for a year and sold it, still regret it, but it was just too much rust, inside, outside, underneath, I wish I just kept it until it runs it went for cheap anyways
Wow all these haters commenting about safety!! Personally I think a lot of people would drive more carefully if a big spike came out of the steering wheel instead of an airbag. The Mk3 was a good car in its day and the Flight was a really good spec version, yes they rust like an old lump of Tin but they still have a place on the road today. Simple mechanics, easy to fix and with the right driving attitude perfectly suited for a younger driver.

It’s mental how different it is, I drive my gf’s Peugeot 1l 107 and it’s soooo much faster, and easier to drive, but it’s missing the character that mine has, it’s so different jumping between them it’s laughable how for technology has come

I found it really hard to learn to drive in my mk2 I ended up getting proper lessons in a mk 4 fiesta it was so much easier all the controls were so much lighter and easier.

Lol I drive the two same car models wtf, my peugeot 107 was twice as cheap as my fiesta, that was £1800 with a black box or £850 with no black box in the Peugeot that gets 60 mpg, and it’s faster and easier to turn haha, I keep the fiesta parked now 🥲
95% of all MK3 Fiesta's have rusted away and been scrapped. I had an Xr2i as my first car back in 03, whilst it was fun it was far from a safe car and half the electrics didn't work even with a brand new battery. Easy cars to break into as well meaning most insurance companies won't even allow you to insure one unless you have a certified aftermarket immobilizer system fitted. Those CVH engines are junk as well. A Mk5 fiesta would be an ideal first car imo. Or a Corsa C.
Had one of these, 1.8 diesel 3 door 1 owner from new and it was terrible! Handled like a dog and wasnt confortable. The mk6 escort van i have on stardard suspension handles better i feel than my fiesta did. But i agree about owning older cars ive had my escort since 15 (im 22 now) and ive had newer cars and older cars but the vans always stayed, old cars have way more charector than any new car i feel

Mk3 Flight was my first car in 2008. Mine was identical J899LLE but a 1.3 version. Xr2i alloys came as standard on the flight. I put a xr2i spoiler on mine and it ripped wish I never sold it, then went to a Mondeo ST24 2.5 V6 at age 18! Gave me the ford bug though! Now have mk1 fiesta and mk2 escort! Check my videos out! 👍
Why would you buy a 30 year old car? 1. Fords of this era were NOTORIOUSLY bad for rust 2. Safety standards have improved a LOT since then 3. Equipment on even basic models of car have also improved I drove a 1990 (H) blue 5 door 1.1 Fiesta and it was a heap of crap, it was slow, not that brilliant on MPG, gear changes were horrid and stereo didn't work I then had a 1989 (G) 1.0 Micra and that thing was a little gem! Now I wouldn't have an older car, the safety of them in a crash is just not even worth thinking about!!

this sort of thing is why I got my self a Saxo as have a 106(in bits) and had nice cars had expensive car like a BMW but I missed the feel and drive the old cars give you so got my self the other type of 106 the naughty saxo 🤣🤦♂️and boy do I hate my self but in side I flipping love it
Mk3 Flight was my first car in 2008. Mine was identical J899LLE but a 1.3 version. Xr2i alloys came as standard on the flight. I put a xr2i spoiler on mine and it ripped wish I never sold it, then went to a Mondeo ST24 2.5 V6 at age 18!
Gave me the ford bug though! Now have mk1 fiesta and mk2 escort! Check my videos out! 👍
Why would you buy a 30 year old car?
1. Fords of this era were NOTORIOUSLY bad for rust
2. Safety standards have improved a LOT since then
3. Equipment on even basic models of car have also improved
I drove a 1990 (H) blue 5 door 1.1 Fiesta and it was a heap of crap, it was slow, not that brilliant on MPG, gear changes were horrid and stereo didn't work
I then had a 1989 (G) 1.0 Micra and that thing was a little gem!
Now I wouldn't have an older car, the safety of them in a crash is just not even worth thinking about!!
