Looks like the V10 will get at least one more member for its kin before its total extinction. Since lamborghini is playing lame and retiring theirs in favor of generic V8s . Its funny how the last production V10 that exists is actually Fords and its for heavy duty vehicles....

Waste of potential. An Electric powertrain would have absolutely decimated the tracks. Examples like the Volkswagen ID.R or the McMurtry Speirling which can beat F1 cars.
If the RB17 is finally out there and ready to go please let Max take that thing around the Nordschleife and claim the lap record. Would be insane if that actually happens🚀

@@akrosek15 If the RB17 is as fast as a modern F1 car then it can definitely beat the 919 EVO around the ring.
@@akrosek15they will need a straight line efficient car so it might be hard to gain laptime down the straights like the porsche but it will surely eat up the corners which can also gain a proportional amount of time, active aero elements to shed drag can further help as well… excited to see its performance and efficiency
@@Reaz399 the RB17 almost surely wont be as fast as an f1 car, remember its a 2 seater like Adrian said.
When you listening and watch this man there are no clues how brilliant he is... but if you listen very carefully you pick up the stardust! In the past and in our days, there are people we call "legends"...
Adrian is definitely one of them. His personality makes him only more that way! What a pleasant man he is.

The RB X1 is my favorite car to use in GT7 to grind money on the 800pp Spa 24h. Saving money now to buy a decent scale model of the RB 17. thank you Red Bull and Adrian Newey for all the excitement and fun you give us.
Adrian has had such a full and exciting life. RB should have done a Netflix series on the development of his Hypercar from a fly on the wall perspective.
The RB17 sounds incredible. Adrian Newey is saying all the right things. He's bringing back the V10, I can't believe it.

But it has to be a Mercedes, or an Aston Martin. So the Valkyrie could be good for one of them. Though I'm not sure it has enough space for all the equipment a Safety Car needs.

Such a great interview yet again. Loving the dynamics. She leads him and let’s him speak. The humble, wise, calm Adrian… just love that. And knowing that his brain is always seeing/designing new parts/ways to improve. Other teams have gone in all sorts of ways with the new regs and keep changing their design philosophy… which was detrimental for them, also cos data from previous designs don’t corollate well.. they are still searching. Yeah, most teams will be copying the RB19 car…. It’s great to know we have Max in the car 👊🏻👊🏻 And Andrian eyes truly light up talking abt the RB17 hypercar…. So wonderful to see… RB gives him the opportunity to take on these unique adventures. Such a great family RBR/RB is 👍
at 29:05 you can hear Newey saying what is supposed to be RB17, but the audio sounds like its saying something else in reverse, i dont have the means to investigate further but i encourage people to look into this, it might be an ARG or an easter egg

Great interview! Adrian you are a total genius, but remain humble and modest at the same time! You are such a great role model to any engineer, whether they are just starting out on their career path or looking to improve. No arrogance, no inflated ego, no "look at how brilliant I am" etc! etc! Great work Sir and I can't wait to see the fruits of of your labour for years to come! 🙂😎🤓

A Leyton House he designed broke down in front of me at French GP 1990. Even then i could see the Adrian work in it, that car is what made the F1 cars of today

i think active diffuser with active suspension but again depends what it interprets. still awesome to just thinking about !
Im a little bit worried that a lot of car fans arround the world doesn't understand this RB-17 car as it full "picture". What he and the spectacular RB team are doing here is a boundary car that I'm not quite sure for how long we are not going to see again. Will be the first time in automotive industry history that a PRODUCTION, 2 seatters-car will have the performance of a F1 car on track, AND with multiple performance settings at owner's disposal. I cannot say what I'm doing related to cars, but as a car industry's insider this man and the RB team is surely my biggest inspiration. Thank you Adrian, thank you RB team.

This came at the perfect time because it was just yesterday I was wondering if RB would ever do a hypercar. Very cool.
Thank you for giving us to get an insight into the RB17 & the RB20. Although the RB17 is totally amazing, we would have preferred more input on the RB20 as it is going to determine the level of excitement all F1 fans are going to have.

Well Michelin has been the tyre partners for every hypercar made in 21st century that are not italian brands (ferrari, lamborghini, pagani).

I like listening him speaking about creating a car or F1 in general. I read his book and also watched his favorite movie (A Clockwork Orange) and I found that hilarious. Great guy!

My previously watched video was of Shmee150 driving a Lexus LFA. This proposed Newey V10 should sound even more musical with a 50% higher frequency range.

Really? She doesn't seem to know much about F1 or cars. He's talking about down force and drag, and lift to drag ratio and how the car would be efficient at creating down force and from the look on her face she seems to think he means efficient in fuel consumption. I've never heard her comment back anything that indicates she knows anything about F1, or even cars in general

Imagine everything you ever wanted in an F1 car then combined and put into a hypercar and then upgraded to be a 2 seater and then put into being possibly the best and most legendary track car to ever exist.

Did Adrian just hint at something like an Oswald Efficiency Factor for a car around the 13 min mark? Oh dear, this is going to be something jawdropping!
Lamborghini's new dynamic alignment hubs seem fun for a car like this. If it were me, I'd REALLY try some designs for an unsprung ground effect floor. It floats between chassis and the ground. Most of its aero load goes directly into the wheel uprights. Advantage: chassis suspension isn't load by the floor downforce. Even the wings can be mounted to the uprights, it's been done and banned in racing. The unsprung weight goes up, but that also happened when F1 went to the new wheel size. F1 cars still work just fine. My hypercar or spec race car would have the lightest wheel and tire size that works for the loads. It may even end up 6-wheeled. It's been done and banned in F1, it has aerodynamic and load bearing advantages.
This man is a myth a legend a hero as a M.E graduate my inspiration. The way he speaks about the hypercar is music to my ear. Thank you Adrian. Never understood why humans are fans of other humans with Adrian i understood he is to me what for others is Taylor Swift or something …
I watch F1 more because of the technology that is involved. I love watching these kind of interviews.

Really hope the Hyper Car Adrian design will have the sitting position of an F1 car. I do feel F1 sitting position is more comfortable for driving comparing to conventional position in all current road car.

i have the same problem with doodling things on paper and misplacing them. would love the opportunity to own one (dreaming yes) and as soon as i heard come for a holiday bring the missus for a tour etc, that dream totally shut down lol. however if there is a spare seat whenever your in western australia, one enthusiastic passenger here ready at a moments notice!
so i am a bit confused with the terminology.
Are we talking about a "Hypercar" like The Koenigsegg Agera R or a Bugatti W16 Mistral but as a track car
or are we talking about the actual racing car class "Hypercar" wich races in Endurance Championships and LeMans?
Build an ongoing "hypercar" that reflects current regulations in f1 so you can research and develop different kinds of aerodynamic concepts that work on the f1 car while sidestepping the cost cap/wind tunnel time regulations

Previous years, prior to 2021, were also between Allison and Newey but the Merc hybrid engine gave Allison huge leverage tho
@Redlingstein plus the Renault years they wouldn't change the PU to fit the suspension Newey wanted. Early Honda years were underpowered/unreliable. They've hit their stride now.
