@watsimp1773difference between making a monster that has multiple outs and potentally can be beat over, even if it's obnoxious to do, vs a combo, that if not stopped *in standby*, will nearly auto lose you the game. To answer your question at the end of this video and carry on the discussion - I don't think it's either of the options. It's not a necessary evil, nor is it too toxic - It is simply a symptom of a game that's been pushed to its absolute breaking point. Consider that the reaction to this footage has been the same as the reaction to similar tournie coverage that we've seen blow up over the last two formats. First, we had Tear 0 format, where we had footage of the absolute mess of chain link 10 turn 0 bullshit. After that, we had footage of Kashtira zone lock turboing the fuck out of a guy and denying him the ability to play. Konami has since SLAUGHTERED Tear, and curbed down Kashtira while also stopping the zone lock turbo line of play by banning Diablosis. My point in bringing up this is that even though the community called for action over what we were seeing, even when Konami DID take action, it didn't change ANYTHING, it simply passed it along down the line. Because no individual issue with any ONE specific card is the problem with this game. We already KNOW what the real problem with the game is, and that's massive powercreep pushing the game to be absolutely out of fucking control, and it's going to STAY out of control, because yugioh players are little babies that are utterly terrified of any kind of change despite constantly demanding it because the current format is ALWAYS ASS CHEEKS due to the aforementioned issues. it sucks to see, because the way I figure, Konami isn't ever going to change this unless one of two things happen - either we have a mass exodus of players that sends a very clear signal to sort this mess of a game out OR the community says fuck you, and bands together to play the game in a more balanced fashion - A community made and driven format that Konami basically can't ignore due to it's sheer size, popularity, and most importantly, potential profit. I don't have much faith that either of things will happen, but I hope it does. Seeing them kind of support Edison like it's a real format does get me excited, so who knows?

Chain Called by, Gravedigger, Chain Hole (Normal traps, so can be set by Lady) or the Solemn Strike opponent used Cosmic on Floodgates like Cactus bouncer are a thing, but Konami gives a damn about it cause it's bad, and rarely used, but imagine if someone tops with it, cause opponent didn't prepared Extra for it or didn't draw the out EEV is worst cause not only is a lingering effect, but last for 3 turns, more than enough to finish the game... EEV is absolutely acceptable. It encourages balanced deck building or siding. And solitaire players with crazy end boards (me included) have very little room to criticize that card.
it's a 3 card combo I believe. Deck these day should be able to win if he/she have a 3 card combo. And the reason din kha able to do it, because he draw eradicator. It is a fairly balanced card. There are tons of cards that need to be addresed first BEFORE we talk about eradicator
Nowadays having a 2500Atk dark monster is simply to likely to have. (That's almost any mid/end boss monster of almost any deck.) It's too good. The crush cards in general are just really unfun, when they resolve and really hit you. They are in a way the worst kind of floodgate. I had once a match, where someone pretty much used all existing kinds of crush cards against me, and I basically lost my entire hand and every card I drew the next few turns.
IMO a card that give even a slight chance of not letting your opponent play the game should be banned, this card is going to be limited in Master duel just for this reason and because it's a best of 1 format LOL
"Best" of all is that Lady wasn't even included, he just hard draw it & set Welcome & EEV... No need to Welcome, Lady chain, Cooclock on hand, GG And by best I mean maybe she won't be hit by Konami's own mistakes, of overlooking old cards in current environment, or did people forgot about the Protos incident? What about Herald Drytron? Or the deck that somehow uses fusions on clearly a Gimmick puppet deck EEV isn't a necessary evil, but I speak as a casual, while on tournament people will "Call by" their family if their deck allows to... $$$$ at stake make people go wild Konami will hit EEV on MD, as "repercution"; surely that means the floodgate is handled and they won't go for Lab hits, right? right?
The card is undeniably toxic, and realistically should be banned. It likely hasn’t been because it hasn’t seen widespread usage or success, but the potential will always be there, and it’s concept is just unhealthy for the game

Are you a Furniture player too? Cause calling for normal traps only is a (based) good take...
Just for curiosity sake, do you run an odd trap that isn't seen often but at least remains on your side cause is the trusty one? Or the funny tech that worked once?
Have fun with the grind game, and may those Welcome resolve
The card is okay, if you lose agaisnt it it's just...
Skill Issue
Crowd would have went wild if the Big Welcome got hit by Ash and the Lab player lost because of it, but no one would care then because Ash is a "fair" card. There isn't anything wrong with EEV and there are far worse and more oppressive cards in the game.
Chain Called by, Gravedigger, Chain Hole (Normal traps, so can be set by Lady) or the Solemn Strike opponent used Cosmic on
Floodgates like Cactus bouncer are a thing, but Konami gives a damn about it cause it's bad, and rarely used, but imagine if someone tops with it, cause opponent didn't prepared Extra for it or didn't draw the out
EEV is worst cause not only is a lingering effect, but last for 3 turns, more than enough to finish the game... And sure, opponent could just Unicorn and go back to business, (Wouldn't be drawn, only added, so wouldn't pop the field), but didn't happened, so eyes are now over that card
But till bigger fishes like TCOBO or Gozen are hit, Konami will chase small fries until players asks for blood / justice
Bro its all about variety. That one instance shouldn't justify a card being banned. That's like me saying errata CED should get banned, because he didn't activate any effects + me not having any card to stop him. Shit happens in yugioh.
That’s what I’m talkin’ about, baby. Eradicator keeps me X-0 all day!
THAT'S SO REAL
He will be having nightmares for years
IMO a card that give even a slight chance of not letting your opponent play the game should be banned, this card is going to be limited in Master duel just for this reason and because it's a best of 1 format LOL
Keep up the content man you have good quality videos
Thanks man! I was swamped the last couple of weeks so expect weekly uploads at a minimum :D
"Best" of all is that Lady wasn't even included, he just hard draw it & set Welcome & EEV... No need to Welcome, Lady chain, Cooclock on hand, GG
And by best I mean maybe she won't be hit by Konami's own mistakes, of overlooking old cards in current environment, or did people forgot about the Protos incident? What about Herald Drytron? Or the deck that somehow uses fusions on clearly a Gimmick puppet deck
EEV isn't a necessary evil, but I speak as a casual, while on tournament people will "Call by" their family if their deck allows to... $$$$ at stake make people go wild
Konami will hit EEV on MD, as "repercution"; surely that means the floodgate is handled and they won't go for Lab hits, right? right?
It's not a bug, it's a feature.
Yes but big welcome also summons the tributed monster from GY... So it's not as much as a loss
Understandable, but he needs to get himself into another big welcome, which will take a whole other turn of dodging an ash blossom/Belle and setup
imagine malding over eradicator of all cards. deckbuild better or play a different deck
i don't think it should be banned its not that bad there's a lot worst and this card actually helps not every deck
One word: Edison
Ariana search, set 5. I would have scooped right then lol
The card is undeniably toxic, and realistically should be banned. It likely hasn’t been because it hasn’t seen widespread usage or success, but the potential will always be there, and it’s concept is just unhealthy for the game
Pfft, filthy casuals. Your eev only works for 3 turns? Mine lasts for 38 😎
Those who get this reference are the real Gs
Top 5 anime moments
Dont touch my eev, has done nothing wrong. Just deal with it or draw the out
Yea west yugi players cry a lot for anything being just a lil strong, i mean.. the other dude was playing fking Runik...
Ok in standby, with no board whatsoever, EEV declare spell, response? None because you have no board and no Crossout?
Congrats, get bent. Draw the out.
@@larv23 Bro could have Ashed the Big Welcome and that would have won him the entire set, does that mean Ash is busted??
your cards literally trash. learn some skill and actually get good at the game
Bro there is no consistent out for 5 set
As u see if ever Kastira player has Epsilon side it gonna get solemned, the only way out is blind quick S/T removal which is not actually the possible good out
Did he really say one of the greatest deck builders? Bruh is playing a trap deck what you mean
DKB is mad innovative deck building wise. Not just talking about this particularly event. I think he was one of the first with the fur hire runick deck …
It is Fur Hire Spright Runick bro and no one thinking about that
Not to mention he also invented Naturia Runick as well during tear format. X-0 after 11 rounds of Swiss at YCS Dortmund last year
It being repeatable and searchable is the issue so get rid of it
Having to put EEV and Crossout in the side JUST because it's being played now is fucking obnoxious. More so that there's an entire deck that gets to, in Standby, just set it and pop it. They guess right? Your starter/extender/searcher is gone, and more than likely in multiples. No Crossout? Well then, you're fucked.
Just play fewer spells and more monsters. What's fucking obnoxious is people not realizing that you actually need to make better deckbuilding decisions.
@@Cybertech134 Yes, play more bricks and extenders to dodge one fucking card, so when you have the one searcher in hand and 4 extenders/handtraps you can really go "Alright, set 1, go."
@@larv23 Are you under the impression that you just "deserve" to have hyperconsistency without risk?
@@Cybertech134 Random Chance is already a factor, and blowout handtraps like Droll and Shifter are things already. There's too many lingering effects for this shit to be actually fun to sit across from, because EEV is not just imhaling bad draws, it's inhaling entire strats just because it's a strong read. The same reason Maxx "C" is still gone over here, your Consistencey without Risk goes out the window when the current game enviroment is "Out my board".
Ok I'll out your board
"Wait a minute, out my board with 2 cards."
Um, ok?
"Droll after your starter, response?"
Yeah game 2
@@larv23 What you're not realizing here is that EEV isn't the problem. It's the combo decks that will end you the following turn if you get interrupted. Take away build-a-board combo decks and this isn't nearly an issue. EEV has been out forever, but now it's working cause you think you somehow should be able to play a combo deck that has a high chance of opening a hand of all spells and get away with it without being punished for your shitty deckbuilding.
Let's be real EEV is a bad card your not going to hand wipe for 6 everytime the Kash player was just salty and if konami were to hit a card it would be lady since it can IDK SEARCH ANY NORMAL TRAP CARD JUST BECAUSE PRO PLAYERS COMPLAINS ABOUT A CARD DOESN'T MEAN THERE RIGHT ALL THE TIME and this is coming from a combo player.
As a non-Kash player, EEV needs to go. It's literally just IO.
@@nightwish7074 if that's the case skill should go, Anti spell should go those cards make a more compelling case to get banned. just because a pro player said it doesn't make it right 🤷🏿♂️
@@awwready_28 at least Anti spell can be killed by an MST - Cosmic Cyclone - Twin Twisters
Not saying that it should stay, bc floodgates are problematic, but Continous Trap floodgates at least can be contested while EEV and D Barrier cannot
Then Evenly should go, every floodgate should go, thats why western yugioh gets borring, players just cry and want everything ban... Meanwhile in Japan we have max c challenge
@@gawrshurab1035I agree but tcg does a horrible job managing this
I love and continue to love ocg but if we can't transition to that then tcg needs to change something up
EEV is a necessary evil in the game due to floodgates and trap decks change my mind
dude the deck that was playing it is ITSELF a trap deck
@@Alessandro-rn8tp yet the same EEV it played can be used against it. You could make that argument for most staples in the game so should those be banned as well?
@@kevinlee5753 are you also used to say "Maxx c keeps combo decks in check"?
@@Alessandro-rn8tp nope because combo decks also use it so it doesn't do anything to stop combo decks. If anything combo decks gain more momentum from it than rogue decks just because of the power level
This was RNG
Personally, I agree, just facilitating a discussion :)
It's a card game.
NOWAY Yugioh is RNG OMG
Branded Fusion is worse, they should ban Branded Fusion
Such a fair and balanced card.
I hate how the crowd claps and the commentators are so excited. That kind of yugioh deserves 0 applause and 0 excitement, it was actually a pathetic demonstration of one of konamis many, many mistakes. Literally took 0 skill to flip EEV, dinky boy didn't deserve to be the champ. Dinks skill consisted of this the entire tournament: FLIP FLOODGATE. Wow, I'm just so impressed.
Fix your game konami...
To be "fair", Kashtira is way more hated with their in-build of banish face-down, from deck, field or extra zone, and don't forget the good old zone lock + Macro... Who doesn't love Macro? (Just overlook that rare Methaphys player)... that could explain why the cheer happened
But another explanation is that the game is being played as Konami intended, or why so many negation and floodgates still exists and are encouraged?
Fk floodgates, literally are the non spormanship representation of this game, as that opponent will do anything is needed to win
Are you under the impression that combo players just deserve to have their hyperconsistency be mandated by Konami? You know there's a risk to having your deck rely on so many spells to be consistent, right? It's called a trade-off.
He just got lucky, if his opp opened fenrir or unicorn hes ded
That’s a damn good balance. I’m tired of seeing one spell card shoot off a combo that’s ends a board with 4 interruptions turn one. 🤘🫨
