I think the one and a half hour drive outta the way was well worth it to see Mr. Cornwallis Bunyan...💯✔️ I also enjoyed seeing the little Chapple too...❤️
That taxidermy display was amazing. They really did a great job putting those things in life-like, dynamic action poses. I love dioramas that include a look under water.
It was great to see you in our home state of Minnesota! You were sooo close to the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Itasca. It was only 30 miles from Bemidgi.
Minnesotan here. I have pictures of me and my DH at those cut outs in Treasure City. Too fun! P.S. It's the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Jacob and Bemidji is pronounced Buh-midge-ee ; )
Paul Bunyan is the man!! Growing up I felt the same way, they really should do a new movie on him. Your excitement in each of your videos is the reason I come back. Our family just loves weird & wacky places.
Awh man! I am so sad I missed you while you were here! I told myself I'd catch you next time you came around lol but I am glad you had such a great time visiting the wonderful state of MN! :)
Welcome to Minnesota! You almost pronounced Bemidji correctly, it’s closer to sounding like ‘Bahmidge’. You’ve seen more of the area then I and I went to high school close to Bemidji.
From Minnesota here....the Paul Bunyan Center that used to be in Brainerd was a terrific place to take kids with an animated and speaking Paul gian statue as you entered. Catails are also refered to as Paul Bunyan wiskars. The headwaters of the Mississippi River is actusly in Itasca Mn. The way we pronounce Bemidji here in Mn is "Burr-midji" for how cold it gets in the winter.
Thanks for the video Jacob. Don't believe that Paul Bunyan is dead at the "Paul Bunyan Memorial Park" you visited. Paul is alive and still entertaining the youngsters at Paul Bunyan Land in Brainerd, Minnesota where you once visited him. I love visiting Paul there.
Welcome to Minnesota. Its not as cool as other states but were proud of Paul for carrying Minnesota on his back. everyone should just move to Minne tbh
I've been on a big Paul Bunyan kick, so this was fun. It was neat to see my home, Winona, featured prominently in that fireplace. I'll definitely be checking out your older Paul video.
That was really fun to watch! I'm from Minnesota and I had no idea that we had all of that Paul Bunyan stuff. I was really surprised that there's a gravesite. Next time I'm in your live stream I leave a little something for gas money. I know that was a lot of driving.
Hi Jacob, loved this little reminder of a Great fabled man. So much so, when I got done I searched TH-cam and FOUND the original 1958 Walt Disney's Paul Bunyan. I grew up with this, it will always be my Favorite rendition of the story of Paul. By the way, I believe Babe was male, according to that cartoon anyway. Not real sure, lol. Keep on keepin' on Jacob! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't know about that being the world's biggest Paul Bunyan statue. The one at Klamath CA. at Tree's of Mystery Is a lot bigger I do believe. And Babe is standing right next to him is just as big. Paul even waves his hand and speaks if they have someone operating him when you're there. They also have a trail that has some amazing tree's that grow in odd ways. And along the trail they have chainsaw carved depictions of his friends and his story. As well as a narration that goes with it as you walk along
IIRC The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago used to have a section on Paul. I recall a cabin you'd walk into that was angled as Paul had picked it up and was looking in one of the windows.
Great to see you stomping around many MN points of interest. Seems like a return trip has been long overdue. I've got a feeling you're headed to a point about 7 miles from a cabin I stay at every summer.
We don't have a Pigeon Forge, or whatever it is called. We don't have a Wisconsin Dells. But I, for years, have though that all the travels across America have neglected a lot of treasures in northern MN, as well as the metro area and areas of Wisconsin. I know Jacob has been here before, and others have, too. But it seems like our northern location and climate results in less exploration than states like Illinois, Indiana or Missouri. Great to see Jacob hitting up these nifty outposts of Minnesota. While he is in the metro area I'm hoping he'll check out Hot Sam's. It's an art park, essentially, and it's nifty. That's the one place in the metro I'd vote for over all others.
I tell people Minnesota is an underrated tourist location and while working at Hard Rock at Mall of America I've heard many out of towners agree with me.
@@michaelrodriguez2784 irony, I just left Mall of America, where I only learned a couple of months ago that the hard rock is now gone. Not shocked, given the current climate, but I was there more than once, although for work-related purposes. Given we get less pass through traffic than states to the south, it's not a shock we don't have as many roadside attractions to choose from in these parts, but as Jacob has proven on his trips in the past, there are still plenty to be found. I hope we see more of them from him in the future.
You should go to Northern California and check out the Trees of Mystery! They have a HUUUUUGE Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox Statue and a gondola ride through the redwoods. It’s located in Klamath, CA I believe
Oddly enough I think I was exposed to Paul Bunyan through that Disney cartoon about him that was made in what the sixties or seventies? But yeah that little cartoon made me love Paul and his big blue ox.
I remember seeing a lot of Paul Bunyan statues on the West Coast during the 80's. Oregon and Washington mostly. I think that most of those Paul Bunyan's are gone now.
Paul Bunyan is also part of French Canadian culture too. There’s a few statues of him up here. A 20 foot one in Porquis Junction Ontario and one in BC called Sam the Ax Man. He’s basically Paul. The Porquis one is Paul.
Jacob for some fun, you should take that picture of you on Paul's lap, have a viewer contest to make a funny but not filthy caption and make it a Carpetbagger merch postcard. Just an idea. Great video as always!
In my hometown back in the day we had a restaurant called East Park that had a Paul Bunyan Burger. It was like a Big Mac but twice as big. They were so good! Alas the place was torn down to make a gas station. ☹️
Jus to get too Brainard from the Iowa state line is forever. Used to go fishing up there every yr with my father an younger brother, Toby, who passed of brain cancer in dec 2014. Haven't been up there since.

Welcome back to Minnesota. We do love Paul Bunyan here.
That taxidermy display was amazing. They really did a great job putting those things in life-like, dynamic action poses. I love dioramas that include a look under water.
Rest stop taxidermy! Cordwood Pete! Fireplace of the States! The grave of Paul Bunyan! What a video, really enjoyed it. Appreciate your dedication.
It’s the land of 10,000 lakes. Love your shows. Fun to see you in Minnesota
Welcome to Minnesota! Born and raised here, Paul Bunyan brings back wonderful childhood memories. Thanks for sharing. Excellent video
That’s a LOT of driving! Thank you Jacob for doing the heavy lifting.
As a born and raised Minnesotan I love this video!
Yay you're in Minnesota! We are the best state ever lol woot woot!! Hope u have (or had rather) a great time. 😁👍👍

Thanks for the history of Paul great video Jacob
I knew Paul Bunyan from your channel, and love him since! Thank you for the hardwork for this video, Mr. Jacob! A really wonderful trip!

There's a huge Paul Bunyan in the Mall of America on the flume ride.

That mini Paul is hilarious on the dash, and in other photo ops, lol love it! Say cheese little Paul! Lol

Such wholesome content
It’s so cool 😎 that Paul Bunyan had a beautiful family and detailed on everything he did growing up
Good morning Jacob Thanks for the trip.
This is my kind of content! Always love your videos 😊
Never been this early, keep up the great work, and to everyone reading this. Have a great day :)
Lol. I want to see the composite photo with your face in every position of the photo-op.
PAUL FREAKIN' BUNYAN - LOVED the show you've made of MIGHTY PAUL
Cool vid. Love these roadside attractions

Eau Claire has a pretty solid Paul Bunyan statue near their heritage museum, and is a short drive from the Minnesota border.
Your a Good man Jacob!
Love seeing all the Paul Bunyan Statues but I think you need to look up the start of the Mississippi River in Itasca State Park
Cord wood is also a measurement for stacking firewood.
And here I thought Paul Bunyan was just Minnesota lore. The stories fascinated me as a child.
ty for telling about his story
thanks from 🇮🇹
Welcome to Minnesota. Its not as cool as other states but were proud of Paul for carrying Minnesota on his back. everyone should just move to Minne tbh
Your right. Its cooler.
I heard the Bunyan legend growing up, but I never heard this much detail. Interesting 🤔

Cool episode. Wouldn't want to be there in February!
Born in VA this was one of my favorite stories as a child.
There is a Paul Bunyan statue at Enchanted Forest in Old Forge NY along with tons of other fiberglass characters!

Land of Lakes butter is my favorite!
Maybe you can complete the mythology trinity with John Henry and Pecos Bill. Oops, I see you did an earlier John Henry statue video a few years ago.
Not to throw shade on Lumberjacks, doing the work of 2 lumberjacks is nothing to be ashamed of. That is work in its self to be proud of!

Good to see the Bemidji Bunyan's arm has been repaired.
"That's a license to print money." This joke made me laugh, and I rarely laugh while watching videos.
The Bemidji Paul and Babe are my favorites.

Jacob, there's a Kewpie Doll museum outside of Branson, MO at the birthplace of the creator, Rosie O'Neiil.

Hi Jacob 🙋🏽. Didn't you do a Paul Bunyan tour before ❓🤔 never mind, you just answered my question.😃 Really Jacob 😂😅😂🤣😅😂😁 LoL.
I like how everyone agrees that every Paul Bunyan statue should have the same type of plaid on. Is that on purpose or just happy coincidence?

The Simpsons did an episode where Homer was portrayed as Paul Bunyan
