It's awesome to see artists doing tutorials, it sounds really great! Thanks for sharing, it's such a refreshing change from the pointless reviews by TH-camrs.
I'm only 7 minutes in and I already learned so many tricks and valuable information. Like controlling the kick low-end, using portamento for the rumble and how to monitor the master output level. This video is an absolute goldmine of helpful knowledge. Thank you so much, you are a legend
Thanks! I try to keep it as BS free as it can get. I felt like I had to share this information because of my experience on playing in clubs and big systems over the last few years
@@slavasolomaAuf jeden Fall mega, dass du deine Erfahrung weitergibst. Finde deine Videos echt super hilfreich, glaube alle Anfänger machen ähnliche Fehler 🙏
Thank you for watching. Elektron workflow has to be learned and you need some time with it. After 5 Years I am confident enough with the DT2 to put out some Tutorials and I don't even use most of the stuff they offer.
Yeah I used this trick on the DT1 for years to see if my Patterns are clipping or not. You have to mix as hot as possible to keep the noise floor on external Mixers at a minimum or if you use the OT as a Mixer. The preamps on the OT can get quite noisy if turned up too much.
you're welcome! Low end was a big problem for me too until I startet to play live techno in clubs! The experience made me rethink my production and mixing workflow
Freut mich, dass du gut as mitnehmen konntest.
Hey thanks! Many stuff could be done on the DN2 as well. I just need some time to gel with it and get my workflow going. Haven’t explored the sound engine to the extent that i could make a tutorial
Hello. Nice video. I have a Rytm Mk2 and Four Mk2..., and I finish my productions in Ableton normally, although I would like to get complete tracks on these machines. I had also thought about including a DT2 to the set to have more play. Thank you for this tutorial. ❤🔊🔊
Thanks! If you want to make whole Track the DT2 is maybe the most complete machine. If you sample stuff from your other hardware it becomes the main hub to finish them.
@ Do you think you can make totally professional productions with an Elektron system? Or on the contrary is it always necessary to finish the projects in a DAW to get a really good sound?
@@stereohertz I just record my master straight into my phone for Jams. If you want to release that stuff professionally I would recommend at least take a listen in the DAW or send it to someone for mastering to watch your loudness so it stays competitive. Some Compression and final EQing to make it sound good on most systems is necessary too . Hardware Monitoring, EQs and Comps just cost too much so a DAW is the cheapest solution for most of us
Really cool video mate! In what frequency do you cut the bass from the "rumble" sine wave? because if you use just a sine wave there is only one harmonic which can be balanced just from the volume knob. Maybe you could do a whole video on this specific issue! it would be nice to see some actually usefull information about the bass frequencies in a techno song as its an issue to almost all artists who don't have any experience with their music played on club soundsystems!
hey, i struggle with learing ableton daw.. 20hrs + and i cant make any sufficient sound.. im thinking of getting kinda this setup like urs and maybe start form here?? what do u recommend?
tbh I need like 2-4 years to learn producing in Ableton. First is to learn your tools. Hardware based production can be challenging and I started with it after 10 years making music. I would recommend to learn synthesis at first with some software making basic tracks and finish as many tracks as possible even if they may be something you don't like
Hi. It's a habit from DT1 as you have the global Mixer so I can balance my stuff while sound checking in the Venue. This is How I work in Ableton live too. I use the Volume faders only on final mixing stage. Most leveling gets done with Clip Gain or Utility device
Thank you! I really appreciate! I have a DT1 Project on Gumroad and Bandcamp with some Custom Samples. The DT2 one will be online, when I am done with this Series. great tip on the monitoring for loudness

basic, super important, really good stuff 👌👍
Thanks! I tried to focus on the important stuff and not to lose myself in the Sauce.

Good video, thanks! ❤
Thank you too!
Thank you for this video, I really learned a lot about techno itself from this video!
Thank you! I'm happy that you learned something from it.
Cooles Video 🔥 jetzt hab ich wieder etwas GAS 😂

Really helpfull and intresseting to see an artist making good music.
Maybe other style of music next Time, like acid or idk
🔥
Hey vielen dank für das Video. Ist mal wieder top. Ich konnte wieder etwas dazu lernen und freue mich auf weiteres
Gerne mein Guter 🙌🙏
❤❤❤cool cool❤❤❤
Thanks!
It's really good content! It feels like my favorite techno. I'm using the same equipment, and I think it'd be nice to show it with digitone

there will be definitely some more in the future. Had to recover from a cold so no video this weekend. But I have something interesting planned

I suggest on the OXI seq 1 & 2 multitrack and seq 3 & 4 mono??
1 is MULTI and 3-4 is MONO as the DT2 does not have polyphony. But you could kind of do sudo polyphony with the MULTI and 2-3 TRACKs on the DT2
Why do you keep all levels to the max and control each track from the AMP env “volume”?

@ makes sense. Especially in relation to how we use volume control in ableton
Did you say you have a Gumroad account we can access for samples, projects?
This is a great tutorial!! I love your sound
