  • Botín Restaurant has kept the flame burning for the past 293 years … literally. Ever since the doors opened in 1725, the oven has been sizzling continuously, never to be extinguished. According to deputy manager Luis Javier Sànchez Alvarez, the oven is the crown jewel of the restaurant and the fundamental element of their most popular dish, the roast suckling pig. The recipes used today have been passed down from generation to generation, keeping the legacy of these traditional dishes alive. With the honor of being the oldest restaurant in the world, Alvarez hopes to keep the doors open for centuries to come.

      @@Booklat1 Actually, ironically the "Spanish flu" did not originate in Spain, It so happens that the Iberian Nation was the only neutral large European power during the war, which means it had a less restrictive press. so it was practically the first to report major outbreaks of the virus. hence why people started calling it the Spanish flu.. so, no it probably did not close, since there were no major lockdowns in cities back then. ohm and the virus probably originated from the US mas conscription military camps in the midwest.

I have no idea about its story, but I can tell the fact that this old half-timbered house is still standing in the middle of the city centre here in Frankfurt is mindblowing to say the least. To think the pub might be as old as the building itself is another crazy fascinating thought. Would be cool if it's true!

    • @chewie2055
      @chewie2055 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Simply Sasuke Aging changes wine, but does not categorically improve it or worsen it. Fruitiness deteriorates rapidly, decreasing markedly after only 6 months in the bottle. Due to the cost of storage, it is not economical to age cheap wines, but many varieties of wine do not benefit from aging, regardless of the quality. So it is probably vinegar by now

    • @alejandroojeda1572
      @alejandroojeda1572 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lich6241 It Will only go rancid if no care IS put into mantaining It. Spanish wine and by extension european wine IS closed with Cork caps. The problem IS those caps only last so long, depending on the quality of the Cork they can last years, but obviously not 300. So you have to change the CAP every so often or It Will disintigrate and let too much oxygen inside which Will sour the wine....you'll basically get vinegar.
