Thanks for doing these videos! This is the only detailed walk around of the dw10 engine i have found. We have a 5008, thats the first time i have actually seen the turbo i have😂.
Good video, interesting the EGR is on the front right, I need a Haynes manual as I became the owner of a C5 with this engine. Did a full service on it (oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, cabin pollen filter, new rear engine mount) but it is not as efficient as I expected. Also stalls easily from cold start with laggy performance for a short while, fault code reader (cheap non sophisticated OBDii) gives P050B fault stating "ignition timing, cold start - performance problem". Googled P050B fault and it states multiple possibilities - camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, throttle sensor, check electrical wiring etc. Also get the 'invalid oil level reading on start-up, engine took 6.2 litres to get it to read the minimum on the dipstick leven and I refused to put in any more as too much can do damage! Would love to sort this out as otherwise it is a lovely smooth and fast car when to need it.
Nice video, i have same engine and issue with turbo vnt , its dusty/seared/baked and sometimes i have error registered when im doing high boost. It need be cleaned, im thinking if its possible to put turbo cleaner inside turbo without dismounting it.I know that can be very hard. But dismount half of car (suspension, fap, exhaust) will be more painfull.
Hi. Thanks. By the way, mine has exactly the same problem... i am living with it almost five year :) i will definetaly try removing the turbo and clean it in spring/summer, because it is getting worse, especially on hot weather.
@@rustoil I have this error only during summer on highway railroad when engine is very hot. Also for 3 years now. Usually once a month, but once during driving by 8hours in row i had it 6times in row during speeding up. I was thinking about dismount exhaust pipe only and put some cleaning foam for ovens inside, like other do when you have direct connection from egr to turbo. In this model connection egr - turbo is through engine and easy cleaning is immposible :/
Yeah, in 50km I can get two or three cut offs of the turbo, lexia shows overboost error... i agree that it is not easy on this engine to get to the turbo, but i have seen that it can be removed with exhaust taken off, no need to dismantlle the suspenssion atleast.
@@rustoilFinally i have fixed this issue with overboost. Replaced turbo myself (lot of work..... i bought new OEM one). Apart of overboost gone - now engine is more flexible! It really make difference with boost. In old turbo VNT was little jammed.( it was easy to see it on bench and compare with new one).
Yep, I have replaced the turbo one and a half year ago. After that no overboost ocoured. Old turbo vanes very not stuck, but in opposite - very loose, so, under the boost they were getting stuck due to play they had.
This engine is produced from 2009. Its is coded dw10cted4, older engine dw10bted4 has egr on the back of the engine. This one is quite different than yours.
Hi. I dont exactly remember, but about 150e with gearbox. Gearbox is still sitting in the corner in case I will find time for it to be dissasmebled, seals replaced and on to the car, because mine is not properly working, but still drives. This engine has about 250kkm I think.
Great tear done video of this type of engine. it looks like you know a lot about these peugeot engines do you happern to know what will cause a P 2562 code on a very low milage engine of this type ? Thanks
Hi, thanks for comment. This error means that something is wrong with the feedback signal. It can be faulty wiring, problem with the position sensor on the turbo variable geometry actuator.
@@rustoil thanks for your reply can you tell me if I need to access this from the top of the engine or under the car as it does not have a lot of room in the engine bay (2015 RCZ)
My car is Ford Focus and has this engine, 200,000km and no issues. Very good engine usually.
Yes, mine has already 350+kkm and runs fine.

Subscribed and 👍 because your overlays on the video is good when describing bits, and your English is easy to listen too.

Great video! :D love it!
Чудова покупка!
Are you sure about the solenoid? I replaced the one on the other side because of too much boost and that helped!
Can you tell me where the glow plugs are fitted in this type of engine ? Thanks
Hi. Check the dissamsembly video in my channel, I have shown it visaully ;)

Thanks just watched it and can now see them Thanks
Really good tear down! How many miles/kilometres were on this engine? What year?
Hi. Thanks. It had about 240kkm...

what price did you get this engine for please and how many miles has the damaged engine done

What were your problems with your gearbox? You said 2/3 and 4/5?
Yes, shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th are not smooth, auto neutral engages very sharply. New valve body did not help...

Well, for the C5 turbo with that acturator/sensor can be accesed only from the botom, firstly removing the exhaust.

Hi there can you tell me if these engines have a 02 sensor fitted to them ?
Yes, it has O2 sensor. It is mounted into the catalytic coverter case - that smaller unit mounted first onto the turbo.
@@rustoil do you have a picture of it by any chance ?
@@marke293 yes, I have. I can send it to your email.

Yes, these are good engines if oil is changed at time.
