Reviving Hpi RS4 Nitro after storage. Getting it up and running again.

- This was my 1st nitro RC car that i purchased 16 years ago brand new.
Car has been in storage for last 2 years but have always taken care in looking after. Nitro engine can be tricky to get running right, and alway require regular maintenance.
Also always use after run oil.
Just a video showing what i do to get the car running after storage.

NITRO!!!!..... looked like it was running spot on! Shows that looking after your Nitros is worth while!
this hobby nitro or electric doesnt come with just the driving part.
keep any RC car clean and its worth while!

I just found mine. I had half a tank on mine then the arm to the carb became loose and it opened throttle until I shut it down. I packed it up 12 yrs ago and just found it haha

I got a rs4 racer 2. The os max .15 I got in it are bulletproof engines. I can.let it sit for years wirh the fuel drained out obviously fill it up riip the pull start and she fires rite up. Badass cars
I have one in storage time to get back and start that engine!!!
Going thru this with my super nitro rs4 also. Actually my motor was frozen and air filters completely deteriorated, I was able to open the motor, free it up and get it running like a champ again.
Glad to hear that. Nothing worse than a seized engine. That's why after run oil is so important...
I will buy your super nitro rs4 off you if you are willing to get rid of it, I have been looking for one

2:08 I assume you did the same as me and stole that bit off a Kyosho haha. So much better than the original HPI brake system that would stall my engine.
I'm not sure where I got the idea from? But definitely fixed the problem of the engine stalling.
Hi, new to vintage nitro. I have just bought an RS4. In you video you mentioned a cut off which applied brake if batteries died. Where/who make them and is it an easy upgrade?
Hi. Yes it's called a failsafe. It's around £10 and is very easy to set up. It just plugs into the receiver. Modelsport UK sell them. Hope this helps.
