Thanks for watching and the kind comment. I was very happy with how the body cleaned up, never could have imagined finding one so nice but I got lucky.
Nice find! I had the first one and was ripping up and down the main street. A car was coming so I gave it throttle to get out of the way. Then I lost steering response, the radio batties had died and the throttle was open! It was gaining speed toward me so I thought I could kick it over to stop it. As I was about to kick the 4 tec, it went into second gear. I could only watch it speed off into the distance going around 50mph.
That is very unfortunate but I can't lie that story had me spit out my milk, that is hilarious, did the car still work whenever it decided to stop or what ended up happening? I can only imagine how scary that would be these things are like missiles when you have a runaway like that. Good thing you didnt try to kick it or you probably would have lost your foot to a Traxxas. I'd love to hear the extended version of this story!
@@that3ggt It hit the curb causing front-end damage, the cooling had taken a beating and broke the crankcase just under the cooling head. I had planned on fixing it but a few months later I was gifted a rc10 gt2. Haha, it was a great leaning experience and kept me in the rc hobby till today.
A great buy and lets see a run video. Nitro is more fun for me the sounds and smells just makes it a different experience. The only thing is the tuning, but hese days a quick video amor two and you will be on to it enjoy.
Thank you! I was even gonna be happy just finding one with that 2.5r even those are great little motors. I'm a little nervous that I'm gonna have to figure out how to manage the power of the 3.3 as a complete newb to nitro lol. It was just a bonus that this car came with the 3.3 but I almost wish it was a 2.5 just to learn on aha. Glad I have tsp so I can electronically set the carb to open gradually to ease onto the power. What did you have the motor in a nitro 4-Tecec or something else? Thanks for watching!
I couldn't help it, I had been taking to my gf about it for months and honestly did know if I'd ever find one. I have the 4-Tec 3.0 which is also a great platform and brutally quick but I've always wanted to have a nitro onroad vehicle for the sounds and smells. I had a neighbour that let me drive his nitro mustang once as a kid and I absolutely fell in love. Thanks for the kind words and for watching my video
Hey so I have one of these I took on as a project that I would give a 8/10 rating. Car is perfect. All belts in tact. Motor fires. Is missing the struts brace across the front shocks. I have two ctsv Cadillac bodies from protec that are so sick! If you need a parts car because I know everything you’re going to possibly break is impossible to find! I have one that is 99% in tact. My local hobby shop doesn’t mess with nitro as their nitro pro moved and nobody has stepped up and replaced him. Let me know. I have an almost perfect representation of this car with parts you will not be able to find again.
If I need a parts car I know who to reach out to, I've actually had not had too bad of a time finding parts for this car surprisingly but I know more things will break eventually. That's a future Chris problem though and I'm not too worried about that guy. Thanks for watching.
It kills me that they are so rare too as back in the day replacement bodies for these cars were sooo cheap. Im supprised more owners didnt have more then one but I'm very happy with the one I found. Thanks for watching!
You sound Canadian? I just found out Canada is no longer selling nitro. I checked A Main Hobbies and they want over $200 USD for a gallon of nitro fuel. canada is so woke
Yessir. WE still have hobby shops that sell nitro fuel and I do believe the shops still sell some nitro and some gas powered hobby grade stuff but the majority nowadays is electric. Nitro fuel is quite expensive here and there is literally nowhere locally to pick up after-run oil. It is extremely expensive to buy online in very small quantity's. my substitute is many nitro aviation guys have recommended using marvel mystery oil as an after run oil alternative which has been working well for me. Thanks for watching!
Awesome find and video!!!! Happy RC’ing Y’all!!!
This is so sick, you definitely restored it to perfection. Even at the hobby shop the guys couldn't believe the condition of it. Solid find
It cleaned up very nice, thanks for coming to pick it up with me! Love you
LOVE IT! Congratulations & great job! ENJOY! BTW, the body is awesome!
