I like the addition of NPCs interacting with the environment more. The Polaris guard at the Research Ship even appeared to have taken damage from the Ice Golem. And I'm glad the new hover bike is a bit janky. Proves it's a true off-spring of the motorbike.
yeah, having animals chasing you around a heavily fortified polaris base always seemed odd - especially when firing at them risked hitting stuff you really dont want to
To be fair it was less janky in the 1.10 release candidate 2 beta build build when I checked it out. The only thing that was a bit janky was the hoverbike could kind of fly using the forward engines. Basically I'd angle the bike a bit upwards and the forward thrust could get the bike way higher than its hover height was so long as you didn't stop moving. I downloaded the full 1.10 public release yesterday and was sad to see "Fix: Hoverbike can fly" in the patch notes. Whatever they did to the hoverbike to prevent it flying makes the ride cam jitter up and down rapidly when I go any direction on it except reverse.
Another tip to beginners, generally you keep your action bar when you die. So keep your primary ammo on your action bar in case you need to fight your way back to your loot after death.
As a beginner I quickly learned that the best base is an underground base. However, thats certainly not necessary on Akua as nothing comes close to your base,
If you ever get insane amounts of stone from mining whatever, you can also harvest trees, make an industry base and make enormous amounts of ammunition, stacks of 4000's of all kinds. Leftovers can make motors, which are much lighter weight and use carbon substrate, iron, copper and silicon for the factory, while reducing construction time - until you make another build, once time is down to 1 second its best to add regular ingots - time resets every production and ingots give no time bonus, only finished parts.
28:38 You don't need armor locker to equip armor and boosts as well on a light armor, just open inventory and slap it. Armor locker is for mediums and higher stuff :D Keep up great content and channel Spanj, hope to see more good stuff

Oh, I forgot about the Talon, but low-tech stuff from them just isn't the same. In vanilla, it seems more and more like you don't even need to set down a permanent base later on even with resource depletion on, just keep making weapons or finding loots to sell to refuel your ships. Spanj, if you have any plans to continue this guide, i have a suggestion. Personally Ive attempted empyrion a few times, i can prosper (even on the hard planet starts for the basics, hv, sv, base etc, and ive also watched your Emp and RE videos to try and learn. But i always stumble on how to pre-emptively know what POI's are do-able for my given tech level, so i usually getbwrecked and lose faith. I try to watch your longplays to try and learn that bit, but naturally your already gained knowledge on pois guides you. Some emphasis on how us mere mortals can come to understand that would be much appreciatted, atleast by me :)
Park your ship out of range of the POI, jump out of your cockpit so you are stood on your ship with view of the POI and use a sniper rifle to inspect the POIs weapons loadout, if you dont have a combat ship with good shields and the POI has 8+ guns on it, leave it alone. Also if it has 100% next to its name and you dont have a ship with lasers or something that can take shields down, leave it alone. If the POI has no guns or only 2 or 3 and no shields, you should be able to take it on reasonably easy with a basic shielded attack vessel
"I am new to the game, I wonder how this is played?" This dude: "Oh, just spawn in with everything already built." "Oh, so it's like Space Engineers, then..."
hello again since the game wouldn't spawn a ship here i endeavored to build one after a couple oops its flyable very fast and can haul 158 to of cargo according to the stats. using 6,000 out of 15,00 CPU I've been using your videos as reference it's been a lot of help. i
Which build is this? I got the game on the 2023 winter sale and so far every blueprint is broken with parts missing from them. Wasted so much time on it so far and nothing works after you build it.
I literally did not last 10 min in the cold, it was so difficult trying to make the coffee while fighting and driving the bike around. Just not fast like you with the keyboard and mouse to get everything done
After about 5 deaths sprinting there, over 15 hot drinks, i finally made it. the POI marker disappears though when you get close which is annoying. Also how on earth did you get so lucky to not get taken out by drones in the first couple areas, my two games were swarming with them. I got camped for like 30mins nearly tryin to just get around the map, they'd constanlty spawn camp me where-ever I went.
Do you know how valuable those explorer tokens are? Seven of them will get you an epic drill and if you collect all of them the final prize a no cpu core.
Hi Spanj Have had the game for years since needing hamachi to multiplayer never got into it. Due to the starting always put me off the game as nothing was explained like in most games you build a solar panel and it works what is this extra part that you put in, I have tried the akua robinsons protocal but have found it throws so much at me that I can't keep it in and end up giving up I hope this series helps. I love building games as I have over 2000hrs in space engineers but this game could never get the hang of You mentioned a building video in this one is there a link as that confused me and cpu limits? where might i find it? Thanks keep the video series going but just a reminder that not everyone knows why a Generator would keep you warm or make radiation sounds or why a solar panel needs something else to work. I mean i Don't Thanks
This game is great but I still think it needs wheels and tracks. In my mind I just can't see how a hovering vehicle could have enough inertia to mine or perform heavy construction tasks but eh maybe that's just me!
Kinda agree , tracked may be cool, but on the other hand the bugs and terrain collisions would take them forever to deal with, when they need to do so much more stuff to make the wider universe more fun. i thing the hover vehicles hide a load of problems they wud otherwise have.
Step 1: Spawn in on Akua.
Step 2: Build a log cabin.
Step 3: Relax after a job well done and enjoy your retirement from space adventuring.

If the POI has no guns or only 2 or 3 and no shields, you should be able to take it on reasonably easy with a basic shielded attack vessel
just a funny. The subtitles translated the name of the planet to Ninja ass lol
No base attacks on starter moons in Vanilla im pretty sure
"I am new to the game, I wonder how this is played?"
This dude: "Oh, just spawn in with everything already built."
"Oh, so it's like Space Engineers, then..."
just checking il be fine with rtx 4060 to run this right
Yep, that will do very nicely
Is there hotas support for this?
I used to play this game when it was in it's infancy and I only wish that they would improve the graphics.
hello again since the game wouldn't spawn a ship here i endeavored to build one after a couple oops its flyable very fast and can haul 158 to of cargo according to the stats. using 6,000 out of 15,00 CPU I've been using your videos as reference it's been a lot of help. i
Which build is this? I got the game on the 2023 winter sale and so far every blueprint is broken with parts missing from them. Wasted so much time on it so far and nothing works after you build it.
Multiple review comments said to play this with Reforged Eden from the Workshop. What are your thoughts for a new player?
I am trying to get into this game but it looks just so overwhelming, it's so much you have to do just get a base up and running.
Gerald???? Is that you??? Also for a base respawn point, you need to place a clone chamber or a heath station down as part of the base.
I literally did not last 10 min in the cold, it was so difficult trying to make the coffee while fighting and driving the bike around. Just not fast like you with the keyboard and mouse to get everything done
Can't you build 2 portable heaters and use them both to raise the temp more??? I mean that would only make sense.
anyway of getting this blueprint ships on epic? got this game for free and i was trying to play it
Check this tutorial out. It's limited but is currently the only way to get blueprints into an epic install th-cam.com/video/7cSKvIPmcns/w-d-xo.html
Will this game be playable on a GTX-750 Ti?
Didn't Empyrion recently make it so that you could equip light armor and boost with out needing an armor locker.
You used to be able to place 2 heaters, and the combination of the 2 or 3 would warm you up. not sure if it is still allowed.
Not any more, it increases area of effect, but they don't stack.
Hello, can you please show us your key binds, your graphics
Settings and your fps, that would help a lot!!
Also do you use the numbers or the mouse for your inventory
Hi nice video
Cheers
Is this just a one-off or are you going to continue this. Great video nonetheless
They Need a insane level for drone attacks 😂
Why not use an airtight cargo box to block 2 open holes?
oh i see why now, you wanted to make it pretty.
Hi Spanj
Have had the game for years since needing hamachi to multiplayer never got into it. Due to the starting always put me off the game as nothing was explained like in most games you build a solar panel and it works what is this extra part that you put in, I have tried the akua robinsons protocal but have found it throws so much at me that I can't keep it in and end up giving up I hope this series helps.
I love building games as I have over 2000hrs in space engineers but this game could never get the hang of
You mentioned a building video in this one is there a link as that confused me and cpu limits? where might i find it?
Thanks keep the video series going but just a reminder that not everyone knows why a Generator would keep you warm or make radiation sounds or why a solar panel needs something else to work. I mean i Don't
Thanks
Hey, this is a video I did on how to build everything in EGS th-cam.com/video/3nG8T_SNfsM/w-d-xo.html
@@Spanj thanks will look into it
Want sunlight in single player? Sleep for 8 hours.
Was anyone else screaming at Spanj to stop harvesting and get to the science station?
*In Arnies voice "Get to the science station"
I was too busy trying to figure out why there was daylight
Algorithm comment to boost this for new player :)
This game is great but I still think it needs wheels and tracks. In my mind I just can't see how a hovering vehicle could have enough inertia to mine or perform heavy construction tasks but eh maybe that's just me!
Well it doesnt hover like todays hovercraft do, it uses some anti-grav shenanigans
@@Spanjyeh that's true! Like I said it's a great game and I really enjoy it. Thanks for the video.
I do think for simple varieties sake they could be cool though. But I gather the engine would struggle with them??
Kinda agree , tracked may be cool, but on the other hand the bugs and terrain collisions would take them forever to deal with, when they need to do so much more stuff to make the wider universe more fun. i thing the hover vehicles hide a load of problems they wud otherwise have.
