The limited restrictive bare bones game I bought all those years ago bears absolutely no resemblance to the sprawling vast adventure it is today. Those four rod lights. Will be great for acting as rp fuel rods in generator rooms. The gravity stuff though. Attempts to build Elysiums space station,halos. You can build gravity lifts to get around space stations quick(the trick being to not take damage at the end). Or the poi trap trolling with the new gravity. Flip a switch and the gravity of the poi inverts or pulls you to a wall.
Dammit! I just managed to make my very first base from scratch and now I've gotta start all over. Got wayyyy too many ideas from the new pieces. Thanks for the preview of the new blocks and parts (and the explanations of course) Spanj, you rock

I really hope they'll add adaptive suspended landing gears some day. I hate landing on rigid landing gears and having your ship tilted off-horizon. Sometimes it's so bad you even can't go upstairs because of it. I know it's possible, I saw such stuff in Space Engineers!
I really wish eleon would let us tweak pitch yaw and roll individually left/right, up/down and counter/clockwise. Right now assymetrical vessels turn faster one way than the other and while you can change the rotation for that axis you can only do it for both directions at the same time, so the difference remains proportional. This makes assymetrical vessels nearly impossible to get flying properly. It's the reason i took a 4 year hiatus from empyrion, because i love assyms. I really hoped it'd have been fixed by now
@@Total_Egal I don't want realism to the extreme, otherwise i'd play Space engineers like you said. My main goal is making ships that look good and some designs don't allow you to place thrusters wherever. I know it should be symmetrical to the centre of mass but that's very restrictive aesthetically. Just allowing you to tweak the values would not break the game. You'd lose realism but empyrion is more of an arcadey game anyways

I feel like I can almost hear Revian and Vermillion cursing Eleon for releasing all of these blocks *now* after they've spent tonnes of time redesigning a bunch of POIs for RE2 😂 but it's very nice to see new stuff being added either way, it brings up interesting possibilities and we like to see new possibilities for player bases and beyond
While I do appreciate any updates Eleon makes to Empyrion, it does irk me when they add new things to only one grid type while leaving the other grid type lacking, like they've done here - we now have a large selection of light-emitting-block models for CVs and bases, meanwhile HVs and SVs are still stuck with 1 (or 3 if you count the 2 Spotlights variants as well).
RG or RE has all standard types of lights for SVs and HVs, just shrinked versions of these for BA/CV. What really bothers me is something they did with spotlights. They should be bright and they were before, but now they are very dim and can't illuminate anything even near your vessel.
Oh yes please - the vast majority of games have a selection of crosshairs of various shapes and colours. The tiny one that Eleon uses is easily lost esp. in combat
I am super interested in the new way the Gravity Generators work. I am mainly curious to see what people like Vermillion will do with creating trippy POI's with differing gravity orientations
you got your gravity generator on the wrong side for a ring ship or station. You need to reverse them so they push you out. that way you can run on the inside of the ring, not the outside
I'm curious how the elevators work with the new grav gens. Also, can you turn one off and an opposite one on to shift the gravity in a ship. Time to head to creative!
i was thinking the new grav gens had configurable field sizes. i suppose this is still miles better than the old way. what is REALLY nice is that the grav fields dont double up where they overlap. so you can cover a large ship/station with grav and not have parts where you suddenly cant walk up stairs. the other stuff is...meh. theres so many things in egs that desperately need attention, i dont think new lights and tree styles should be a thought at this point. that being said, as a KSP player....im just glad the devs still have a job at all...

They need to let real mods be a thing. That would put this game into the top games list. They claimed that mods would be a thing 3 or 4 years ago. I like this game a lot but until I start seeing real mods for it on Nexus, it's on hold for me.

Great they have added these new blocks (the trees look terrific with the animations happening). All good but I do wish they would update the character models and animations as they look terrible and stop changing the crafting item icons it’s a waste of time. Land on a icon model and stick with it spend the time fixing bugs.
what i think it needs are new skins for the beesties, so we can have more Alien Races....... And as a scenario bilder make it that any creture you assign dialog to gets an exclamation sign over their head.... to stop aggrssive players mowing down the story givers then wondering what to do.

There's only so many reasons to build a ship when there's almost no pve, nothing to explore and only things to mine. I wish SE had all the things to do EGS has and I wish EGS had SE's well, everything really

I know I'm 4 months late here, but can you make the ring smooth on the INSIDE instead of the outside? And then transition from the middle of the ring to the inside of the ring while walking outwards and transitioning to sticking to the INSIDE of the ring? Like in 2001 A Space Odyssey? That was a pretty cool experiment that you did right there anyway! I just got the game with EPIC's FREE game week and my son and I are having a blast playing it together. This game really needs actual modding support. Real mods available on nexus would send this game into a whole other level AND make them a ton of money. Why they won't do it is beyond me. They're just pissin away money.
Lights are nice and its great to see them still adding things. My question is, has Eleon just given up on fixing the bugs? I haven't played in quite a while.. So tired of people in the mesh, invisible enemies, ships stuck in ships, etc. They just have a laundry list of bugs that never seem to be really fixed. This is the game I loved to hate.
Bugs aren't really getting fixed - serious things yes but the small QoL stuff and other things that aren't show stoppers aren't being worked on at all it seems. Eleon fell into the trap where they got big enough and felt they didn't need to listen to their customers any longer, and then Funcom got involved which has put pressure on for Eleon to show some sort of profit (hence the DLC). I
@@gfimadcatnah dude, the DLC was for the fact that they have been working on this game for 9 years on a 20 bucks per sale budget. So, after all they have done to work on the game for all that time I think they have earned a bit of extra cash influx. Nothing to do with Funcom.
The building is pretty decent, especially now that you have new pieces to play with; but the game play itself is terrible. I started a new Reforged Eden 1 game and ended up uninstalling. After dying and being sent back to my home planet is very frustrating. Enemies spawning behind decorations like plants, and being able to shoot me, but I can't shoot them is also frustrating. Eventually I gave up and uninstalled. Eleon needs a new dev team to turn this game around; because right now, it really @#%!? sux.
Bruh.... It's 2024. Why can't we have a normal sci-fi space exploration game with planets to explore and alien civilizations to meet and ancient artifacts to find all ready? Like a good old Star Trek series going in the unknown and find what life is on distant worlds.... Bruh.....
This game is dead to me. They promised a lot of improvements, like proper energy distribution system(which would make cpu obsolete), a better speed limit for ships based on acceleration, free roam in ship during transit, crew that you can actually use, and lots of stuff. "All going to be added eventually" sure.
FFS that lens flare is atrocious... WHY the hell do game devs just insist on that stupid shit.... We don't see them with our eyes guys putting them into games just breaks the immersion so much and they always look terrible... They have looked terrible in EGS for ever and have even caused visual bugs before but the devs just seam to be hell bent on keeping them for some reason. I wouldn't care so much if you could disable them but you cant.
the one thing i want to see added to Empyrion still is a 2 or 3 part curved block for more gradual slopes on ship hulls

That 90 degree gravity transition was actually super impressive, considering how janky elevators are when you enter them at a slight tilt 🤣

I haven’t played in awhile, do you still fall through your ship if you stand up while the ship is in motion?
Now, you can't get out of the cockpit if the ship is in motion (yes you can get stuck in the seat if the game bugs out and struggles to stay still)

Lights are nice and its great to see them still adding things. My question is, has Eleon just given up on fixing the bugs? I haven't played in quite a while.. So tired of people in the mesh, invisible enemies, ships stuck in ships, etc. They just have a laundry list of bugs that never seem to be really fixed. This is the game I loved to hate.
Bugs aren't really getting fixed - serious things yes but the small QoL stuff and other things that aren't show stoppers aren't being worked on at all it seems. Eleon fell into the trap where they got big enough and felt they didn't need to listen to their customers any longer, and then Funcom got involved which has put pressure on for Eleon to show some sort of profit (hence the DLC). @@gfimadcatnah dude, the DLC was for the fact that they have been working on this game for 9 years on a 20 bucks per sale budget.
So, after all they have done to work on the game for all that time I think they have earned a bit of extra cash influx. Nothing to do with Funcom.
I'm imaging making an insane 3d maze that isn't just multi level but multi directional and all, 4D maze anyone? lol.

The building is pretty decent, especially now that you have new pieces to play with; but the game play itself is terrible. I started a new Reforged Eden 1 game and ended up uninstalling. After dying and being sent back to my home planet is very frustrating. Enemies spawning behind decorations like plants, and being able to shoot me, but I can't shoot them is also frustrating. Eventually I gave up and uninstalled. Eleon needs a new dev team to turn this game around; because right now, it really @#%!? sux.

This game is dead to me. They promised a lot of improvements, like proper energy distribution system(which would make cpu obsolete), a better speed limit for ships based on acceleration, free roam in ship during transit, crew that you can actually use, and lots of stuff.

FFS that lens flare is atrocious... WHY the hell do game devs just insist on that stupid shit.... We don't see them with our eyes guys putting them into games just breaks the immersion so much and they always look terrible... They have looked terrible in EGS for ever and have even caused visual bugs before but the devs just seam to be hell bent on keeping them for some reason. I wouldn't care so much if you could disable them but you cant.
