This is why I get pissed when we don’t have Universal Healthcare, free higher education, record homelessness, millions kicked off benefits, no raise on federal minimum wage, all while we are funding Israel. 🙄

Remember: the cruelty is the point.
The rest of us see how bad it could be, we're scared and malleable.
See, it's actually cheaper to house homeless people. Between getting arrested and going to emergency rooms (because living on the streets gets you seriously ill waaay more often), we'd spend about 2/3 less, per person, putting them up in little apartments, then getting them any needed services.
...With the added benefit of a lot of them getting jobs and becoming self-sufficient.
This has been my TED talk.

The lack of those basic rights are the direct result of how dysfunctional Congress is right now, & people’s lack of understanding/awareness of which Party supports what, as well as some people’s lack of initiative when it comes to researching candidates’ platforms/issue priorities, & measuring them up to their own interests & standards of living.
Another HUGE problem in our body politic today is the fact that people treat politics like it’s a team sport, as opposed to what it really is: a personal measurement of the issues & topics which most affect you, your family, your standards of living, & your rights as a human being!
These problems only serve to exacerbate our lack of those fundamental rights, especially given the fact that 1 Party has been running on those exact same issues for years - & has brought them to the floor as recently as the last Congress (2021-22), while the other Party has been running on either their privatization, or their dissolution altogether!

      @@grmpEqweer Believe me, I’m aware!
That’s why I find the Republican Party so disgusting & insidious! It’s also incredibly apt that you chose a quote by human cockroach, Grover Norquist, from the Reagan era no less, aka the starting point for the American wealth redistribution to the top 1% & corporations, & the undermining of the federal government, both of which are the biggest contributors to almost every problem facing the American people today! That’s why Trump slid right into that Party so easily; he didn’t want to “drain the swamp”, he wanted to luxuriate in it! I could go on & on, but I think we’re on the same page, are we not?!

Thank you, former Presidential candidate and one of the Top Leading Most Influential Persons of the 20th-Century Nader!
I did write down the title of your book; I'm hoping to pick it up and read it, hopefully sometime soon, it seems extremely interesting and influential.
    With the war in Gaza,
Calls of Ceasefire have been called since nearly the beginning, in October. Senator Merkley and Senator Sanders said it best, in my opinion, with their calls for Ceasefire but also in the necessities that need to be taken after the murdering stops; after this Palestinian genocide.
What measures that were voiced in rebuilding:
    - S. Merkley
"The ceasefire requires an immediate cessation of military hostilities by both sides... Hamas must release all the hostages without conditions and lay down their arms... has to go.
Israel must end its bombing and shelling and also address the immediate humanitarian challenge. Israel should open the Kerem Shalom gate and flood Gaza with humanitarian aid-so no more children die from a failed incubator, bad water, or hunger-and facilitate the passage of injured civilians in Gaza to hospitals in the West Bank.
And to start on the path to a more just future,... and end the settlers’ violence against Palestinian villagers.
Most importantly, the Israeli people and the Palestinian people must find leaders determined to partner with each other and the world to replace the cycle of hate and violence with both a long-term vision for security, peace and prosperity featuring two states for two peoples, and immediate, concrete steps toward that goal."
    - S. Sanders
"The issue now is to act decisively to end the indiscriminate bombing by Israel... and secure a significant humanitarian pause so that the massive humanitarian aid that is needed - food, water, medicine, and fuel - can get into Gaza and save lives...
...the right of displaced Gazans to return to their homes; no long-term Israeli occupation of Gaza; an end to settler violence in the West Bank and a freeze on settlement expansion; and a commitment to broad peace talks for a two-state solution in the wake of the war..."
    A solution
as I can understand would be bringing together the segregated two-states of Palastine and Israel and in repairing the current, broken separation of peoples, in forming one Nation, as a whole. Palestine, as far as I've known, is a broken Nation of impoverished, marginalized, fostered and orphaned, controlled by economic disparages. Bringing together these two Civilizations, Israelis and Palastinians, seems to be the most concrete solution

The choice in2024, as it stands for president, is not different enough from the choice between Hitler and Stalin.

The US could end the Israel-Palestine conflict by making its military and financial support of Israel depend on:
    1. Israel ceasing its illegal Palestinian genocide immediately.
    2. Israel accepting a two-state arrangement as follows:
    a. Israel gives up ALL of the of the Palestinian land that it illegally stole after 1967.
    b. The Palestinians deserve reparations for the illegal treatment they have received from Israel. All of the illegal Jewish settlers on Palestinian land including the West Bank must leave and forfeit their lands and buildings as reparations to the Palestinians.
    c. Israel must forfeit land for Palestinian roads that will connect the various parts of Palestine.
    d. Palestine will be a completely independent state and have its own citizens, constitution, government, police force, and army.
    e. Israel will have no police or military presence in Palestine.
    f. Gaza will have its own shipping ports and airports and the West Bank will have its own airports.
    g. The US and the UK as reparations for their support of Israel’s illegal activities will rebuild Gaza.
    h. UN forces will guide and enforce these policies.

Ralph Nader one of the few Arab Americans who raised his voice against the genocide in Gaza and the occupation of Palestine in general from so many Arab Americans he is the only one and that is saying a lot about the Arab diaspora in the USA sadly

Is there a logistical reason why aid isnt flown in? If the trucks are delayed by the Israelis and the roads have been destroyed, what other way is there to bring aid to Gaza without interference?

The complete immorality of people, even those who were my friends, when it comes to this appalling crime is beyond belief. Doctors who should know and understand the cataclysmic health crisis that is about to erupt seem to have a total blindness to things that are absolutely their obligation. While many good academic institutions are predicting the coming tidal wave of death, so far, very few come out and pillory our politicians for their complicity. Complicity is Silence!
