I've done the same but also left the original mechanism inside. So I have both peaces. The damper is under the original piece and it works great. And, additionally it is nearly invisible.
Great vid I was looking at this while shopping on mud for parts the other night. Just bought a 07 puma LHD as my daily here in Canada. In large part to your informative videos. Keep up the good work 👍
Hi Zack, I fitted this strut several months ago, its fantastic BUT it keeps popping the bottom left trim clip off, several other people have also said the same thing if you look at the comments on installation videos. If you go on the manufacturers actual website it shows the strut installed the other way round, so the piston bit behind the door card if that makes sense, i installed my one this way but no good, still pops the bottom trim clip off :(( Have you fitted the missing clips yet Zack to try it? Its also a real pain for me to access it now to try to rectify as I have my drop down table bolted through the door card as well! Kind regards Tony
I’m still missing clips so I’ve not actually noticed it popping it off. Once I’ve got some new clips I’ll have to test it. You’re right though, it’s a great mod
Very smart! If the rear door is steel, you may want to put a bit of primer and/or paint on the bare metal from your drill holes. Looks great!
