Was nice to see how easy it is to remove/install the corner capping 👌 I’d have gone for bare galvanized pieces for that retro look, but that’s just me. Great job!
Great job. Painted my Triumph Spitfire years back for £30 and then had it in practical classics magazine - ok it wasn't perfect, but it looked pretty good.
Looking good so far. I Raptor painted my 90 pickup in the end, in the same blue I think as yours, tinted to match the rest, as I didn't want to go to all the time and effort for only to be bothered about preventing new scratches.
I mean come on... that is bloody cracking Zach! You certainly are putting in the skill building with this one... And not afraid to try. Brilliant job 🙂👍
A few years ago i saw a pickup with a raptored bed and the raptor also wrapped over the capping's. Having tried several times to rub the capping's down and repaint I'm now considering this option. I dont think replacing the cappings with galvanised ones will be possible on mine without first removing the roll cage otherwise that is what I would do.
Are you planning on using a compressor and spray gun for the basecoat and clearcoat? Not super expensive but worth considering as you get a much better finish. Good job on the prep btw.
Hey mate, it's a bit off-topic here. But I would love to know where you got scout's trailer power outet? I checked numerous vids but didn't find any info on that one. Like your vehicles as well as the content. Greetings from Germany
may i ssuggest some products i sued to restore my gtr? duplicolor makes a great sandable prime and etching primet. i hgihly suggest you sue that as they also have wider spray patters to avoid tiger stripping. also for the the bed i suggest suing the raptor liner spray can. the texture is quality and durability is second to none and leaves a great sand finish.
The one thing I would say is you spent ages degreasing it and then knelt on it with bare knees! That’s why people wear those suits (at least wear trousers!) just a bit of advise

Thanks so much! Loving learning with this build and can’t wait for the finished result
@@ScoutTheDefender It is turning out to be a great journey to follow!

Brilliant video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Definitely paint the body under the capping’s 👍🏻

How many coats in total?..
3 coats in the end - then 2 coats of clear
Nice job! You forgot to overlay the images for the raptor job at 11:35 😉
Knew I forgot something 🤦🏼♂️

Haha yes! That’s a very good point 🤦🏼♂️
Impressive Zach. Looking great. How many cans of primer was that? (Ian @littlewhiteninety)
Hey Ian, this was 2 1/2 cans of acid etch and a can of high build primer
