Coincidentally, I was recently getting together a set of N-Gauge trains that my father had collected for a friend of mine, and in the box were my old "Aurora Model Motoring' cars, tracks and transformers, etc. I had over 20 cars from Formula 1, to jalopies, to Mustangs, XKE, Cobra, etc etc. These date back to the early sixties. I started with them when I was in grammar school. I had the original steering wheel/dashboard controllers as you do, but quickly replaced them with handheld controllers. They were great fun to race and I enjoyed re-painting them, putting on decals, replacing tires with racing slicks, etc. This brings back great memories for me. Now they go to my daughters kids! Thanks for memories Bill! Be well.
In UK Scalextric is the most popular brand! I have a set plus numerous accessories/expansions but rarely get to use it as it takes up so much space! Great video as usual.😊🇬🇧
Wow, this takes me back. My brother and I d endless hours of racing on a track like this, but as I recall, our objective seemed always to be to cause a crash rather than win a race. 😆
Just unearthed my dads Model Motoring/Aurora/AMX/Thunderjet collection. Its pretty beat and i played with it when i was a kid too but I've been able to rescue a lot of it. I'm 33 now and its going to get me thru the depression of the harsh NE winter. 😅
I remember when I was young my dad did get me and my brother ho slot cars this is in the 70s now I'm alot older and gray I just got back into it about 3 years something to keep me busy I'm retired so good video
Great stuff Bill, I loved these as a '70's kid as well, but I was a bit frustrated by them flying off the track and getting the older ones to be compatible with my newer set (smoked a few motors in my efforts I'm afraid.) I did love the Hot Wheels battery charged Sizzlers a bit more because they could also be used with the gravity race tracks as well as the 'Big-O' set they they came with. I wish I'd picked up a 2nd Speed Racer Sizzler set in the 1990's from Playing Mantis, but I guess that's what eBay is for, eh? I do love the cars you modified and made up, and maybe there's folks who will 3D print bodies for some cars out there that may not have been produced four use in these sets? Take care, and keep up the great vids and games!
My brother and I did model trains and toy soldiers. We didn’t do slot cars. I do remember when there were a lot car parlors. Te cars were much ginger than yours.
My first Aurora set was from Santa i 1961, I was 11 years old. I still have the set and with the steering wheel controls! Thanks Bill for the memories
I don’t do a lot with this channel

Beautiful lay out. What size table is that? 4x8?
I built it on a door just a regular door say 36 by 7
@BillsWargameWorld oh great. I'm working on a door myself. Now I might change my layout. Thanks.
