Thanks this inspires me to paint the BMC Iwo Jima set I have. I thought there were issues with painting regular plastic toy soldiers but it’s probably the primer that matters.

Do you have Featherstone's Victoria's Enemies An A-Z of British Colonial Warfare ? I'm reading it at the moment, it's a lightweight description of Britain's adversaries from Abyssinias to Zulus. I think you and the Chuckle Heads would find it interesting.

If you add a few drops of Jet Dry (the stuff for your dishwasher) to your wash it will let your wash flow into all the cracks and crevices much easier.

THE LITTLE GUN AND TANK TURRET ARE FROM MPC MADE IN THE MID-60S. THEY MADE LITTLE PLANES,TANKS,SHIPS.YOU GOT ABOUT 100 ITEMS PER BAG,THEY CAN STILL BE FOUND ON LINE,I HAD THEM AS A KID.THEY WERE GREAT FOR WARGAMES AS THEY WERE THE SAME SIZE AS MB BOARDGAMES PIECES.

A fun set of rules. Fast and pretty simple, and the games look like an 18th century battle.

So, I created my own little continent with full on states and all with the idea to play out battles in a wargame. Now, I am looking for something simple just to get szarted right now, maybe I will get it realized bisher some day, but rn three or four bags of Plastik soldiers would do (if there are some from the pike and shot era that is)

I have a bag of soldiers from every close relative in my family. I think the reason old plastic degrades like that is because of the metal oxides they use to colour the plastic degrades as it ages. Although it could be UV light from the sun which breaks ato ic bonds in the polymer chains. Keep plastic out of strong sunlight unleas its special plastic designed to resist UV faiding.

One point of order. When saying Warwick's name, the w is silent, so it is pronounced warrick.

The gray soldiers are mpc Russians, the blue one you put on the horse is lido American civil war

Port Royal is where my ancestors were from at the time of the Revolution. In fact, my 7th G Grandfather while wounded, tried to walk from Valley Forge to Port Royal but died along the way. In retrospect, probably not the best idea! Keep the vids flowing Bill!!!

I just wanted to say it's cool to see you try to bring light into the world by exploring history and trying to support it's preservation with your efforts. And the gaming part is fun too.

Great job. Don't use enamel paint because the solven in the paint makes the plastic brittle. I only use enamel paint on my metal figurines. Use acrylic based paint on plastic soldiers is my advice. I gave all my enamel paints to someone at my last home. For someone with eyesight issues, you sure did a great paint job. Im impressed that someone with no formal painting training did such a good job. You must have a steady hand and a lot of patience.

Hi, at the weekend I was playing against my 10 year old grandson using these figures. He's been painting 28mm and 54mm figures for a couple of years. I am quality control. He says " I am nine and you want me to be perfect".😀😂
