Kimi Chaddah YES i am in y8 and tried to revise for 4-6 hrs one day when i usually revise 20-40 mins per school night (if there’s a test) and obvs that revision day didnt work and i stressed for the rest of the day xx
@@bloggerofthebloggish y8 and y9 dont worry about revising for tests, i know people who always get 90% on all tests without revising and if you feel like you will do bad then 1hr- 2hr revising on a topic for a test is enough however for y9 triple sciene test you should do at least 30mins-1hr a day at least 2 weeks before the test.
My cut off point activity is reading :) it's really good to wind down after work and get ready for bed. A few chapters at night, after or during a bath, is actually perfect. Nothing beats it

sanjana sarin most schools and sixth forms have break around 11 and lunch around 12:30/1, then school finishes between 3-4, that's why she says have a snack, I'd totally have a full lunch if I had your timetable though!😂

Videos like these can be both incredibly motivating or absolutely depressing depending on your current mindset. Sometimes it's like, 'oh yeah, I can definately do this if I put my mind to it!' Yada, yada. Other times it can be more, 'look at all these amazing people, they're so damn put together, why can't Ibe like that?...' This is by not fault of the creator, it's just that sometimes reality hits you in the face and all you want to do is curl up into a ball and forget. Too much of something good is bad, it stands the same for motivation. Take a breath, give yourself some space, and get on with it; because running doesn't help. It's completely fine not to be the perfect, put together person, in fact it's normal to be..well, normal. ...Goddman, if anyone read this, thank you (?) 🤦😂

Ella Greenwood I 100% do as they go together really well as all the subjects over lap and link together. All I would say is make sure that you really enjoy doing maths as obviously you end up spending half your life doing it😂 Good luck in your GCSEs and I hope this helped😊

I get home, usualy dont have homework because i do maths, physics, and further maths (so no essays) and get it all done in Free periods. I usually just do extra revision (they say 5hrs per subject per week so i do 3 hours every day) and then by 9:30 im in bed reading a book. I aim to be asleep by 10:30.

I literally try to have a 20 minute nap before I start and then I ALWAYS sleep for 5 hours and end up waking up at 10pm. Mum lets me do this because I'm disabled and "I need it" and alarms don't wake me up😩

I use to work/revise from when I got in from school at 3:20 until 12/1 in morning, only braking for my tea, mainly due to the stress of A level history coursework. Yet it would just make be so unfocused and tired the next day. Breaks and sleep are so important as well as the revision itself! 💛💛

The Uliana idk how different RS is now from when I took it last year, but learn your keywords! They are only 2 marks but trust me they help. The easiest and most effective way for me was to get the exam structure on point. You don't want to be writing a whole lot if crap for a question where you need to only write a couple lines.
For the 12 mark questions there is always a key word, it'll be something similar to "always" or "more convincing"- keep linking back to that. Something that's also good is writing a quick table of agree/disagreeing opinions. It's also good to write the opinions and then say why some people of a certain religion could sympathise with that, and back it up with a scripture reference, it doesn't have to be that exact.

Crazii Cookie Just go to the exam board website. You can get old spec past papers (asides from English and Maths, where they only have new ones and specimens). I believe they have new spec specimens BUT they may be used for mocks, meaning the progress check from your mocks becomes inaccurate if you do those papers before.
Crazii Cookie If you're doing the new 9-1 GCSEs then there will only be past papers for maths and English but I don't think they're out yet. If you want to do the old spec past papers just as extra revision, then go on your exam board website (AQA, OCR, Edexcel etc) and find your subject and they should be there.

Reputation 1989 I did two languages at GCSE and everyone thought I was crazy but if you don't have a problem with spending a lot of time doing vocabulary, you're good at them and you enjoy them then I would recommend it. I certainly don't regret it as I came out with good grades (I did french and german) and I almost did RE instead of german and would have had so much more to revise. It's also a different kind of revision, because if you are good at languages they will come to you much more easily
Absolutely go for it! If you enjoy both then you will work to succeed. I did both and came out with A*s because I loved them and am now taking french and German a level

Why so self conscious and such a low sense of self confidence and appreciation? a lot of people say things like this and think it is normal that they have to conform to society image. Pimples and marks on your face are perfectly normal, no one will be perfect. Your a teen... it’s life!!!
How do people have so much time in the evening. Like If I need to go to bed at nine then I will have an hour taken off of family time and dinner and another one for a bath and relaxing so that's four hours but then an hour comes off if I go to a study session after school so I have 3 hours. Usually two of them are for homework and then I barely get to do my revision timetable
Sadly, that's probably where you need to cut relaxing time, then if that's not enough, family time and then finally, if that's not enough, your sleep. I anyways try to live by the motto of school before everything else, obviously try to keep some of each - e.g. have 20 minutes for family/relaxing but yeah
Bethany Barratt I train 18hrs a week, but during my gcse's I stopped training during the evenings except one. So lowered it to 12hrs, It's so much easier when your evenings are free
Yeh I actually cut down my swimming a lot because I didn't enjoy it any more i only do like 2 1/2 -3 hours a week now and I don't compete but if you still want to compete i recommend stopping for like year 11 and cutting down your hours and then putting them back up again. My sister is only in year 8 and she already does like 10 hours a week and they expect her to do 21 at GCSE. She won't be able to do it.

Reputation 1989 I'm in year 11 but I do french&german and it's not that bad I promise! in my school at least there is so many people who do 2 and I actually think its less effort than if I took history or something.. I don't get confused as much as I thought I would and ive grown to like mornings with French then german bc it feels like one lesson 😂 good luck :)

Thank you all so much for replying:) I think I'd like to do Spanish and French - but would they be too samey? I've learnt them both for at least 2 years in KS3 (though I learnt French for 3) and I haven't had any problems distinguishing between the two. Is it still a stupid idea?

Why so self conscious and such a low sense of self confidence and appreciation? a lot of people say things like this and think it is normal that they have to conform to society image. Pimples and marks on your face are perfectly normal, no one will be perfect. Your a teen... it’s life!!!

How do people have so much time in the evening. Like If I need to go to bed at nine then I will have an hour taken off of family time and dinner and another one for a bath and relaxing so that's four hours but then an hour comes off if I go to a study session after school so I have 3 hours. Usually two of them are for homework and then I barely get to do my revision timetable
Sadly, that's probably where you need to cut relaxing time, then if that's not enough, family time and then finally, if that's not enough, your sleep. I anyways try to live by the motto of school before everything else, obviously try to keep some of each - e.g. have 20 minutes for family/relaxing but yeah
I always have a nap when I get in then I swim and then I sleep then repeat 😂😬🤷🏽♀️idk how I'm going to do gcses 😂
Bethany Barratt I train 18hrs a week, but during my gcse's I stopped training during the evenings except one. So lowered it to 12hrs, It's so much easier when your evenings are free

Yeh I actually cut down my swimming a lot because I didn't enjoy it any more i only do like 2 1/2 -3 hours a week now and I don't compete but if you still want to compete i recommend stopping for like year 11 and cutting down your hours and then putting them back up again. My sister is only in year 8 and she already does like 10 hours a week and they expect her to do 21 at GCSE. She won't be able to do it.
eve alexandra I'm in year 9 and I do 8 at the mo cause I'm doing gcse but usually I do 10 as well I still enjoy swimming and I like the gals but some can be 10+ hours on both days with the training as well is a lot I'm sure I'll get he balance x
