@NickH1106 nice, we just started again and i got a $19 zebco33 push button and a $38 Shakespeare/ ugly stik gx2. fishing for crappies and bluegill to eat. both are pretty nice rods so far. the ugly stik shakespear is 5'6, feels good im a short guy, as tall as the poll lol. push button is easy and relaxing, the spinner is like when your trying to get technical. fishing is fun
@NickH1106 at wally world we got a couple push button zebco 33's for $19, I like em. then I got a Shakespeare/ugly stik combo from miejer for $38, its a spinner . pretty nice for the prices on both. I think their all decent brands. im catchin bass/crappie/ and bluegill though, not hunting for sharks lol
"There's no set on rules about fishing, fish how you want. Just take some of these tips and apply it to your fishing" the most accurate statement from any fisherman I've heard in my life. All love ktbtv. You, 1rod1reel, john B., and lojo (as well as the rest of the googan squad) have given me so many tips and tricks. I run charters now with a man near twice my age (im 22) and hes amazed by my knowledge and use of minute/unknown tactics. thanks so much to all of you , keep it up! #fishon

After 3 months of being hospital for covid right after my dad passed away. I finally understand why my dad loved to fish so much. I just started fishing this year, even though I havent gotten any bite. I truly understand the peace and quiet of just being out near a body of water and casting this one rod I got for my birthday. The random chance of a fish biting can be so fun. Sometime you just need to get away from the city and fish for the day and enjoy the fun in life. Thanks dad and RIP. I will look for those baits.
*Great item. First cast out of the package caught a nice bass. Pulls smooth in the water and sets up nicely immediately upon retrieval. Worth adding to your tackle box.*
Great job! I'd love to see a video about techniques on how best to use all of those different lures. how do you reel it in? is there a better way to caste?
another great tips and trick video sir I love these last few videos you have been doing they have a lot of helpful tips and tricks and this one you did today I been looking for a good square bill video and you nailed it sir wish you would do like some of your fall go to baits and how you fish them and tips and tricks you use to help you get more fish but no matter thanks sir loved it
I peppered that like button. I actually used a square billed crankbait for the first time over the weekend. I had no clue how to use it. Turns out that theyre suppose to float. It took me a while to realize that cranking it will sink it. I had fun but there were no bites on the water. I wasn't the only one not catching anything
I would like to see a video of what different baits to use for different applications, water types (ponds, lakes, streams, river, etc), weather, surrounding, etc... I know it could be lengthy, but maybe do part 1, part 2 or something like that? Just things like, what baits would be better at different times of the year for, let’s say jigs, plastics, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, top water, etc. Just a thought for some helpful videos. Some of the comments, I didn’t read them all, are complaining about how new to fishing they are and you not showing details that they need. I don’t have the setup that you have or I would post some stuff. I think they are mostly looking at the name of the video and coming on here thinking that they are gonna mostly see techniques and stuff like that, not just what color to use and you guys catching fish. Just my thoughts and trying to be helpful. I like the videos and enjoy the channel, thank you all for all of your hard work and dedication. God Bless!
All I have is a medium power moderate action 7ft rod and a kast king baitcasting reel that's a 7 speed. It's loaded with 15lb fluoro. I'm learning to use them hense the rod/reel/line setup. Would this be adequate enough for crankbaits, square bill or lipless? And would be for the kvd 1.5 or 1.0. Or similar.
I’ve had trouble catching bass in general. I fish lakes on a kayak and I’m used to smallmouth fishing and I’m just now getting into largemouth fishing. I’ve only caught one bass and I’ve been fishing since after spawn.
What would the difference be between a crankbait and a rapala for deep waters (let's say the went the same depth but different speeds) to catch bass? Thanks for the news about crankbaits. I just looked up rapala and crankbaits and well, they're both the same. They advertised crankbaits made by rapala. I guess they' be floating baits that'll dive while reeling. Got it.
You ever fished st.Johns river im trying to figure out best colors to use for my lures? I’m pretty new to bass fishing just got my first boat from my grandfather
Thx for this. Been a decade since I last went fishing nailed a 10lb bass 2 weeks ago aint caught anymore since so was trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong with my crank
I’m using just a 10$ set up from walmart and a rapala f-3 but I think it’s a little small has no weight to it.. so just floats on top. Ain’t even been fishin over 20 years, my youngest recently asked me to take her fishing and now I’m practically going everyday. It’s shallow where I’m at.,dirty chocolate milk like this.. don’t know what lure to buy next since the rapala I just bought ain’t doin me any justice but I don’t want to give up on the jerk bait. Anyways I subbed, cool video
Could you do a tip video on pond fishing for bass in heavy seaweed. We have a 7 acre pond in Indiana and fish it daily but still getting caught in seaweed even when fishing a Texas rig...any advice ?
I also fish and live Indiana! Use a frog and cast over the top of and pop the frog 3 pop's stop then two pop's. Wait 2 second before hitting the Bass. If you don't wait he will not be hooked. The bass will turn his head and run. That when you hit him hard. Use a 6'6 medium heavy action Ugly Stick. It will be able to take th e extra weight from the moss. Use heavy mono line or braid. At least 15 pd test. That will do the trick. Shawn
How do the squarebills compare to the round nosed crankbaits and when would you choose one style over another? The pond i fish in is probably between 5-10 feet deep in my preferred type of cover. A little between stained and clear for the water clarity.
I was thinking about getting a square bill crank bait to use at my local pond but I have a few questions. 1. What color should I get. My pond has very stained water. I have seen big bass caught using live bluegill and pumpkinseed so would a bluegill/pumpkinseed color work or is it not bright enough for the fish to see it? I know sexy shad is a very popular color but there is no shad in my pond, so I’m not sure if that is a good option. 2. Also I heard that to create a reaction strike you should let your crank bait bounce off of rocks and logs, but won’t the hooks get snagged? I am on a budget so I am only going to buy one crank bait and don’t want to risk it getting caught on something and breaking off my line Thanks
hey I'm new and still watching through. have you done any videos on understanding reel ratios? if not im down for that. I've never bought a reel based on ratio.
I love crankbaits~ but struggling to figure out how to control the depth of it...when it says a bait dives 2'-5' is that purely based on speed of retrieve? Ie slow retrieve will keep it at 2' while burning it will dive it to 5'?
Do a video where you go to walmart or something and get the "necessities" for a beginner to go fishing
the bear NECESSITIES!
Hook bobber worms there u go lol

I appreciate you taking a min to make tip vids. It really helps to see the tactics in action.
Not very useful when you edit footage to only show the catch.
Would be nice to see how you reel it.
YES! same exact thing i was thinking. i clicked on the video to learn how to reel one.
We Are Borg 478 Just reel it slow but keep ur thumb on the line when u reel it in slow make sure to not push hard

I appreciate how he said theres no real rules for gear. I throw a topwater frog on a 6 foot 6 medium action rod with 50 lb braid
Those crankbait strikes that are almost a top water hit are so fun and surprising.
I really enjoy your videos. I watched your video on different CB techniques and really have upped my game.

Squarebill crankbaits are by far my favorite lure.

So i'm guessing you don't need any weights on your line since the bill on the crankbait makes it sink?
For people who didnt get helped reel in the crank when water is warm and cover ground I've caught over 20 fish in a hour fishing cranks and my pb
