This guy using his old body as his new fusion cannon will never not be the most metal powermove of transformers. I didn't grow up with this guy, but did get the big version early in my adult collecting time, and it's incredible how well the old one holds up. The gimmicks are solid and don't self destruct, the attention to detail in the tank's sculpt to show all the Armada Megatron details is amazing, Just a great bot all around, and the tiny one lives forever on my desk now, since I don't have room for the massive guy now that I snagged a Supreme class Starscream (or whatever that pre-titan class size was called. lol)
This is by far the best Megatron version. I love it, the mini figure is good enough to enjoy this Megatron. Now in Energon he don't wear the sword on the top. The head doesn't flip but the head rotates to hide.
Epic review Jcc2224!!! The original Energon Megatron was my first ever Megatron figure, so the new legacy core class figure has a special place in my heart being the first Energon figure to get a new figure in the Legacy line. :D Fingers crossed for a leader class sized Energon Megatron. Keep on being amazing.
Don’t forget about the tank with blade can slide into the hole behind the cockpit. The blade will be stored in the nosecone when you remove the tank. The button under the cockpit can pushed while the tank is reinserted and will release the blade.
I had Energon Megs and Prime then Cybertron Prime, really really really wanted Cybertron Megs though. Also at that time wanted Armada Megs and Prime, currently I now own Armada Megs so 1 more to the list I've owned. The new Core Class Megs is cool however yes, we much need a new leader Energon Megs and maybe a Commander Prime.
I actually had this Megatron (or Galvatron) when I was about eleven years old. He was quite a big boy, but unfortunately, the translucent emerald plastic cannons started to fall off and shatter on mine, and the tank and sword gone missing as well. Nonetheless, I had fond memories of my Energon Galvy myself, even though he, like many of the larger toys from Armada and Energon, was a total brick of a Transformer with little to no poseability. The Transformers Energon anime stunk, however, thanks to it being unfinished when it was brought to American shores.
I got Energon Megatron right before my nana passed away. Had fun playing with him during the visitation and I regret that I misplaced some of his breakaway components (parts on Transformers designed to pop off smoothly and quickly reattach with ease and gentle handling if stressed too much) from haphazard storage, but I probably will find replacement parts on eBay.
the energon megatron mold has always been my favorite and honestly I have always felt that this mold pairs so much better with cybertron optimus prime, I have almost each of the versions of this figure and my Galaxy force Optimus is proudly displayed nect to my energon leader galvy :)
Idk if anyone said this yet, but the discoloration line on the cockpit is just from the natural oils on your hands and dust/dirt. It’ll build up along any crease like that, especially considering it’s age and how many times you’ve transformed/handled it.
Energon Megatron is one of my favourite designs. The older Super Class is great, but I havent got the ultra class. This new Core class also looks great. Rumour has that Hasbro will release a repaint of the core class into Galvatron later this year.
I own the voyager class ver of old Energon. It's literally just a downscale ver of the leader. Only really different is that green for the clear parts is more of a lime green then copper green.

Got the Voyager of this guy. I don't know that he is different in any way except size and coloration.
I never got a chance to get the original cybertron Megatron as a child but I did get the core class one and I have a lot of fun transforming him to robot and back to jet and I got mine at my local Target store
They're definitely testing the waters to gauge fan reaction given how Energon and Beast Machines are seen as the worst of the franchise (that's actually talked about). A lot of UT designs were bangers, Energon included. I really liked this new design when it first came out, just never got the original toy. But if they ever do release a leader or commander class Galvatron, it'll be more anime accurate since Galvatron gets big for a bit, but not round and the Earth is not apart of him.
I used to have generations jetfire i got it at a garage sale and he had all his weapons except for his g1 mask and he was missing a tailfin and then he was stolen from me years ago but he was one of my favorite figures that i had
Also incredible that I have been trying to get a scale measure of core class energon megatron and legends cybertron optimus (and megatron and starscream) for weeks now for the exact same reason as why you want to pair those versions of those characters. And now just three days after I finally got both mini versions of these do you post this vid :)))
I got this guy entirely based on nostalgia of having a McDonald's toy of Energon Megatron. Idk why that McDonald's toy meant so much to me but here we are.
"he is much more Galvatron-y" That's because he IS Galvatron: in the Japanese originals, Armada Megatron was always called Megatron even after his purple repaint, and this guy was always called Galvatron from the beginning of the show. It's just us Americans with our terrible, rushed and stupid dubs that made everything more confusing.

he's his own fusioncannon?
further proof Megatron and Shockwave have LOTS in common.
the non functioning hinge and general design of the Tank is there because thats supposed to be Armada Megs
YOU'RE RIGHT HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THAT. Probably cuz the pincers aren't there lol
Funfact every energon character in the show are toy scans so by default every single figure are accurate to the show
I wish the core class version had a minicon port/5mm peg somewhere on their chest or abdomen so I could use attach them to other transformers.

Oooh yeah I did forget that. Funny cuz I actually knew that feature as a kid. Oh well no biggie. lol

Fun fact: this guy was called Galvatron in the japanese version, his purple repaint being called Galvatron General.

In Superlink this was Galvatron from the start. Hasbro did this weird trademark thing.

This Tank is homage in himself from TF Armada!
Man that old energon Megatron is so nostalgic
Honestly I love energon megatrons design and I really wanted a new figure of him so I was very surprised when the core class got revealed

I'd love to see a Leader Enegron Megatron, then maybe a core class Armada Megatron that he could use as a weapon
I have the original toy of this still on my shelf he's been with me since same with energon omega supreme as well
I own the voyager class ver of old Energon. It's literally just a downscale ver of the leader. Only really different is that green for the clear parts is more of a lime green then copper green.

Sick stuff

Core Class can lead the formation of g2 Cyberjet molds into battle.

It's a core class figure and budget constraints
Under 1 hour gang
Pleasant Ridge, OH is that in Cincinnati?
Yeah it is!
@@Jcc2224 my city!
Odd question. I see that the sword is clear on yours. Mine is the same colors as the wings. Any idea why?
Looks to be a variant. Clear sword was single release, green sword came packed with an Optimus Prime!
You're complaining about the wings not doing anything lol look how big that guy is for a core class he barely fit in the box
I wasn't complaining as much as I was just pointing it out. It's a comparison I got to. lol
