@Christopher Davis Francis I couldn't believe some moron told a commenter to, " Just relax. His music had been recorded!" What in the actual he!! does that have to do with his passing? Pretty sure his recordings won't keep his wife warm at night or comfort his friends. Hard for me to understand the callous disregard for people's feelings some have but... welcome to YT & the guff of keyboard warriors. They're so big & bad

@ Nancy Bates precisely why those of us who got to see these stars rise owe it to younger people to expose them to as much music in all genres and time periods as possible. It's also vital that schools embrace music classes and maybe back off from sports....I am so blessed to have been the daughter of a woman with extraordinary taste in music. She exposed me to everything from classical to punk. I'm almost 65 now and momma passed on in 1995 and every time I listen to something tasty and esoteric I smile & think .....thanks mom.💖

      “Harlem
What happens to a dream deferred?
      Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
      Or fester like a sore--
      And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
      Or crust and sugar over--
      like a syrupy sweet?
      Maybe it just sags
      like a heavy load.
      Or does it.. explode?"

Everyone on the floor stood on the folding chairs and the other two levels stood up as well for the entire concert. The music was beyond incredible. Beck would look over at Bogart while playing the most amazing riff and smile. It was as though he was saying , “ These hillbillies have no idea what they’re hearing !” Bogart would jump vertically in the air while answering with the bass. It was beyond my attempt to describe. I shall never forget it. May is soul have repass .

As a guitar student of two years at the time, I had heard some of his work with the Yardbirds, but this stopped me in my tracks. The emotional depth and the stunning articulation of the vibrato grabbed me. I wanted to hear more! He was a musician's musician, like Roy Buchanan and Lonnie Mack. Jeff Beck was not only an amazing guitarist, he was an amazing session guitarist. Being a session guitarist means anyone can throw any tune at you can not only get it, but make it better. Beck made a great living as a session guitarist. He didn't have to put up with the drama of a band, or the fame that would have come with him if he had been in the same band for years. He only played with people he *wanted* to play with. I say if you are going to compare Jeff Beck to other guitarists, they should be session guitarists, because he had that extra skill.

Jeff Beck. Two Time Hall Hall of Famer!!
Jeff will always be an iconic guitarist, producer, arranger, performer, & humanitarian.
Jeff single handedly changed the guitar contribution. Strong words. (Everyone knows Jimi's short but profound contribution is what it is)
My first Jeff Beck experience was with his "Wired" recording. I purchased that recording 3X! LP, CD & Remastered CD on Epic. I simply was amazed by All the sound tracks being great in their own right.
Ofcourse, I had to purchase and wear out the grooves of "Blow By Blow" as well.
There are so many Great recordings by Jeff. He was ahead of his time as a guitarist. Ahead of Great Carlos Santana. Ahead of Great John McLaughlin. Ahead of Great Al Di Meola. Four of my top five.
Jeff Beck has transcended and left us all so much material to binge on and appreciate and enjoy. I've been binging on Jeff Beck since our tremendous lost.
Thank you Jeff. Thanks for the great contributions to my Soundtrack of Life.

Jeff Beck seemed to just get better & never stopped improving. Jeff Beck played with the band & not just for himself which helped make all his bands sound so great. Out of the 3 YB guitarist his music & albums were always a great surprise to listen too & never seem to grow old, always sounding fresh. I always looked & waited for Beck's new album to come out because I knew it would be something new & exciting. Beck seem to be a very kind man & I never heard him say a bad word about anyone.

Tks to the editor for this tribute. The facts speak for themselves... what to say ? It seems already said in the comments. For us music lovers it's a big loss as Jeff still surprised on stage till nowadays. Guitar god, guitar hero ... I am not fan of such huge labeling. In my understanding he was truly a music's musician. A servant of his art in best. I appreciated his live performances and improvisations, it seems it just flows out of him so easily without the need to think about the next notes. His natural expression impressed me most and it was a joy to see the strat as a natural extension of his body. My condolences go to his family and close friends. R.I.P.

We were briefly at school with Jeff Beck when he was 14 and we were all 13 years old. His mother had got him back in school for another year. One afternoon during the lunch hour, at Sutton East Secondary School, waiting for the bell to go. We were all sat down, when Jeff walked in, with a jumble of wood and bits and pieces, and he marched to the back of the room where the storeroom door was open and sat on the floor cross legged. The boys at the back were next to him, happened to be the lads who got on with him the best. He had wires and bits of what looked like rulers, and I do not know how he made the sounds he made but he made about six blues notes; I was startled, because I learnt piano from my concert and jazz playing mother, just as Jeff Beck had done from his concert piano trained mother and at the time, I could not understand for the life of me, understand how he created those notes, because small radios had not been invented yet. It was 1958-9. I went home at lunch time all excited and thought to myself, a I walked back for the afternoon session. "One day Jeff you will be famous!" but it was more than fame that Jeff Beck achieved in his lifetime- it was a new way of playing the guitar that was uniquely His. He wanted to do what I wanted to do on the piano. He definitely did that, in his own unique way, and did it spectacularly, as time went on. Now he is recognised and is playing on a cloud somewhere up in the Heavens. Cynthia Allen-McLaglen
