Great Video with good info on how a CVT works. I'm just getting started rebuilding a neglected Crossfire with my son. Any good leads on where I can find one of those reverse cams that fits a D post as opposed to a splinded one? I'll be watching and rewatching all you vids as we bring our old kart back to life.

How well did the lightning bolt ramps work out on the clutch?

Great content. I just picked one up and this will be incredibly helpful. It clunks the transmission, especially when it goes from reverse to forward. It walks away, we shut it down, and restart in forward gingerly. It still trips as it winds up, any suggestions?? It also burns a little oil, not much, but a whole day running will be fine, just need to check level and top off at that rate. Please help me out if possible. Much appreciated!

That collar with the ramps are commonly called the "helix" in the snowmobile CVT world. Idea is the more aggressive the angle the slower it will upshift and vice versa. Like you seen on the NCY some have progressive ramps. From the math I have done the slower you can make it shift the better, the GY6 was never designed to be run with such a tall gearing and big tires like the buggy world uses them for, the "overdrive" in the CVT is extremely excessive.

I'm getting a smooth but not so smooth jump on my Reaction 150cc every couple of seconds like skipping teeth but obviously not and only at 75% to 100% throttle... Replaced both clutchs and belt then transmission gears bearings and shafts and still does the same thing I'm so stumped

It's usually the reverse gear cable adjustment. It can be skipping in the planetary gear/sun gear. Check and make sure it fully disengages and make sure your idle isn't set too high
