I could be wrong, but just from the close up of you revving it with it off the atv, it really looks like the variator you got doesnt have hardly enough travel closing to actually make good use of the cvt. Most scooter variators have more than an inch of travel along the boss to close, yours looks to only go a fraction of that. Its a cool idea with how you did it, but i think if you used an actual scooter variator itd have way more range and ratios
if you loosen that belt a little bit, you'll notice a huge improvement in the gear ratio change. you have to leave those belts on those cvt's loose, it allows for the gear ratio change. it starts out where the engine pulley is small, & the back pulley is large. as the RPMs increase, the front pulley becomes big, and the back pulley becomes small. this is your gear ratio change, and you should be able to see the CVT belt changing as this happens. yours doesn't move, I think it's just too tight it stays in one spot. should notice a 10 to 20 mile an hour increase, and still have the takeoff torque. but yeah, you have to loosen that belt.
And for rear wheel he need same gear ratio (for chain) i think same size gears because cvt output is already for wheel different gears for changes speed and consumed more fule

Welding of chain drive to the shaft is not a good practice. If the keyways both the drive shaft and chain drive are damaged then replacement is necessary. If you want you can repair or restore the damaged parts.
That is not cvt. You are just in a low gear. Not variable transmission. You only used the clutch fuction of the torque drive on a cvt. The drive pulley on the engine shaft is not variable, the torque drive is variable. Thus you can see the belt is Shaking during idle. Belt is loose and only tightens when you rev up. You will kill your belt during high rpm.
That's not a real CVT system that is just a clutch that engages. a real CVT system is also a transmission that changes gear ratio though the RPM range. on a real CVT system. the sheaves of the primary clutch move together pushing the belt to the outside of the sheaves. while doing the opposite on the secondary clutch. this system did not do that. it might be that the primary clutch and secondary clutch were misaligned. it is absolutely crucial that the primary and secondary clutches are aligned perfectly. I know this from many years of working on snowmobiles that use CVT systems. in fact they make special template tools for aligning the clutches when working on these systems.
WHy didnt you just use a piece of tubing with washers welded to each end to bolt the sprocket on instead of welding it? I guess it's never going to need changing anyway, so carry on..

Hola amigo si se piede adaptar. Sólo corta parte del cigueñal o ve con un Tornero y que te haga un buje con cuñero y lo conectas directamente. Es menos rollo y aprovechas casi toda la transmisión.

Thsi is exactly what I want to do to my trailmaster 300 but use the chinese clutch and a 780r front clutch.
