Learm to work with the electronics. Yes, you will see most streamers and pro driving with low TC, low ABS, but it is not the safest nor the fastest way to get good results. What matters more is consistency and race craft. Increase that TC to 6/1, still modulate as if it was not there to avoid engaging it. At the end when you will be fighting you won't have to worry about your car control, when you will be fighting for your first podium position last corner, what matters will not be who has the lowest TC value, but who can focus on racecrafting alone, and feeling sure that you have the car control (worse case scenario the TC will be there to help you if you just step on that throttle !) will give you that little edge. Then as you gain confidence over time you can reduce it and adjust it on the go, depending on the corner, the length of the stint, track condition... Do not feel ashamed to use that assist or thinking it will make you a worse driver, just for an ego reason, those cars have assists for a reason. I see to many beginners just using low TC "just because my fav streamer do so". Then when they are side by side fighting with someone the drama happens: it's contact and not only did they ruined their race, but someone else's too, and in LFM it can mean further penalties... More often than not it was a loss of control, because they could not have 100% of their focus on car control...
Hey! Thanks for the tip! I agree about the use of TC and ABS. Like you said, it's there for a reason! That being said, I have tried multiple settings and I find I have the best speed/ pace with TC 4...If I add any more, I can feel the car limiting the throttle too much and I'm loosing time. If I have anything lower than TC 4, then it gets a bit tricky to control (also not good). But it also depends on the track... The same goes for ABS, but I would say that it's probably a good idea to increase it a little bit during a battle for positions...Just to keep everything steady and avoid something that happened on my latest video...
I kinda expected you to do well in your first race, a lot of people just jump into their first race, but you put a lot of effort before yours, great job recovering and keeping it nice and smooth. About the incident, i think you dive a little bit late, but the gap was there and it was big enough, i think it was mostly a lack of awereness by the other car, but it is expected in this stage you guys are racing
@@Achillefsgiannisis The best advice I can give you : be patient. Result will come, overtake will happen. LFM races are like public lobby (but with moderation) : you do not know who you race with. Take your time before doing any move, observe the drivers around you, their behavior, their lap times and also an important factor in an online game : their ping. Yes, it might be tempting to just dive in any gap especially in the first few laps, but more often than not it will not end well, because you don't know them and they don't know you. Does it mean you might get stuck behind someone slower sometime that just blocks you ? Yes. Does it mean others might just send it left and right without any respect ? Yes, but you can also anticipate that. You see a crazy guy dive bombing you ? Let him go he will most likely crash later on with someone else. And as said, if you observe someone with a red ping, just give that car wide space, better be safe than having a "fake" contact due to netcode issue.
The 2 minute practice session isnt supposed to be driven, its just for everyone to join. You can actually get a penalty for trying to do laps in practice.

Hahah yeah the practice sessions and AI races definitely helped! And yeah, maybe I was a little too optimistic about my move in the beginning
