Just came across this by luck. Great presentation and commentary, appreciate the emphasis on owning up to mistakes and learning from them. Unfortunate incident with the Mclaren. I admire you for actually trying to do what many people have always wanted with this series! Good luck on your racing journey!
The last lap incident was not your fault, mclaren was moving under braking which is illegal and 'reactive defending', so you shouldn't feel bad about it, it was all him
the late on the brake strategy into the inside is a tricky one man, if he is in front of you he is not obligated to decelerate at all, his only concern is to give you minimum of 1 car length space if you are really close, your concern behind someone firstly is your own survival in the race, secondly know when to overtake because if you cannot gap them right away stay in their draft and use it to your advantage. In longer races avoid fighting for positions if you start midpack, work the best you can with other drivers to catch the leaders. you can answer a lot of your questions by watching the pro series and see what they do differently than you as well.
forgot to mention this towards SPA, TC0 at Spa going up Eau Rouge is a must also for race apart from ferrari otherwise you just losing time, for the rest during the race in Lambo TC1 is fine if you feel uncomfy with it then TC2-3 race everywhere but Eau Rouge
I get what you mean...but it's just risky if you ever lose your focus...I tried setting TC 0 for Eau Rouge consistently for 45 minute races but at one point I forgot to set it back to TC 3-4 and that cost me a lot more time, than if I had just kept TC on. Maybe using TC 0 can be a final option if you can't gain on the car ahead otherwise. But maybe I just need more practice to keep my focus at all times. We'll see!
@@Achillefsgiannisis I have TC 0 set on my wheel real close to my left thumb and TC1 set close to my right thumb so as soon as I get past Eau it’s back on 1. Muscle memory and practice you get used to it. TC0 up the Eau rouge allows you do it flat-out ultimately you’ll be carrying more speed into the kemmel straight that should give you a total 40s ish sector 1
Map the traction control to your wheel along with your ABS and brake bias if they want to defend give them a bump and let them know you mean business nothing harsh enough to send them flying just a little bump saying I'm faster than you
Hahah i hope you don’t mean in the breaking zone😂. I’m thinking of flashing my lights at the car in front if I’m really close (to let them know I mean business).

You have made some pretty good points! I will do my homework next time to be more prepared.
