@carminedesanto6746 Yeah, it's all about the quality, not the quantity. Quantity is easy. Quality is a whole different story. 🎧👍🙂

Shane a mea culpa in my comments from 2 days ago I said Auvas did not work under my un-sprung Hydraulic Reference turntable. I did not clarify that I used 4 x Auva 50's as an experiment. The Stack Audio literature clearly states that footers for loud speakers like the Auva 50's should be coupled to the floor & equipment Auva EQ's should be decoupled from any support. I screwed up on decoupling the Auva 50's from the support. I do feel a bit ****** & I apologise to Theo & Josh.

That's ok. Fortunately, you've got a wonderful guy there in Josh who will be only too happy to help you.👍🙂🎧

Shane, I have a different perspective on the benefits of subwoofers. After years of using just one subwoofer, located just like you to the side of my listening seat, this year I added another active subwoofer. This time I placed it between the floorstanders, incidentally all 4 from the same manufacturer. The bass quality has obviously improved, but the biggest change was the improvement in soundstage. I had already used the Stack Audio EQs under all my equipment, and I already had the AUVA 70s under my loudspeakers . Now that I have added the AUVA 50s under the subs, the effect was immediate, just like before when I would add the EQs or other AUVAs, the clarity and sense of spaciousness, all resulting in increased musicality , were clearly noticeable, particularly the following day , when the particles in the AUVAs had time to settle. Which raises an interesting question about your tests. Whenever you removed the AUVAs from your sub, and then reinserted them, did you allow for the particles to readjust ?. If not, the differences , I suspect, would have been even greater

@Victor-f4s Hi Victor, thanks for your comment, and I essentially agree with all of your findings. What I'm noticing in my room is much improved soundstage depth, width, height, and articulation after the Stack products have been introduced into my system.
So I think we are both singing from the same hymn sheet. In my video, I did place more emphasis on the disengagement of the floor with the Auva 100s underneath my Wilson subwoofer.
In relation to the installation of the Alva 100s I recorded all three tracks first on the casters then I did the installation of the Alva 100s and recorded the same three tracks around a week later so giving ample time for them to settle in.👍🎧🙂

Shane another good video, As I have a laminated floor & interleaving over a multi layer sprung floor over a concrete void in our brick built insulated cavity walls, I do not have a subwoofer however as I tried Auva 50's 70's & 100's under my Quad 57 electrostatics/Rupert stands the vibration in the floor though never any bloom even at 80hz decreased & the bass at each step with Auva 100's my normally bare feet feel nothing. In the room the bass gradually got deeper better defined & layered I feel deep bass in my chest treble/mid's more ambiance notes start & stop on a pin point. Like you I have Auva EQ's under the rest of the system but not my un-sprung Hydraulic Reference turntable on a paving stone in a brick alcove they worked to well & sucked the life out of it.

Thanks, John, for your excellent and interesting comments. I've not heard of that happening with the Auva eq's and your turntable before now. Analogue is a tricky area. I have heard of people doing things they were convinced would help their turntable reproduction when only to find out things went backwards, so I guess this is one of those things.
      Thanks for the feedback👍🎧🙏

Enjoy the HiFi show mate! I’m looking forward to the live content!
Loud bass is easy, quality bass is hard. Sounds like the right upgrade 💪💪💪

Have you looked into the benefits of a super tweeter? I've done some research, so I decided to order a pair of MuRat A-103's. If your'e interested, I'll let you know the results. It seems "high-end" systems benefit the most from the added tweaks. Right now my system is perfect for me, but I'm looking for "more" perfect.

Thanks, Shane, excellent review! I have just tried out the Auva 50's under my aged, but still very good (to my ears), Linn Akurate 242-floorstanders. The sound definitely improved, but there are still issues in the bass (also soft suspended wooden flooring here, albeit in a 90-year old house 😁).
A set of Auva 70 is therefore currently in transit, but this review makes me wonder whether I should actually take the full leap with the Auva 100's..? 🤔
Enjoy the audio show while I consider my next step 🙂

@mr.hansen5195 Hi there, yes I understand your dilemma. I have similar floors in my house and isolation/ decoupling is really the answer, of course there could be issues with room modes and whether you're using room treatment of any kind, all of this makes it difficult for me to then be definitive in my advice. Keep in mind that they are all contributing factors in getting a good soundstage and good lower octave articulation.🙂👍🎧

Good day Shane, wanted to know which product you preferred under your amp. Stack audio or live vibe?

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@ericelmore887 Hi Eric, out of the two you mentioned, they're both quite close, but I would say I'm settling with Stack Audio. I think it's made a slightly bigger difference.👌👍

So AUVA footers were on subwoofer test track 2, 3, and 5. I picked track version 1 over track version 2; track version 4 over track version 3; and track version 6 over track version 5. And yes, I forgot the entire purpose of the subwoofer installation in Shane’s system was not to provide MORE bass but to REMOVE a mid-bass frequency bump. Had I remembered that point then clearly my preferences would have been flipped. Yeah, I know. I’m flipping positions. It’s political season in the USA. I’m permitted. At least I’m consistent. 🤡

@dragocelander6671 It's all good, Dan. That's why I wanted to go into detail around what I was hearing in the room. This was difficult because of what TH-cam does to the lower octave with the compression they have to do for bandwidth. You lose so much of the low octave nuance, that I was trying to get across what was happening here in the room. But from a personal point of view, it's been an absolute win sonically in the room for what I was looking to improve.🎧👍🙂
