During the comparative review of the two units, the narrator forgot to mention one additional tactical advantage Airwolf has over the Apache, which is the cool music pumped from hidden loudspeakers anytime Airwolf is put into Full Combat Mode.
Even though I'm an Airwolf fan I'd have to say it's ultimately come down to the respective crew of each craft and their intimate knowledge of their craft.
Damn I wish my Paw-Paw could see this video game. He was a helicopter pilot out of Ft. Rucker; used to always watch Airwolf together in the 80's-90's. RIP Paw Paw.
Also,The Apache couldn't play hiding games. Airwolf would know before he was in range. They have Sonar and Radar so pretty much its the Batman of the Helicopter world.
In a real-world scenerio, if Airwolf existed... it would have rendered the Ah-64 useless in a shorter time than this. Airwolf used a pilot and a weapons control operator that quite frankly is enough of an advantage in itself not even considering the armament that Airwolf carries. 5 Apaches vs Airwolf maybe could have rendered a better contest.

The pilot controls the chain gun on the Apache. The front position does targeting and surveillance. The hellfire missiles are laser guided built for ground attack. The rocket pods are for unguided ground attack. Stingers and Sparrows are the Apache's best air to air attack. The 30mm chain gun is the equalizer in many circumstances faced by the Apache. Good job in the video. It went how I would have perceived. The glaring questionable part is if the 30mm would penetrate Airwolf's armor. Being in real life the 30mm round takes out tanks and other armored vehicles, I would have to say yes. It was nice to see both in theoretical combat.
Great job on the Stinger missiles what are the best for that combat cause longbow can have to pop up and hit the target and the other one and hit the target from anywhere as well the Airwolf and hit the target from anywhere as well it has to pop up and hit the Apache and the Apache has to pop up and hit it they're both bondable to carry Stinger missiles

Airwolf for the win. I love the Apache, but it's no comparison to the Lady. Honestly, even if the Apache was winning its top speed is 296 mph. Airwolf is over 1,000mph even at it's alleged limitation the Apache couldn't catch it. One more thing, Airwolf can be comfortably piloted by one man. That was showcased in " Shadow of the Hawk." Airwolf is all around OP balanced with assault and defensive capabilities. Topped with superior handling and speed there is no way the Apache would win.
Lads got a challenge for you, Dreams is a game we're you can design your own games characters etc, in VR as well. I'm going to attempt to make an Airwolf VR experience, if you've got it would consider collaboration.
Game engine use. Variables are redundant in this type of scenario. Unless you could actually write a program with close to possible real life variables this depends on the user not the helicopter it's self.
Ehhh I wouldn't be too sure about the combat lasers. It's 2020, lasers weapons on fighter jets will very soon not be sci-fi anymore. Yes we're not quite there yet but they are already well passed the drawing board stage and waiting to be be mounted on later versions of current 5th gen fighters. They will be standard on 6th gen fighters and drones. But I get it. You're basing the weapons loadout of Airwolf on seasons 1-3. I'm not too keen on season 4 myself.
I think instead of lasers, we would be using particle weapons on aerial combat platforms, such as Plasma Weaponry and maybe even Phasers. The "lasers" that we think about in the Star Wars franchise are actually a type of Plasma cannon.
We (Airwolf fans) don't like to talk about season 4. It's generally considered non-canon. Though, Redwolf (Airwolf II) in season 3 had a laser. Personally, I think a proper Airwolf for the 2020s would be a railgun that could be calibrated to the target, by the computer's density scanner (original Airwolf lore says it has this), so that the issue of shooting too far beyond the target wouldn't be so much of a problem.

One only has to look at the AH56 Cheyenne to understand the physics behind a compound helicopter. Everything about Airwolf wouldn't work. It double blade rotary system wouldn't hold a candle to the four bladed performance of the Apache. Airwolf would fail to fly properly because of an effect known as retreating blade stall. The AH56 had a four bladed rigid rotary system, perfect for a compound helicopter. Just look at Airwolf with it's two bladed, conventional rotary system. It pails in comparison. AirWolf would rip itself apart at those speeds in reality, do nominal speeds and armament comparison and maneuverability. Apache wins every time.
You are correct. But the most important part of what made Airwolf so dangerous was it's pilot. Even so, the point of Airwolf was the idea of a weapons system that nobody else on the planet had with advantages that would tip the scales of power to whomever possessed it. That's a very powerful idea. It's like the Iron Man armor, remember in Iron Man 2 how Stark was dragged to a congressional hearing because of it? Imagine an attack aircraft that can defeat multiple 5th generation fighters and ground based targets with near impunity. World powers would have a conniption fit!
If you allow for the existence of Airwolf, then you have to play by her rules. Airwolf is not just a fancy chopper. She is a precision-crafted prototype designed by an insane super-genius, built by a super-black ops government agency with nearly unlimited resources, and exhibits technologies we still have yet to catch up to.
