Cool to see a review from an MTB rider. Most gravel riders will call this bike heavy. I think it may be the right all arounder with an advantage given to off road travel
Thanks Cory, it was a fun bike but I’m definitely not comfortable on a bike like that on mountain bike trails. Like I mentioned in the video, I think if you put strait bars and a dropper on this bike it could appeal to a new and wider audience. I get that’s not what the company is trying to do with the Poseidon Redwood. Thanks for watching!!!!
Thanks for watching. Yes this bike was great for these trails. With the exception of the drop bars it’s a great set up. Poseidon actually added a straight bar option to this bike. I haven’t been on the new set up but I’d imagine it would ride great on these kinds of trails.
nice review. the redwood in an awesome adventure bike for sure. im loving mine. its such a great platform to build on. fyi the drive train is made my microshift the model is advent x.
Thanks Jeff, Agreed, great adventure bike. Also thanks for the info about the components on the bike. I missed the distinction when reviewing the website details. Thanks for watching.
I did just the same today, have had low end mountain bikes before and last bike was a carbon specialized Crux (cx bike) which was nice for commuting, but just too limited for the trails.
Hey Thanks for the view and reply. As a mountain biker with no gravel bike experience, this bike was interesting and unfamiliar!! It climbs so well but the moment it pointed in a downward direction I was terrified! Personal opinion is all I can offer. I think it could be a great explanation bike with a fork and a dropper seat. Thanks again for watching
I find it very stable during descents on the drops. Try it, and the brakes are more accessible in that position too. Totally agree this bike loves to climb. I attribute it to the awesome advent x groupset.
Thanks for the suggestion, I think you’re 100% correct. Braking i the dropped position would be better, I was struggling with the “FEELING” of being forward on hate bike and my but up higher then my shoulders. Very Strange position coming from an aggressive GEO Mountain Bike. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
Hey Charles. Thanks for watching and commenting. I felt like this bike was really well built, strong frame and good wheels. I think you could ride as hard as was comfortable for you. On shorter rides you can pound away but I think on a long ride the bike would beat you up a bit. Your only suspension here is the tires so on an aggressive trail your arms and legs are doing all the work in terms of suspension. If you normally ride on the road then this shouldn’t be an issue. Since I released this episode, Poseidon has come out with a straight bar version of this bike. A great option for riders interested in a more mountain bike like experience. Ordered it before watching any reviews, my first bike of this kind, I’m pretty much a beginner but it sounds great, looking forward to it!

Thanks for the review.. Pragmatic, informative and helpful. A fox suspension fork on this would be really interesting.

Hey! There is a tree right there, look out! Haha! Great video, mate!
That tree was mean! It jumped right in front of me!

The wheels leave much to be desired. Great value even with the brakes and wheels. Good platform to build on.
Thanks. This review had the exact information I was looking to know, I.e. how aggressive could I use this bike.

I agree with you that it’s pretty scary taking this bike downhill lol! I’m considering adding a dropper post
What trail is this?
Williams Preserve in South Eastern Triangle (Raleigh Area)
@@SAMTB y I’m from the area so it looked familiar.
What size? small, medium, large?
Hey Jay, The bike I rode was a large. I am 5'10" with a 32" inseam. Felt like a pretty good fit for me.
Thanks for watching!
Looks like a fun bike on a gravel road or the greenway. Not trails lol.
Makes a mild ride a wild ride🤪
You Ain't kidding!!
it's not a mountain bike
