Wow, it felt amazing to ride some of my old local dirt roads in a nice big group ride on a brand new gravel bike. FYI, this video was filmed back in June when I first arrived back in the US.
I am looking at this bike as well, and would like to know your thoughts specifically regarding the size Large frame, and how you felt it fit your 6ft size.
I miss my kona bad, major jake, makes me sick, maybe i should get a poisoden x wonder if ide like, am supposed to get an ebike but kinda thinking maybe be better to get witbout a motor, just a really light hardtail or gravel bike
I was just asking Thuong how you was keeping the other week and a lot of other people did as well. She made a nice video last week I think i5 was. So it was a nice surprise to see you again. It makes my Sundays when I see you Both. I hope your keeping well
I have a full suspension mountain bike for the gnarly trails and a track bike for my daily commute but I think I need a gravel bike to fill the void. I'm really liking the X Ambition and the price seems like a no-brainer.
Nice to see a video from you. Loved seeing this as you looked like you were in your element. Those gravel roads look good as well. Where I live they are doing away with the gravel which is probably a good thing because you have to keep them up so people don't mess up their vehicles. It was a bummer that you couldn't do the whole ride as that would have been fun to see. Hope you had fun with the family and enjoyed yourself while you were here. Great video.
Awesome bike. I bought a Mongoose Grit almost a year ago. I bought it to upgrade and tinker with. I came with a Mircoshift 2x7 speed. Turned it into a 1x with a 44 tooth chain ring. It has a 13 to 34 tooth cassette and it's a decent gearing ratio for paved road. I pimarily use it for coummting and wanted to keep the speed. Hills are a little challenging but it certainly has strengthened my legs. Over the winter months I'm going to upgrade it to the Microshift Advent X 10 speed you have on your bike. I already have the wheelset and shifters just need derailleur and cassette. Great ride!!
Cruise... morning...hope the crazy wind chill weather is passed you.. I heard a “What’s up.. I guess you found an old riding buddy. Have blessed 2024 you n Thuong
Just took a vacation to Michigan a few weeks ago-went to Benton harbor, Ludington, Mackinaw city & Mackinac Island. I have never seen so many bicycles in my life as I did on the island. Nice state, lots of sand. 😂
Welcome back to Rochester! I’m from the area as well, thinking about finding an X Ambition to use on those exact same back roads! Already frequent the Stoney trails with a XC MTB bike so think this should be a nice complement to the fleet
Could you expand on the 1x not giving quite the cadence you want for some gradients ? Was that spinning out the highest gear or that the gears available weren't granular enough ?
Liked and followed for the continued Poseidon X Ambition content. Ordered mine and still waiting for arrival. I'm planning to take it on an concrete/gravel rail trail here in South Central PA. The trail spans down to maryland. Very excited to explore considering I live in a very metropolitan city and the trail is the closest way to get out into thick woods.
I've never been to Michigan and I had no idea there were roads like this anywhere in the USA. It's pretty interesting to see a built up grid suburb with unpaved roads. I'm curious how they manage to maintain these raods without them getting completely destroyed with ruts and potholes.
Yeah it's sorta weird. Michigan is just like this. Especially north. The gravel roads are really surprisingly smooth, though they do get potholes and washboard bumps sometimes. The procedure as I understand it is literally just adding gravel to low spots. Sometimes it's a slurry. The maintenance is definitely more frequent than paved roads but it's easier.
your videos have me thinking of getting an x ambition for riding around pasadena ca but i think i might wait until the new microshift sword becomes standard
My First Gravel Bike Ride - Poseidon X Ambition Gravel Bike Review. The video has impressive details and is very realistic. Watched the video on Sep 12, 2023 very like. Thank you
if you get house road still dirt like that i bet it really dusty in the summer. remind me the old house of mine. clay dust flying everywhere when wind blowing
I can’t say I’m a fan of sprawling American suburbs; and I wish they would let the grass grow and have the wildflowers come through. But it does look better with the dirt roads. I like that aspect. I would say welcome back, but this video was filmed months ago so maybe I’ll leave that for the next one XD
Hi, nice hands-on review!! Quick question, have you found the bike a bit challenging on steeper climbs? I did my first gravel race last weekend (first race altogether) and I found myself struggling on climbs. I'm not sure if it's me, or the bike itself. The bike is SOLID otherwise. Love to get your perspective because I was getting lapped by people left and right. Even tough I finished 35th out of around 100 riders.
Just for fun, I checked the bikes and whether they ship to Germany and actually ship at no extra charge. Wow. Did you buy it or got it for free to do a review?
Great group ride! I wish we had more level roads on the West coast now I'm older! Question- Do you anticipate any negativity in general towards your wife when she comes over to the US? I'm in a similar situation (except she's Thai)
Wow, u train 13 hours per week is still only half of the amount of training I’m doing now for pickleball. Hope to play in sanctioned tournament next month. Glad to see doing well and really hope Thuong will join you soon for an American feast with no noodles :-)

Why the long silence ❓...we missed your rides with Thoung. Update us on your life😊😊
Yeah, you said solstice ride and I was thinking “it’s almost the equinox” 🤔
I am looking at this bike as well, and would like to know your thoughts specifically regarding the size Large frame, and how you felt it fit your 6ft size.
Finally a Gravelbike Review! I own a Kona Rove. I am loving it and Ride around Europe with it! 🚴🏻👏👋
Nice!
I miss my kona bad, major jake, makes me sick, maybe i should get a poisoden x wonder if ide like, am supposed to get an ebike but kinda thinking maybe be better to get witbout a motor, just a really light hardtail or gravel bike
Thanks! I have to ask you do you miss the biking in Japan you always look liked you had a better time there. Stay safe 👍
I was just asking Thuong how you was keeping the other week and a lot of other people did as well. She made a nice video last week I think i5 was. So it was a nice surprise to see you again. It makes my Sundays when I see you Both. I hope your keeping well
Feels good to be back 😊
Someone was having a great time ! I bet Thuong will loe cycling in Michigan !😊
She’s excited for the mtb trails here
Thanks for purrring out another riding video, looking forward to more!
Great that you are back. Hope all is well. Take care.
Thank you 😊
Great to see the uploads again! Hoping you and Thuong are doing well during this transition.
Thank you 😊
Glad to see you are back. It will be very interesting to see videos in the US.
It’s a big change of scenery for sure

Thanks! This group set has been doing very well but I still prefer 2x
I'm glad you did the follow-up up ride. I have the poseidon x and love it. I did upgrade the brakes on it, which makes it so much better.
It's such a pleasure to see you and hear your voice
Good to be back 😊
Welcome back Cruise 🎉
Living in EPTX now and I miss riding and racing gravel in southwest Michigan. Gravel friendly state for sure!!! Definitely on the retirement list…
Cruise... morning...hope the crazy wind chill weather is passed you.. I heard a “What’s up.. I guess you found an old riding buddy.
Have blessed 2024 you n Thuong
How nice if Thuong gets to experience this gravel ride too 🙏

Hope you enjoyed your trip! I can’t wait to take Thuong there
Great to see another new video mate! 🚴🏻
🤙
Great video as always 🚲🚴
Was wondering how tall you are and what size bike you went with? wondering if i ordered the wrong size
Welcome back to Rochester! I’m from the area as well, thinking about finding an X Ambition to use on those exact same back roads! Already frequent the Stoney trails with a XC MTB bike so think this should be a nice complement to the fleet
This bike is really good for these kinds of dirt roads.
Just ordered mine today. Hope it's not too late to catch the good season in the Midwest before too much snow.
Awesome! This is the best time of year to ride
Could you expand on the 1x not giving quite the cadence you want for some gradients ? Was that spinning out the highest gear or that the gears available weren't granular enough ?
The gear jumps between gears sometimes are too large compared to 2x
Got more info on the group ride/club that you rode with today? Asking for a friend, she's currently on vacation somewhere in Michigan.
What's the average speed of this group?
Maybe about 16-20 mph
@@TwoWheelCruise Good recovery ride.
I don't like my group ride because my group average speed is 8-9 mph
Nice to see you both back making videos!. After living so long overseas, how is the adjustment ? I've lived 30 years in Taiwan.

GAP and C&O Trails? I'm looking at the X Ambition how do you like yours a year in?
Do you feel you you still can pedal at a consistent good pace on flats?

They grade them regularly i believe
They grade them regularly. Without grading, the roads become washboards.
I put surly Moloko bars on my gravel bike, very comfortable.
Gravel road heaven. Are there any good climbs in the area? Looking forward to more videos.
Lots of gravel but no climbs really over 2 minutes unfortunately
your videos have me thinking of getting an x ambition for riding around pasadena ca but i think i might wait until the new microshift sword becomes standard

Yes it can get pretty dusty especially in a group
Wow, road not paved in the USA? Does Michigan not have enough money to pave the roads?
I can’t say I’m a fan of sprawling American suburbs; and I wish they would let the grass grow and have the wildflowers come through. But it does look better with the dirt roads. I like that aspect. Haha thanks! Yeah, the dirt roads make the suburbs more bearable 😂
What happened to the fixed gear?Did you bring it with you to America?
I hope everything is going well
Sold in Japan before we left

What’s a micro shifter ?
I live in Massachusetts, so wild to see residential neighborhoods with dirt roads. Don't see that here.
Oh interesting. We have a bunch here
I've ridden a Poseidon X (not ambition) for years now, it's been great. Only weak spot is the brakes. Maybe they're better on the Ambition.
Ted, from the famous words of Jonh McClaine "Welcome to the party, Pal!"
How do you like microshift compared to shimano or sram? I always thought they were beneath the other two
I also have SRAM etap which I prefer but my Microshift bike is great. I actually like it more than Shimano 😅
You on north Michigan bro
I’m from a city called Rochester also but not in Michigan.
Great group ride! I wish we had more level roads on the West coast now I'm older! Question- Do you anticipate any negativity in general towards your wife when she comes over to the US? I'm in a similar situation (except she's Thai)
How fast is the bike
Microshift has a good reputation together with its low cost advantage.
I couldn't ride with that many people so close 😮
Very nice place, michigan
It sure is
Hi there, have yuo and Though Pan separated already? I havent seen you in a vlog together for quite sometime already.
Cruise is in America preparing everything for our move to America this year. This weekend we will meet in Vietnam.
@@TwoWheelCruise very happy to hear that. I always enjoy watching your ride together.
DId you move to the US?
I’m still planning to go back to Vietnam for a bit before we officially move here
I've been looking for a bike computer that is not very expensive. What are your picks for one?
Safer ride than Vietnam.
Gravel roads yes
I thought i could just put gravel tires on my mountain bike ?
Wow, u train 13 hours per week is still only half of the amount of training I’m doing now for pickleball. Hope to play in sanctioned tournament next month. Glad to see doing well and really hope Thuong will join you soon for an American feast with no noodles :-)
When is your wife coming to USA? Thank you
When her green card application finishes
its a gravel bike... its meant to get dirty
You dump the wife? Worried about it
“Gravel” 😂
😂
While your racing around in the USA your Wife Thuong is in Asia on her own ?? unusual to say the least .
Calm down there turbo
They moved to Vietnam to be close to her family so it's only fair that he be able to visit his.
dafuq?
The propensity for people to think a youtubers personal life is their business is neurotically creepy. Parasocial relationships aren't real.
