Nice video! I just went through the manual tool height setter yesterday! Come to find out all of this time I've been having issues was NOT the probe but the ETS!!! I used the manual tool height setter and finally completed parts to spec. Great content Bud, as always appreciate the time you take posting these helpful videos. When in doubt keep things simple is what I learned. I can finally move forward. I think all of the kinks have been worked out.

tdg911 - That is awesome news. Glad to hear you sorted the issues out and are making parts!

Thanks for showing this, can you do a quick one on multiple Work Offsets (varying Z heights of work piece)

twinpeaksco - Thanks for the comment and the video idea. I will try that mouth together an example of that. I did joy have one vise so have not used that yet but have seen it in Fusion and believe I know how to do it. Will be a good test.

@@BladesIIB looking forward to it. I’m trying to move away from setting Z off top of part and instead using a touch off probe at a fixed height on the bed. Im getting hung up when I try it

@@twinpeaksco4101 see if this answers what you are looking for. The first section is setting one probe point in Fusion and then machining a couple different parts from that same probed location. The rest covers multiple work offsets like 2 vises and then using the pattern feature to duplicate parr’s in design and duplicate manufacturing steps. Hope this helps. th-cam.com/video/2L07zBwa928/w-d-xo.html

@@BladesIIB as luck would have it Titan just put a video out about 3 days ago on multiple Z height g54 g55 and I think I can get my head around it now. Thanks for the help

I've been watching your videos and plan to order a machine in the next few days. Do you use the Haimer still or have you switched to using the passive probe now? My dealer has suggested I buy the probe to start but I am concerned that it will add more confusion as I am new to CNC milling. The Haimer seems to be less complicated although I understand it is less capable in some ways and will require a more hands on approach. Thanks for your advice!

RCP57 - First off, congrats on the new machine order and thanks for the question. I do still use the Haimer and love it enough, I have never even considered the electronic probe. So since I have not used the electronic I have no idea what capability I am giving up? And as for hands on, I am also not sure you lose anything with the Haimer? I believe you still have to insert the other probe each time and since it has a cord, I think you have the extra step of plugging it in each time? For me, the Haimer is pretty straight forward, no hassle and has not let me down yet. Wish I could give you a better comparison vs. just one perspective but I hope that helps.

@@BladesIIB That’s an excellent answer as far as I’m concerned.lol You’ve basically matched what I was thinking but you actually have experience making parts and a rational behind your answer. I appreciate your response. I think the Haimer is for me at least to start off with. I don’t like the cord on the probe either and as you said it seems like just as much work to take it in and out. It’s not like you can leave it in the atc when not in use. Thank you again for the reply. I watched all your install videos over the last week. They gave me a heads up on what to expect when the machine arrives so thank you!

@@RCP57 Glad the answer was helpful and the other videos. All the best with your install. You are going to live the machine, a little daunting the first time you hit cycle start but will all come together before you know it.

@@BladesIIB Thanks for the words of encouragement. I’ve been bumbling around machining parts on my manual mills for a number of years and have had a 3D printer for a few using Fusion 360 but that’s a lot different than this. I’m very excited but also a bit afraid of it all.lol I’ve been going to TH-cam university every night trying to learn a bit but I don’t think I’ll really grasp much until I can put it into practice. Thanks again for the advice!
