      Guy Good As an employee, and now part owner, it's easy to look around and see how everyone at Tormach is committed to their work. Comments like this shows that maybe our customers see the same. Thanks for the loyalty and awesome comment!

    At the moment doing a lot of research in regards to anything with the word Tormach.written on it.Hopefully around early to mid 2016 looking forward to purchasing your 1100 CNC Mill and also a 15L Slant Lathe.Is good to see your company getting behind the product and being proactive in promoting and introducing ongoing improvements. It really gives you confidence that you are buying the right product.Regards Peter.

    would you not add another .005 for the thickness of the paper?

    great video, but can you do a "G21" code version, and one question, are these machines DEFAULTED to inch, from factory?, or can you buy one with Metric as 'default setting'?

    Your video is a big success at the TechShop that I'm a member of. So successful that it is causing problems. Four days ago I was making a part using g-code that I've previously created and used. No problem right, wrong someone modified the offsets for that tool number (tool #155) and I milled through the bottom of the part. So my question is how can we automatically clear all 256 offset values in the offset table and then automatically load our personal offset values from an external source (excel spreadsheet file)?

      @tormachinc  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      tizwicky We are glad it's a success. The solution to clearing out the offsets is being worked on but isn't ready to be released at this time. We are hoping to get this out in the next release.

      @@tormachinc Id like to find a good video or good info on tool libraries and how to clear out the machine library.... the previous owner has a bunch of tools written in pathpilot.. I want to make my own libraries in fusion360 custom to each job.. how do I bring that info into the machine to be able to then set tool heights accordingly.. it is so frustrating that I have to highlight each line, hit delete and sometimes it clears it sometimes it doesnt...

    Lol not your fault but I thought you were using the wiggler on TOP of that aluminum block when setting your Y axis work offset (which I know doesn't make sense) but I was seeing the reflection on top of the work piece. The wiggler is on the back. I broke my wiggler touching it off to the top of the block but fixed it.

    Can you do a video on multiple work offsets with different Z heights using the bed as the tool reference point, rather than the work top?

    Is there an area in Path Pilot to store frequently used work offsets. Similar to Mach?

    yep , ive never given a cr-p about the machine coordinates.,. Matter of fact my homebrew cnc lathe has no limit switches, just virtual stops.

    When measuring the Haimer offline with the granite block and tool height gauge, how do you account for the 2 revolutions (or 1) of pressure that are applied when you touch off for Z? Sorry if this is a noob question but I'm a noob, thanks.

    • @tormachinc
      @tormachinc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, when using the height gauge to measure the Haimer, you would apply pressure until both of the Haimer dials read zero (the large one will revolve twice). You don't have to apologize for being a noob. We like noobs.

    I'm about to do a small run of parts and would like to have 2 vices next to each other to speed up the process. how do you setup this scenario. You have to have 2 work coordinates? Can you explain how to do it? thanks

    • @tormachinc
      @tormachinc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Typically, you would run a 2nd work offset for the second part. The default offset is G54. You would then setup a second, which would be any from G55 to G59. PathPilot also has G59.0 to G59.3 as work offsets, for a total of ten offsets in total.

    Can I simply touch the probe of with the Tool Setter?

    • @tormachinc
      @tormachinc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since the TTS probe moves as part of its function, you may not get an accurate length when touching it off with the tool setter, which also moves as part of its function. We show the most consistent and accurate way to utilize the probe in the video.

    how accurate is the probe for edgefinding?

    • @tormachinc
      @tormachinc  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Red Dog The probe is as accurate as the calibration it is given. Details on probe calibration are in section 8 of all our PCNC manuals.

    You set the height on the stone... .and then touch it off again? seems redundant yes?

    1100 770 or 440?

      Work offsets work on all three of the Tormach PCNC mills.
