- I finally got crawl control and multi-terrain select installed in my Lexus GX 460 and my truck is finally fully off-road ready and awaiting a lift and bigger tires! 🙂

Why'd you let the dealer take your money my brother? You'll still have your warranty if you installed it DIY, if something went wrong you just reinstall the original stuff. Anyways, congrats!
That’s true, however I’m not that mechanically inclined to install it myself and I didn’t want to take a chance breaking anything. 🙂
But it works well and now I want to look into buying a lift kit and some bigger wheels/tires!

I know nothing about cars and I was able to do it watching that video (THE video). Dealership definitely took advantage.
i'd be careful about adding lift kit. Did yours have kdss or regular suspension?

What year is your GX? I have a 2012 and wondering because there are a few P/N for this for different years of GX's. yours in the video is 859A160040 but I see others like 859A160031 and 859A160020.that are also GX 460 COMPUTER, DRIVING SUPPORT SWITCH CONTROL modules.
I have a 2017 GX 460.
the systems are seperate. The CC (crawl control) and MTS (multi terrian system)
Can use one with out the other.

The GX 460 is so capable off road, so crawl control/MTS just adds to its off road capability.

Thanks! The dealership did a great job on the install but it wasn’t cheap, parts and labor were over a thousand dollars.
Do they also install the monitor or not?
i'm going to email you! I have lots of questions and may even need to have some communications with the dealership you used. My dealership is saying they have issues and can't or won't install.

My 2013 came with crawl control but I don’t see a menu for MTS. Is there a special way to engage it or do I need to add another module?
Hmm, I think it was one module when I purchased it but I’ll have to double check as I’m not sure.
I engage MTS with a button on the steering wheel that toggles through other options.
Do i need to buy the switch or just the module?
I bought both the module and the switch.
Hey there, what dealer did you go to? I am here in Rancho Cucamonga and I emailed longo Lexus in El Monte. Ca and they said they couldn’t do it. I have a 2020 Lexus gx460 premium and it didn’t come with those options.
I went to Temecula Valley Lexus and they sold the parts to me (after checking my GX 460’s VIN number I think) and installed it for me as well.
Also, my GX 460 is a 2017 model as well which is prior to the 2020 refresh, so I’m not sure if the model year has anything to do with it.

Dealer can do it for you ? Even you don’t have in the original car ? I can not believe it , cuz in NY dealer they refused to do it 😤
It’s a blessing that I got it installed at the Lexus dealership. I bought the parts from the Lexus parts store at the dealership and they matched those parts to my GX 460’s VIN number and installed it for me. 🙂

That mts is gonna work great in Home Depot parking lot !
Not sure what you mean, there are good off road trails to use the multi-terrain select feature on.

Just bought a 2013. Wondering if I could get the same thing installed.
The guy driving doesn’t sound helpful or willing to walk you through at all, he sounds rushed and annoyed. Something I wouldn’t usually expect out of a Lexus dealership
I will still use my feet. For me it’s not that worth.
