I've been playing dbd since around the myers dlc, and it's all about balance and playing other stuff. Take breaks. Play other things. Idk how people can put 20k hours into ONE game. But also, if you're not having fun dont force yourself (like many others do). Bc all you're doing is stressing yourself out. Lol. Great video. Keep up the good work. 😊
I never said I have 20k hours in the game. I said when I speak with other content creators, collectively, our cumulative hours near around 20k. I have 8.5k hours.
I don't believe BHVR has any more big plans to balance the game in favor of killer. It makes the most sense for them to continue to cater to survivors.
Another problem with balancing, is that the community can't mod the game to test balance ideas. So it's literally just arguing which balance is HYPOTHETICALLY decent.
Well, that's less a commentary on "balance" and more a commentary on the way the DbD community uses the word "balance". But I like your suggestion of having the community-driven PTB. That sounds neat.
The game is a party game bro 💀(talking to the dbd community), like is something being strong a inharently bad thing?! 😂. I always felt that way about the game.
At 0:45 with the clips you were showing I was 100% expecting: "I'm going to address the core issue of Dead by Daylight which is that there needs to be more billy parkour in the game."
I main killer, but i also play survivor from time to time. And playing survivor SUCKS, you can be objectivly ass and still win. 3/4 games as surv i survive. Its kinda boring if i start the match, knowing i will win. Thats why i like killer more, i normally get the 4k each game, but at least its interesting, i have to be very tactical and think( what would i do here as a survivor) and mind game, and work harder for the win.
I got very bored playing survivor. I have around 8,500 hours played total. And around maybe 1,500 of those hours were on solo-que survivor. I chose to main killer because it keeps me far more engaged in the gameplay.
I definitely stopped having fun in the game which is why I stopped playing. You're totally right, nobody can agree on where the game should go because we all enjoy different aspects of the game. Beyond that I also feel like it's incredibly disrespectful (borderline criminal even) that with every new update there are either new bugs or old bugs coming back. Some of which make the game literally unplayable.
Tbh I’ve stopped caring about balance for dbd. I kind of just go with the flow of the game, and I’ve found myself having a ton of more fun. When you stop caring your enjoyment level really does shoot up.
Balance in dead by daylight doesn't necessarily mean fun, it means fairness. For the killer, who has to hunt down 4 people multiple times in one match, it's fair they have a strong power that allows them to kill survivors easily or control the map. It's not very fair if the survivors can just ignore that power. It's fair if the survivors who have to do generators to open an exit gate work together. It's not fair if someone disconnects out of frustration, leaving their team at the mercy of a bot
This will be the fate of all games that have 2 roles that cannot be balanced simultaneously. In a more "balanced" game like Chess, or Counter-Strike, balance is able to be approximated to be as fair as possible. The closer a game like DbD gets to approximating balance, the more new players it loses and fails to retain. DbD's recent patches have made it very clear that BHVR doesn't intend to balance the game, but rather make it as easy as possible.
Started playing when clown came out thought the game was cool at the time. Tried to play a game today and oml it is actually the most boring thing in the world. Way too many perks, the grind is ridiculous, the que times are slow and the game just feels clunky still on both sides
DbD will never achieve balance because of the fact that it is an asymmetrical game. So when people talk about "balance", they really just are commenting on their personal level of fun and engagement.
me 16k hrs into dbd i can say the core Problem of dbd is the Playerbase, literally just the Players themselves and 2nd Problem is no depth in Killers. there are no real Mechanics you can learn and master Killers are just poorly coded and limited in what they can do. i could go furhter into what i mean by this but not right now. maybe if someone asks in comments
Nah, the demographic that suffers the most are the mid level players. You gain MMR way too easily so you get into the top bracket and are more likely to encounter the asshole 4 men russian bully squad SWF or hardcore treating-every-game-like-a-tournament-final Blights and Nurses. Top level players at least have the skill to keep up to a certain extent, that's why they are top level players. P.S. f you for 4 man slugging with Billy.
As long has the devs keep introducing different game modes, I feel it keeps the gameplay experience alive, i.e Lights Out, Chaos Shuffle, 2v8, etc

everyone gives mccoate flack for saying take a break and play something else when he is entirely right

@@TheJohnnyRage fair, i will say that comment is more so for a majority of those players that strictly play dbd. All love 😁
If they don't make 1v4 more fun for killers. 1v4 will die once 2v8 is permanent.

Thx for making а video about the thoughts I had in 2020

Thank you so much, Jen! I have a Black Myth video on the way. Thanks again for gifting that to me!

Back in my day killers running slowdown wasn’t needed and the ones who are, used to be considered sweaty
I agree with the video but i think its hyperbolic to say all asyms will fall to this until the end of time.

DbD is a very difficult game to take breaks from.
Claiming theres no way to balance the game and instead saying that fun = balance sure is a take you can have!

All of the clips of Billy are back when he was extremely weak and difficult to play. What I did took skill.
if bbq and distortion were both removed from the game it would be 100x better no cap
Don't really think you understood the video mate.
