Coltallic agree 100%. I really admire Rob. Musicaly and as a person. He's so humble man, always talking from the heart. Love the dude, and love that in this new álbum, not only the bass sounds terrific and LOUD, but he helped making the AMAZING Manunkind and Lord of summer. Love that Lars and James are giving him more credit
In one sense you are right, in another no. Because since Cliff was gone, any new band member would always remained as "the new guy". And Jason understood that. "...whether a few years or 20 years from now, I'll always be the new guy." It's just that particular void that no matter who it is, they always be the new ones. Cliff was Cliff.
Nolan Moore he really is, i remember in Some Kinda Monster, he had a look on his face like a kid just wishing and aching for his parents to stop fighting. Fucking love kirk.
This format is perfect. A great musician, Corey Taylor, interviewing great musicians. It's not the same set of stale ass questions that entertainment reporters ask. Furthermore, they are friends with Corey, which gives it a relaxed vibe.
Corey unlike most interviewers haven't lived that life Corey has toured for decades, knows the hardships of making an album, but most importantly knows how hard it is to lose a close friend.
Dude Corey Taylor overdosed bad when he was 14 or 15 and his friends thought he was dead and they dumped him in a trashcan bro like that's messed up fr
Corey is such an Awesome guy. I'm not a Huge Slipknot Fan, but he is an amazing singer and Song writer and just respects Metallica unlike almost everybody else on the planet recently.
They are respected lol. They still sell out shows man. Most of the asshats who hate them are only saying it to sound cool. Even if you don't like them you should respect them and their track record. Master of Puppets is THE MOST METAL ALBUM EVER MADE PERIOD....
I love what James said..."I don't like being 90%. I just DON'T." I've seen them twice in the past 3 years including S&M2 in September and been following their live videos very closely as well and I gotta say, it definitely shows. They are fucking incredible live. I've seen allot of bands just not give a shit what they sound like and left the show feeling really disappointed, but that has never been the case with Metallica EVER.
Those guys always put me in good mood cause i realize and remember that there are people who are living their life like they want to, doing exactly what they love doing and making good living out of it. It makes me try my hardest to do the same. God bless Corey and Metallica.
Musicians shooting the sh*t, not some interviewer asking same annoying questions. A great rapport and laid back vibe! Love everything about Corey, great respect and same for Metallica. Humble, down to earth dudes.
new album blows alot of thier 90's stuff out the window. well done tallica...spit out the bone is a masterpiece. wouldnt sound out of place on an early album.
TheFutureKing It's a Tuff call between The Black Album and Hardwired. Black Album is a more solid record, but Hardwired is way more Diverse and Melodic.
but the hardwired album is sooo repetitive, don't you think? I would consider myself a hardcore metallica fan with Ride the Lightning and AJFA as my all time favorite albums. the thing is...when i listen to the drum parts (i am drummer so I can't help it) it's just so incredibly boring. boring fill ins, boring, standard beats, no ride cymbal again(!) and always this clunchy open hi hat throughout. also...there's hardly an amazing lead guitar solo. only thing that stands out is hetfield's voice. however, lyrics are boring as well.. one could say I am really disappointed of the new album...unfortunately.
James, you are simply an inspiration. What an artist. Honest, true to himself, never shies away from imparting some wisdom gained through his very tough road. Legend.
the only thing that sucks about this is it's only 20 minutes. Gotta love Corey though. the guy is such a dude. he's a natural at this shit as well. that whole bit about the 25 yr old drummer was hilarious.
DirtRoadKing007 if you havnt already, check out the video of Corey Taylor, Robb Flynn, and Matt Heafy covering Creeping Death live. Make sure you have fresh underwear handy.
I really love Greg Fidelman and his special audio consoles he makes. His production style reminds me of Keith Olsen, who produced the Fleetwood Mac 1975 album and Terrapin Station by Grateful Dead.
Love Corey Taylor As A Singer,Song Writer And Lyrist. With that out of the way, you could tell with the question about "Would you change anything?" That there was some hesitation amongst James,Lars and Kirk And Rob(Espically Kirk And Rob) The Mustain Incident Early on to Cliff's Death to the Whole Time Jason was in the group and pushed out, And The St. Anger Sessions ,That there is a lot they would change. Poor Kirk too being in the group 30+ years and except a track here and there on an album Having Input as an Equal(Espically On Hardwired Having no input at all) That his response was reserved and didn't say what he really wanted to say. And I'm sorry Rob Still feels like a Hired Gun and Not An Equal! Love Metallica But Let's be Honest Here...
talking about kirk.he is emotional if you'll watch some of his interviews he almost tears up because you can he cares about the music and bandmates.wgen you have this much dedication in a musician they can write and play anything.

G_Man5252 I noticed that too but I think those were just songs that didn't make it to death magnetic so that probably took like a couple hours to put together haha
G_Man....Impossible....St.Anger is an album without solo's and completely different songs and sound........Can't you hear the difference ? Beyond Magnetic are songs not good enough to put on the album (they choose the best songs anyway, they wrote every time more songs ,so they have more choice to make an Album) and they changed the songs and made them better ....And because they didn't have not enough good stuff at that moment for a new album ....that's why Beyond Magnetic...came out....
9:43 Lol, seems like Rob was there too. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that was him the first time talking in the video expect for "Ola" in the beginning
***** I'm pretty sure that it's not about the money. After a year he was fucking rich too. He got 1 million only for joining them and he is a really good bassist, so he could easily find another good band or just make his own one and get a good money with that. And a band won't work if a member can't have a say, can't decide about anything. All of them can have ideas and they should be handled the same. It won't work if you just say "Yo, asshole, you only play the bass, but you have got no right to say what we are doing". It's just like they would write the bass track and Rob just had to play it.
Rob still taking lessons ...Mexican Classic Guitar....and also his level as a Bass player is much to high to let it see in a Metallica song...I think he just likes playing with them, it's fun....
I can't believe these guys did a 20 minute interview while pulling off the best mannequin challenge ever. They're fuckin kings

He's a full member for sure, no question. Amazing musician
Coltallic yeah man ;)
Next year Rob will have been in the band the longest as a bass player.
Longer than cliff and Jason ...
people forget that hes been here for more than 10 years now 😂
