From someone who doesn't know shit about Metallica, he seems like such a well-mannered guy! From reading what other people have said I get the backlash but as a person he seems nice.
They sued Napster because they didn't want people sharing an unfinished version of one of the songs from St. Anger, not because they care only about money.
I know someone who had a chance to hang out with all of them on the tour bus and he said that Lars was the nicest

It's been 35 years, it ain't happening. AJfA is a dope album anyways even if they did shaft Jason. Who was awesome. They weren't ever better live than with Jason, no disrespect to the man Cliff.
I'm proud for Lars most of all because that's the face of a man who is living his dream since his early 20's and still going strong. It's rare to see people who accomplished their dreams, so I hope each one of us make his dreams come true.

Any metal drummer of today that talk crap about Lars bad drum skills. Remember this, without him metal drumming would not be what it is today. That style of guitar and bass, lining up rhythmically with the drums came from Metallica. Others play double bass too, but he put it in the forefront and made it fashionable. Now every metal band does it. Megadeth had always had drummers that were way more technical than Lars. But Lars played what was best for the songs. His song arrangement ideas were superb. That's what makes a good musician. Not being able to blast beat at 300bpm.
i love his sense of humor, it's really mild and endearing, almost grandparentsy (even back in the 80s i'd say)

@@maxotto9877 I love all genres, I grew up on electronic music and metal from the age of 13 and forth, that was in 1988. I started with Iron Maiden, AC/DC and Metallica, because that was the most played and easily accessible, but quickly got tired of them all and moved on to Slayer, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Sepultura, Lard, Hilt, Ministry, Suicidal Tendencies, Misfits, punk, death metal and especially industrial (bands and genres I still love today).
And I do love metal, but no, not Metallica and especially not their ballads and the black album, but too each his own, and no offence. I do know people who value Metallica.
And wasn´t there a guy from Mayhem showing of his fave records praising Beastie Boys Pauls Boutique? Another OG Norwegian black metal dude loves and produces techno... I truly think that most music lovers are open to more than one genre.

Even the bands of the era/genre are calling it bullshit, and so far every band featured has refused to lend their music to the movie. Fenriz has been very outspoken on the issue.

Lars is extremely likable and well educated person. He knows his shit.
Even in the 80s Lars and Co. had a pretty sophisticated taste in music, even just reading magazine interviews in that era those guys were rocking Ministry, Laibach, (and as evident on Garage Days), covered Killing Joke and the Misfits. I can even safely say they were a huge influence on me for seeking out alternative music, movies and literature when they would pipe up about that stuff back then.
Some people say Lars is "simple", but nothing could be further from the truth.
That was the most likable version of Lars I've ever seen. He had many good and varied picks too.
Lars being able to talk about things he loves seems like him in his element.
That wasn't Metallica Lars, that was just Lars.

Many musicians don't practice very much once they reach a pro level. What's the point, anyway? Do you really think that Metallica would sell more albums and concert tickets if Lars had more technical skill and chops? Highly doubtful.

Anyone know how these "what's in my bag segments" happen? Are the artists invited to Amoeba to do these or are they randomly just spotted by employees at the store and asked up front?
Most of the time we seek out people we want to feature ahead of time and invite them in. Sometimes we get lucky and spot someone in the store and make it happen. With Lars it was the former, with Nergal, the latter.

i used to listen to my mothers springsteen cassettes at 1.5xspeed when i was a kid, had to hold in the fast forward button lol. Then i discovered punk music and eventually simmilarly fast music like thrash/extreme metal and hardcore EDM
@ Lars : The last show with Ritchie Blackmore was Paris 1975. You can get this on CD also... Great show by the way.
