I love Downey's interviews. He does his homework and knows all the facts, but he's also very personable and engaging while he's interviewing. I always appreciate that.
What a great interview... not a huge fan of Slipknot, but definitely appreciate how they've pushed metal forward. Corey seems like a really down-to-earth guy, and Slipknot has been through hell lately. Onward and upward my dude!
First, I hope Corey is doing well. I'm a bit older than Corey, so for me Kiss and Motorhead was my ah-ha moment into metal. Diamondhead, Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth definitely put me on my path into being a metalhead. I absolutely love metal to this day as a genre and Corey is one of my heroes. He has such a gift and I'm definitely jealous. Fantastic harsh vocals and beautiful clean vocals. He's a blessed a individual.
Corey taylor seems like a normal person who doesn't care about the money like most people he just likes metal and he likes what he does and he seems like a good person and has a good soul love Corey
Sweet! My lil brother is a '73 baby as well. 🤘😎 My '67 baby self & my '96 baby son are both fans of Corey, Slipknot & Metallica. (Altho Slayer is son's fav/go to band rn.) Keep on Rockin! ✌😎
Yesterday was my 40th bday. My wife got me a ticket to Knotfest Roadshow Concert June, 1st Cincinnati Ohio! I'm very excited. Never been to a concert and my row is 108. Bringing my gopro and video the entire show. Huge Corey Taylor fan!!!
The people have spoken! We want more Downey interviews! He always finds some way to connect the viewers with the person he is interviewing in a way that no one else can! #TeamDowney
I'm from the east coast and born in 79 and that exactly explains my work ethic. Aside from. Recovering from surgeries I will retire when I die otherwise I'll just drop off as well
HEADBANGERS BALL WAS MY SHIAT!!!!!!! IT'S THE FIRST TIME THAT I'D SEEN Guns and rose's!!! Appetite for Destruction!!!!!!!!!! And me and my twin brother we're just blown away by it!!!!!! That we couldn't wait until we got our hands on the whole tape!!!!!!!!! And then we did!!! Wow!!!!! Nothing in music was the same after that!!!! God bless you all today Shalom 🙏
Downey interviews are the best! Always insightful. Just when I thought I knew everything there was to know about Metallica, Downey hits his guests with some insane anecdote I've never heard before that gets everyone talking. I'm always impressed.
Awesome interview! Can’t wait for the other parts. Really cool to hear Corey’s music influences. He not only inspires me but so many others! Rock on guys! 🤘🏼❤️🔥
His hair. The hair. The... Hair... Hair. That Hair.. His hair. The lord of hair . Also I would love to recommend Killing Is My Business. It's a good album!
From another midwest kid born in April 73.....this interview is awesome!! Proud to say I've got a ton in common with my favorite vocalist in the world #8.......
I feel him on ever single sentence!!!!!!! I was born in 1971 And I was raised like a animal and my moms put us kids through shit 💯!!! Always moving house to house and new school!!!!!?new school!!!!!!? And she always hustled and us kids have been hustling!!!!!? Untill we die!!!!? Crazy SHIAT!!!! God bless you all today Shalom
#Knotfest great interview I like also add that #Metallica is the masters of transitions in there music I mean they switch from one sound to another sound in a split second and it blows. My mind how they have always done that so good
I like when Corey says the "Raining Blood" album was to short because that's how I feel about Linkin Park's Hydrid Theory and Slipknot's self titled album. Headbangers ball was a big thing in my house too. Discovered so many bands like Children of Bodom, Exodus, Trivium, and so many more. Love that show
My punker buddies Alex and Martin got me into listening to Metallica back in 84' .. At first I wasn't really into the speed and it seemed really noisy and immature.. I was more into bands like Iron Maiden, Priest, Dio, Sabbath, Ozzy, Scorpions, AD/DC, etc. So Metallica being so different than anything I'd hear to that point, took a while for me to warm up to. By the time And Justice For All came out I was really into them and went with a group of friends to see them at the Monsters of Rock at the L.A. Colosseum. Master of Puppets is the greatest Thrash Metal album ever recorded and will never be replaced.
Unless Corey is in his 30's that's not even close to being the stairway to heaven of OUR generation. Nothing Else Matters was more popular, and transcended genres like Stairway. But in terms of songwriting I would say Diary of a Madman, just a brilliant song.
unless touring & all that is literally killing you i don't think ppl should stop if it makes them happy. that's what gives some ppl purpose in life, if you don't find your purpose you lose sight of why you should b living at all.
My story to Metal is similar kindergarten to 2nd I loved ac/dc! Then my my dad put on Motley Crue dr feel good album I’m Like shit this is awesome! It was The heaviest stuff I’ve heard Until one morning my dad showed me Rob Zombie Dragula I Was Like this is terrifying but awesome I went to school that Day singing it! Then 2 years Late at Walmart I convinced my mom to buy me a Rob Zombie greatest hits album! Okay she knew dragula! I look at the other tracks I’m 10 years old and I See One song Called house of 1000 corpses! So I listened to it And it sacred me but I loved then the Next day I get in the car with my mom And I said hey play track The first 30 Seconds Umm No No! Lol
He is growing his hair out, and hasn't touched it with dye yet. His new tour look is going to be wild. I cannot wait. Birmingham AL in October Corey! I'll be in the front, got VIPs!
Hey Corey, you have a lot of pull, Please help us get Headbangers Ball back, is was a Saturday night ritual for me to get a 6 pk. of Budweiser and a quarter bag of weed and watch it from 10 to 12: am
'74 here. That Peace Sells bass line will be haunting forever. Unfortunately, Metallica lost if for me with the Black Album, but loved the prior releases.
This virus sucks! Hope Corey is getting better, he looks good anyway? I had to sell my Megadeth tics for Sat. Moda, my wife is not well & i can’t in good conscious go & possibly be a carrier Vaccinated & all? Fucked up world right now? Do you know how hard it was to give up floor tics for Megadeth/ LOG ? BS…
Lol....hes my brother from another mother....stealing cable from neiboring trailers....I stole from 3 houses, took em 6 months to figure it was me....the third house had playboy channel....then we figured out the old red LED Adelphia box was infinitely steal able buy switching the terminals around....good times
just on 73 comment alone lol. Damn looking rested and well corey..minus covid.. boo what did you call it.. selfish.. even if covid vaccine still spread it? Beyond that.. Am a huge fan. Omega was the wedge that broke me into a fan.
I’m getting tired of people acting like Corey has so many bands… he’s had 2 bands for the most part. Just made a 3rd one for his girlfriend lmao. Go talk to Mike Patton about how many bands he has
Master of puppets is Metallica’s best record no question and yeah Corey is spot on it’s a beautiful record but to me it’s not a perfect metal album simply because there is no single perfect metal record.

Corey taylor seems like a normal person who doesn't care about the money like most people he just likes metal and he likes what he does and he seems like a good person and has a good soul love Corey
He's got too much money to need to "care" about it...
Yes that's why he go two bands, oh sorry it's a passion project

I'm a '73 kid too and we definitely were on the same wavelength!! Great stuff fellas!
I'm a 73'ite, and we came up through the Golden age of music, especially hard rock and metal.
I love discussing the different generations and their attributes. I find it completely fascinating.
