I got the 600i Explorer at IAE, and it soon became my large daily driver (small daily driver is the Defender). I'm hoping we'll see its gold standard updates completed by CitCon. The 600i is a beautiful ship, so I named mine "Caprica Six" as it seemed most fitting.

The 600i is my favorite ship to date. With the upcoming gold pass, likely coming some time around the 3.18 patch, it will tic every box for what I want in a ship.

Its the best ship i ever had for daily driving and combat by far,I was a little bit sad to melt it in order to obtain the BMM into my hands but this ship...,hopes i wont regret it xD
It’s such a fantastic ship, although I think upgrading to the BMM was absolutely the right call. For starters, you’re bound to save hundreds by its release. And in terms of ship features, the BMM is shaping up to be something of a hybrid between the 890 and 600i, truly the best of both worlds! Not to mention it’s weapons, bazaar and massive cargo hold!
One of my favorite ships. Especially when it will feature a med bay after the rework. Sadly its too expensive for me to buy it with real money. I guess I will stick to my Andromeda instead and buy the 600i with ingame money :)

Great question! As far as I’m aware, it’s happening to every variant of the 600 series! They should all be getting medical, but each will have additional changes based on their roles; touring vs exploration!

Is this the explorer or touring? I'm not sure which one to get, the wiki just says explorer replaces lounge with scanning station, but I thought the lounge was at the back next to the kitchen?
I showcase both herein, but I'd recommend the explorer variant personally. The 600i is currently being reworked and the explorer variant will come with a Tier 2 medical bed (like the 890J and Carrack) along with an armory, and several other improvement throughout! At some point in the future, it'll also be modular with the ability to swap between the two variants. We just don't know many other logistics, pricings, timelines, or other details. I'd recommend checking out the 600i update pics and see what calls to you!
Got a 600i to BMM upgrade. I doubt imma actually follow through with it if the way to get the BMM in game is legendary as the lore says. Gotta do it that way

That’s a great question! Sadly we don’t know yet as this gameplay loop hasn’t been introduced. My gut wants to say yes, but it might be limited to the Touring version, or there will be some other limitations therein; like you get paid less using the Explorer, or some clients just won’t book with you!

The 600i is the one origin ship that drives me to drink. The exterior design is very nice, the interior is a mess. This is even more of an issue with the explorer version. In my opinion the captains quarters is a complete waist of space and one of the most over hyped spaces of the ship. If I had a chance to redesign it I would move the cockpit down to where the captains quarters is and have either the scanning station or dining moved to where the cockpit is. The captains, guest and crew quarters should take a note from the 400i but nicer. Not as nice as the 890j but nicer than the 400i. The engine room should take a design note from the 890j with the gravity generator and the other engine components in a good work space. The current back area can be reduced in size and a meeting/waiting room could be in this area and a small medical office should be added. I would also rework the cargo area to make it hold more cargo and still allow for a rover sized vehicle. The elevator would offer to stop on the crew deck (lower floor) or the lobby (top floor). I hope the gold standard will make a lot of improvements, but I doubt I will like the ship any more.
You make some excellent points and I do hope they address some of these concerns during the 600i rework. The exterior is stunning with such great lines and design stylings, but it’s a shame the interior doesn’t make better use of the space. Morph had some excellent criticisms in his video that I’m sure they’ve taken several notes from! Although I personally enjoy the captains quarters and love the view from within it. The wraparound glass and front facing window make it really cinematic when out sightseeing! Although I completely understand that it’s not the ship for everyone, and respect your opinions and the points you raise!
if you put x2 size 5s and x2 size 4s on the conny and use equivalant weapons to the 600I (lets say cannons or repeaters in both ) the conny is better in both burst DPS and sustained dps . :( 600I maybe worth the in game price , but not the out of pocket price .
The Connie is a fantastic platform with a ton of pilot firepower! But the 600i has so much utility with the rework, it’ll be pretty legendary once implemented! That atop its twin size 3 shields are pretty great selling points!
600i is the best origin ship for sure, i will keep mine till death do us part. i just hope they add a ship bay with all they said in the rework... it would be easy to make that navigation room into a bay... basically it should have some kind of fighter escort like the connie and carrack. especially since it is origin it should have all the bells and whistles imo... he did hint at bigger vehicles and left it as a surprise...

They have already confirmed they're not adding a snub hangar. Personally, I'm glad. There's no A E S T H E T I C way to add a hangar for an actually useful snub to this ship. The Pisces is the only snub that makes sense for exploration expeditions or touring, and it's pretty large. Regardless, they're making the droplift larger, so you could just park a ship there - without ruining the 600i exterior.

600i is an awesome ship, but I disagree with the "exploration" and "daily drive" parts. the ship is sluggish as hell! Can anyone give me their impressions about the ship's speed and the ways they use to go for missions and return from them without taking a whole real life day to do so? Thanks!
It’s true, this ship is definitely sluggish in atmospheres! But exploration will likely be more expanded in the future, with a combination of space flight, atmospheric pinging, and ground vehicles used to further investigate! In those regards, I suspect this ship will be even more valuable!
@@ViciDeum Thanks for the clarification. Still, I talked to a friend of mine who also loves 600i and he gave me hints to circumvent this speed issues. To be simple here, he explained how to get to mission spots using orbits, POI navigation points and even orbital markers, all combined with short Quantum jumps. This way we almost completely avoid atmosphere transit. In this specific scenario of problem "solving", I end up agreeing with you: 600i is an awesome daily flyer. ^_^
lol only one ground car. passenger transport is Not in game. cargo transport is less than the amount of a Cutty. But all that being said I love this ship and I can't wait for the remodel.

Will probably pull it out of buyback, but only provided the do something drastic about the spiral staircase flanked by fore and aft elevators. I couldn't stomache te stupidity, especially considering the loaner was the explorer, a much more utility to its interior design. If they give it the gold pass an the touring remains relatively unchanged, it'll remain in write-off territory for me. 3-600 quid for stupid/lazy, I personally cannot justify. It's like the MSR, but with fewer redeeming attributes/traits.
I do hope they give this ship the proper love it deserves, in both exploration and touring variants! It has so much potential but wasted space throughout. Although, I expect it to shine after the gold standard but we’ll definitely have to see after it’s release. And I agree, the cash purchase price is at an absolute premium! The 600i really is an amazing, beautiful ship which handles everything you throw at it, and then some! But I agree, it’s price tag is definitely steep, although a great objective to work towards in-game! That Corsair should serve you some fantastic value as your starter though, and really give you some good earning potential! And thank you for rejoining the channel, it’s great to have you back! i love the 600i and use it extensively, but claiming it's great for one-person bounty hunting is as misguided as it gets.. the bigger ships are all very slow in turning speeds, meaning the enemy will run complete circles around you without you being to land a single shot...
I’ve used the 600i quite effectively in solo bounties, it just doesn’t sound like you’re dogfighting with it effectively. This ship is absolutely not a nimble jouster, and that’s the worst way to use it’s platform. Instead, pull targets away by going in a single straight line at top speed and decouple before flipping 180 degrees. From there, it’s pretty easy and quite effectively to engage targets with very short times to kill 👌
Not at all, this ship has a ton of great utility in the current patch and even more opportunities after its rework. Plenty of people use this ship right now for a variety of purposes from bounty hunting to roc mining, cargo, contraband and so much more!

The 600i is the Jupiter 2 of Star Citizen.
It really shares a lot of the same utility as the Jupiter 2! While it doesn’t have the same aesthetics, it’s got a very similar exploration role 😁👍

So the best thing about this ship is you can Role Play all the things the game might have in 10 years time ? Not seeing a big selling point :-)

I’ve used the 600i quite effectively in solo bounties, it just doesn’t sound like you’re dogfighting with it effectively. This ship is absolutely not a nimble jouster, and that’s the worst way to use it’s platform.
Instead, pull targets away by going in a single straight line at top speed and decouple before flipping 180 degrees. From there, it’s pretty easy and quite effectively to engage targets with very short times to kill 👌

Not at all, this ship has a ton of great utility in the current patch and even more opportunities after its rework. Plenty of people use this ship right now for a variety of purposes from bounty hunting to roc mining, cargo, contraband and so much more!
