    You think not liking Grip Zone is stupid? My pettiness goes deeper than that. I had to cast off a friend of thirty plus years because his military stories kept getting more embellished and harder to believe, especially since I was present for a lot of that stuff that never really happened. He was a huge XD fan, and now I can’t like them because I associate S/A with that D-Bag. I know it’s petty and I want to like them but I can’t disassociate. I’m getting tempted though. Baby steps man, Baby steps 😉.

    Many people in the US have no idea what Croatia is. I was just there. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Most everybody speaks English. In fact, the Brits vacation there. Great beaches. I'm well traveled and have to place Croatia right up there. Besides, Kings Landing in GOT is Dobrovnik.

    Firearm trends come and go. When i first got into shooting everybody and their mother carried mirco .380s. Than it became single stack 9s. And now micro compacts.
    My dad got me a gen 3 g27 for my 21st birthday and I never strayed away from old school subcompacts. I do often carry a g17,19 or 22. But my g26 is always with me as a primary or BUG gun.
    I agree with you that the old-school thick framed guns are just built better. Subcompacts will always be my favorite. Once you get used to them, these slim guns feel like toys.

    I have two gen 1 XDS's, the 9 and the 45. I think they are well designed and well made, they are tight slide to frame, and near the most accurate handguns i have. I'm on the side of a grip safety is a good thing and not a drawback. The drawback, for me, is their heft. But, that also absorbs recoil. So, there you go.

      I carried the XDs 45 as well. When it came out, having 6 rds of .45 in a micro pistol was a game changer. It has since been rendered essentially obsolete with the development of higher capacity 9mm micros coupled with improved 9mm ballistics (looking at the 147 gr HST). Like you, I will never part with it though.

    4 sales problems as I see without firing one. 1, if not on CA firearm roster, it is a moo point. 2, the lettering on grip is shit, but some grip tape or stipling will fix that. 3, that grip safety looks horribly cheap, unneeded, and worry that it is a point of failure. 4, the bore line, above the height of the trigger, is so much higher than ones like Glocks, the muzzleflip will be accentuated. That $300 price for a compact .45 sounds great to me, but given the choice, how do you beat a G26?

    the problem isnt that its made in croatia. the issue i have with Springfield as of late, is they cant or dont come up with anything new on their own. the helliion is also a Croatian gun. the "new" Highpower is a copy of an old gun. the m14 / m1a rifles are super cool but, old. i mean what is Springfield mgmt doing other than licensing and rebranding guns designed by other companies.

    Where do you get your 9mm practice ammo and how affordable is it? I've been getting mine from Academy Sports, mostly monarch brass case 250 round cases for about $60. I'm just wondering if that is a good deal for practice ammo?

    • @ChandlerCharityTV
      @ChandlerCharityTV 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only deals where ammunition is 0.24cpm or lower is when purchasing in 1,000+ round increments.
      Just check ammoseek and set your filters to F/CF shipping, you'll see cheapest is bulk.
      250 rounds for $60 is 0.24cpm which is solidly "very good" if it's new ammunition and brass.
      0.27 is the cutoff point for decent price 9mm new brass case.
      0.22cpm is cutoff for new brand name steel case.
      0.23 for brand new aluminum case

    I like my grip zone xd9. Made in Croatia means nothing to me because I’ve been there. My parents were born there, but Croatia at that time was in the country Yugoslavia, which broke up in the 1990’s during the Yugoslav civil wars. I speak the language and can live there easily if I chose to.
    The one thing the internet ruined was the 30 Super Carry. It released and a bunch of internet dipshits complained about it without even stating any facts about the 30sc round. 30sc does exactly what 9mm does in ballistics FBI testing protocols.
    If they were truthful, they would have stated the 30sc checks all the boxes for self defense that 9mm did against the 40 cal in the 90’s.
    9mm had 2 more in capacity in a glock 19 vs a Glock 23, had less recoil, but 9mm had less energy and expansion than 40. Capacity was the reason 9mm won because 9mm did the same shit in ballistics testing that 40 did, so 2 more rounds “was better”. At least with 30sc, you can get anywhere from 3-6 more rounds of capacity over 9mm, and it only depends on what size 9mm magazine you currently run.

  • @jone5591
    @jone5591 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think Springfield themselves are much more to blame for ruining this than the internet- only 7+1 or 9+1 with the extended mag that was way too big to only be holding 9 rounds, trigger pull was way too heavy, they released the hellcat which had 11/13 round capacity, and Mod2 eventually being optic ready but not being able to accept a Holosun footprint like a Sig P365. All that aside, I owned one and actually liked it, but it was more a range toy than something I considered carrying
