Got 2014 1090R at home, first gear is the scariest. quickly change to 2 when riding. Original exhaust is extremely hot when the thermometer reach 6 bar and above. the faster you ride, the cooler the engine. Recommend to wear high cut shoes. Test at 200km/h with thermometer 2 bar out of 10, pretty impressive compare my small 200cc KTM bike. 10 litres of fuel can get you 150km, however the warning light yet to pop up so should be longer Most important is to set the rebound, compression and sag Set the traction control either 4-5 for safest day-to-day ride And that tyre size is really hard to find the market now. If want to DIY maintenance, a torque wrench up to 220NM will be quiet handy
Ive been riding mine for a few months now. It is the Best bike i ever had. MIne has an Ohlins steering damper on it. And i own 5 Ducatis and a Harley, and Enfield, a Diablo Custom., an XSR, and about to get my third MV. Its like sitting on a tank, a sherman tank, and also you are literally almost sitting on the tank. Puts Ducatis to shame for quality and response. The four cylinder ones i mean. The 800 triples are rubbish (i have one of those two and its crap). The Brutale 1090 is a superbike. Mine has titanium arrow racing pipe on it increasing horsepower to about 159 hp .. and as the man says, if you dont own the bike and ride it till you know it like your own hand, it is indeed scary, throttle response is millimeter. Mine does wheelies on its own whim. Luckily in Thailand you dont lose your licence for that, nor for even driving without a license, just repeat fines. which is why i have been riding without a license for all my life. Yes the bike can kill an inecperienced rider. But i use mine even to go to the corner shop on it can go slow or fast and doesnt complain.. it isnt too much, The 800 is more tiring and harder to go on low revs. The 'chole' i9s not a choke it is a cold starter sytem that switches off as you drivce and close throttle. It fuels the engine on cold start. Read the manual dude
interesting, I experienced that too not too long ago, going from 85hp to 160. It's too much for me, at this stage in my riding career. Seems the same for you. Be safe. Cool vid!
I just bought one of these! waiting for it to arrive. My 10th bike now
Very exciting! It's a monster of a bike! Hope you enjoy it :D
