pretty great review. The only thing i think that could have improved it is some samples, i.e. use a normal cheapy headset and record an audio clip, use the yeti and record an audio clip, and then the same clip with the bluebird, then play them all in series. that way it gives people an idea of just how good it is, rather than just "it sounds like this".
As you are looking for critique, I must say, I was a little bit disappointed that you did not mention the shock mount's quality whatsoever. In the future, you should try to give each section its own limelight. Other than that, it was a spot on review, thank you :)
My review of your review: It was a very good review. This microphone looks very nice. Now that you have spoken so highly of it I know think of buying one of my own. W00t w00t you seem to have done your job well
Fantastic review, and extremely well made! That box must go with your collection nicely (I know about the collection from your instagram account). The cinematic quality was astounding and I certainly would enjoy seeing more of these videos.
If you have the problem that you can't subscribe to the channel, try doing it on the channel main page. Here at the video it doesn't work for many people, also for me, but at the channel page it worked.
dude you are honestly a natural talent :P moar pls.. only thing is that you might want to annotate link for amazon, eBay etc in the description. Well done!!
mumbo, that list on the box things was awesome! that could work well in a minecraft video or something on the side of a mountain like a todo list today. Loving the reviews though!
Your next step should be to get a Scarlett preamp and possibly a condenser. It would make the audio quality even better than it already is. Great review though. I would absolutely buy the mic if I had a real reason to.
If anyone was wondering, typically with condenser microphones like this, you would want to run the xlr cable into a preamp or mixer that gives it an extra 48v of power, which makes it sound better. Still, that was a little harsh
That 48v is called “phantom power” and is used to give enough power to condenser mics. Dynamic microphones do not need them, however, some mics like the ever so popular Shute SM7B tends to run a bit(very) quiet, so it needs something called a cloudlifter to amplify the signal
Honestly, you're asking for ways to improve Oli, I can't find many. I presume you watch people like MKBHD and Austin Evans as your style is similar. I thoroughly enjoyed the review. One thing I would include is just to say what price you bought it for and whether it's increased or decreased since then (however I fully understand why you didn't)
Great review, but could you mention the price next time? Looking forward to seeing more of these! (and the car review!) But why didn't you post it in MumboJumbo? It's a high quality video, there's no reason to hide it!
"I've had a lot of people in my room..." Mumbo gettin' the girls! (or boys, idk about that aspect of your life) :P (Also, ik this is an old vid and this channel is now obselete but this was not an opportunity I was going to miss.)
What mic did you use to record this? I think it would have been nice to give some audio examples. Great overall though! I'm looking forward to that car review!!
If you're in the UK or Germany, you can also get a nice starter mic called "the t.bone SC 440 USB", best in the Podcast Bundle with a pop filter and a stand. It's exclusively on Thomann.de/co.uk
I kinda agree with some other's, the box and look of the microphone is secondary, but to do a good review you should make or comment on sound quality differences of other well known mics.
The review was a great first try! The only thing that was missing is a bit of technical specification. When u review a microphone, maybe put the good looks of the mic a bit aside and tell something about frequency range (e.g. 20-40000 hertz), impedance and the other technical specification a mic has. When u watch a review about a car, u wanna know what engine it has / hp and so on and so forth, do you? ;)
Good review, but it seemed a bit rushed, like you were racing to get through it. Also with a technical review you might want to give some specs on the device, like what is the sound threshold of it, does it handle bass as well as treble, do you need to process the sound in any way to remove back ground noise or hiss, what sort of angle does the mic give you, I know you said it records in front of it, but does that fall away the closer you are to being of centre, or is centre the best position to use it (if a person is recording more than one person in their cast).
I am not mumbo jumbo but I recommend a nylon pop filter. You could get a metal mesh pop filter (which does work better) but they are extremely overpriced for what they are
I recommend you say more downsides of the product, and talk more about the audio quality. You could also have said that all audio in this video was recorded using that microphone (because I know it is), we (the subscribers) could all figured that out probably but people that don't know you or your channel and that are just here for the review won't, and to them all of this will sound stupid. Don't get me wrong tho, it still is a REALLY good review, but those are just some points i noticed that you could work on in the future (: thx.
It's strange, when I go to your channel page I am able to subscribe... but under your videos it says "This is a paid channel that is not available in your country."
It would be nice if you had a website, because, it would be nice (of course, dumb :D). Thats the place where we can watch video playslists, contact, the 'Donate!!' button. Its not that expensive though... For your first review it was a pretty good one : ) .
he doesnt use the imac for his main computer. Thats the computer he had previously before he built his gaming machine. You can find pics of his gaming rig on his twitter
"I've had a ton of people in my
room" - Mumbo, 2014
Lenny
Please let me know what you think, tell me how to improve! Thank you :)
I loved it Mumbo! Great video :D
That was so good. You could give unbox therapy a run for his money aha
very good review mumbo keep on doing it like that
Hi mumbo, it would be great if you could include the prices next time. Thanks.

I really like the word stats around the video such as on the side of the box while the camera pans. It's such a cool effect
"I've had a ton of people in my room" was also the first thing that caught my attention.
"I've had a ton of people in my room"
Nice review, the editing was really nice and the commentary was nice. Keep it up please!
Again, Mumbo, you've created another superb piece of video artwork. Well done!
As you are looking for critique, I must say, I was a little bit disappointed that you did not mention the shock mount's quality whatsoever. In the future, you should try to give each section its own limelight. Other than that, it was a spot on review, thank you :)
I really enjoyed your review! I defiantly would not have thought that this was your first try! I would love to see more in future.

quite a nice review... great quality to the video (don't know why I would expect anything less)... short, sweet, and to the point... overall I like it
Great review, and I loved the text appearing on the box, etc., it looked so cool! :)
Your next step should be to get a Scarlett preamp and possibly a condenser. It would make the audio quality even better than it already is. Great review though. I would absolutely buy the mic if I had a real reason to.
Nice. I'm getting the Audio Technica AT-2020. Looks quite good, that.
TheMumbo awesome review, the *sound its crisp and clear*, hoping some day can get a similar mic with that quality for my own videos :)
"The studio part means it has an xlr output" This guy clearly doesn't know anything about audio.
Timo de Wit He then proceeds to run an xlr mic through a xlr-usb converter :,D
@@xamir1113x An awful, rubbish one, at that.

Talk a bit about the quality of sound and performance a bit more I would say as well. The presentation was awesome
Great review, but could you mention the price next time?
Looking forward to seeing more of these! (and the car review!)
But why didn't you post it in MumboJumbo? It's a high quality video, there's no reason to hide it!
Sorry. Extremely late, but ~$300
"I've had a lot of people in my room..." Mumbo gettin' the girls! (or boys, idk about that aspect of your life) :P

A well-made video, as usual. Good work, Oli!
"I've had a tonne of people in my room"
*Fonzie thumbs*
EHHHH
Go Mumbo.
It would be nice if you could record audio with both microphones at the same time so we could hear the difference :)
I was considering that, but I had problems with the installation for the blue yeti and it wasn't working on my PC :(
TheMumbo :/
NiceMarkMC!?
Search the web there is a video somewhere with this topic
THIS CHANNEL IS BROKEN, IT IS NOT PAID.
EVERYBODY PANIC AND COMMENT ON THE FIRST SECOND CHANNEL.
Vandelay Industries I am pretty sure that Mumbo Jumbo's first attempt at a second channel was ThingsInNutshells
I don't think he would refer to it as the second channel.
Vandelay Industries Exactly what I implied. Key words in my context that denote this: "first *attempt*" & " *a* second channel"
I don't see the advantage of pointing that out. And you don't either.
Got a blue snowball, does the job perfectly.
My dad works for Blue mics xD. Glad to see he's doing something good
Your first review is awesome
Have a happy time wifh your new microphone
It's nice, but a demonstration of a comparison between the two microphones would make it nicer.
Well edited.
Love you're review! Just when you are comparing the prices of the microphones you should have each of their costs pop up below them!
Good job Mumbo :), Maybe on the next review you could have links to the product on ebay or such.
There are links in the description
That means I am blind :)
What mic did you use to record this? I think it would have been nice to give some audio examples. Great overall though! I'm looking forward to that car review!!

Great review Mumbo :D
It's nice how you 'cut the crap' and got into the excellent review straight away!
That mic better be made of gold for that much money
A really well made review :) everything looks clean and it's informative :)
I kinda agree with some other's, the box and look of the microphone is secondary, but to do a good review you should make or comment on sound quality differences of other well known mics.
Whats up mumbo? Are you doing anymore videos on here? I love these kinds if videos and miss them :(
That was a great review! Please do more!
PERFECT PROFESSIONAL REVIEW!

Some really nice quality camera work there good job :-)
This mic Bluebird is for me of five stars.
Mumbo do more reviews u are really good at it
really nice video, and nice editing!
You should've openend the box to the right, so you could read the brand when you put the lid on top ;)
Are we looking at a Microphone, a watch or an iMac? :P
That was so professional! keep making more!
This review was absolutely brilliant! :D MKBHD should learn from your video :D
Also,i have just reviewed your review

TheMumbo what pop filter do you recommend/use?
I am not mumbo jumbo but I recommend a nylon pop filter. You could get a metal mesh pop filter (which does work better) but they are extremely overpriced for what they are
@@JGKarting Yep. Nylon ones are the cheapest. Even the ball-type (go over it) foam windscreens are twice as expensive.
Review of the review: It was freaking awesome :D
Fantastic review!
Mumbo definetly rides bmx.^^
That was short but sweet.
I'm a Blue mic user and I use the Snowball.
Very nice!
Suggestion: Don't lose the packaging next time! :P
Thank you very much for the review. Very helpful!

I use the Blue Snowball, but it is not good for a range of over 3 inches :)
Do a video about your PC and explain what you got in it.
Mumbo if you were a gamer before your youtube channel did you use a gaming headset and if you did what was it?
Blablahblah converter that I plug into my PC *shows picture of a Mac* XD
Sweet video man! Can we see some more? :)
This was awsome mumbo
that looks pretty damn awesome
At 1:32 your mouse is on the left side, are you left handed?
Good review. It is very nice microphone. (what i dident know you had an apple computter
I think the pop filter is supposed to just be a windscreen
A sound comoarison of the two would be great! And what do you think about the bue snowball
You should do a behind the scenes setup video thumbs up (like comment) if you agree
It's strange, when I go to your channel page I am able to subscribe... but under your videos it says "This is a paid channel that is not available in your country."
Funny I agree with the pop filter!
+Mike Wright LOL I saw u on mkbhd's review of the blue spark saying that u didn't like the pop filter xD
yeah they both suck
You have had a ton of people in your room and yet no girlfriend? Uh oh, Oli.
It would be nice if you had a website, because, it would be nice (of course, dumb :D). Thats the place where we can watch video playslists, contact, the 'Donate!!' button. Its not that expensive though... For your first review it was a pretty good one : ) .
I have that same pop filter its great
I suggest you get a audio interface instead of doing USB.. Your audio will be so much better!
Thanks mumbo I will buy the Yeti mic for start
By the way I love your videos keep to up!!!!!
It*
I have a cheap 12$ Trust Starzz Microphone :/
P.S. Ew iMac
he doesnt use the imac for his main computer. Thats the computer he had previously before he built his gaming machine. You can find pics of his gaming rig on his twitter
You should try the RODE NT-USB.
I think it's a very good review!
What stand are you using?
you should do parkcore on this channel
Nice editing.
Great review 10/10 :D
I would love to see more! ;P

Great video!
You reviewd the chassis and the boxing. What about the microphone?
i guess this is a mic for a crispy crystal sound...maybe for male vocalists who need extra highs...
4 videos and 17500 subscribers. Nice.
you should review the nexus 5!!!!!
The screen broke, so he can't.
