Also density. I was in high school as a WR/SS, weighed 185 when I graduated but I looked 165. Lifted to same weight as most of our lineman. Half genetics, half how you train. That’s for muscle density. Bruce Lee, prime example of muscle density at its finest.
I use to bench 300 weighing 155. Some fool try to argue that it wasnt possible. I was an advid follower of Mike Rashid. When you train with a purpose, anything is possible. Stronger lighter faster, they laughed but i outdid everybody in my platoon.
Facts!!!! I started implementing this and got the bench up to 325lbs in a cpl months from 285lbs Watching this just stamped it for me. Progressive Overload with the drop in weight then rep out with 3-4 sets of 10. Perfect benching right there! Def feel like I'ma be at 350lbs soon with this.
I’ve been training for 5 years and I finally understood the concept on “conserving” your energy just this year. Really being mindful of all factors is key and I’m the biggest I’ve been just from being strategic with my training.
These principles were created in prison. In prison we did strength, hypertrophy and shredding sets in every workout. Mike was smart enough to package this to the public

I v been working out in the gym since 2021 and got those new bee gains though I am not strong. Yet every now and then I see guys who are older than me in the gym they are smaller in terms of muscle size but have twice the strength that I have
I’ve been doing a PHUL program for the last 3 months. Power Hypertrophy Upper Lower. On power days I do heavy weight in a 5x3 set range. Last Friday I did 265 for 5 sets of 3. This coming up Friday I’ll be doing 270 for 5x3. On the last set I go to failure and I was able to get 5 reps. 3 months ago I was at 185 doing this setup and struggled hard. I was able to go up 10 pounds the next week though and did that until I got to around 245 and that’s when I started going up 5 pounds. On my Hypertrophy days for Monday I’m doing 4x12 sets with my last set to failure. Instead of flat bench I do incline bench and I just did 185 for 4x12 and 15 reps on the last set. Today I tried this pyramid and also did failure pushups between each set when I came back down the pyramid. I got up to 290 on my pyramid for 3 reps and then went down to 275 and got 6 reps. 250 for 7 reps. 225 is where I stopped going down and got another 4 sets of 10. Best damn chest workout I’ve ever done. I think I’m gonna still do my normal progressive overload on my power days but on my Hypertrophy days I’m gonna do the pyramid. Can’t wait until I’m repping 315 like it’s nothing
I’m 178lbs, my bench is 370 and my squat is about 420. I’m tryna hit 400 and 500 In 2023. I need to work on my Mobility for Squats. You got content for that Rashid?
After I do 375 I usually do forced reps at 405 or close. But your technique looks better. I'm gonna start doing it like this. I like your technique bro. Smart move
Thtz crazy wht u said i about knock out power i been doing MMA my whole life & can brench press 315lbs 10reps On Squats i can do 385lbs but only do 5 reps Deadlifts 400lbs even 3 reps 💯🙏🏽💪🏽 been knocking out ppl since 10 yrs old i combinded MMA with tryna be bodybuilder/strongman 😅
To me this one of the best methods! When I was in hs we had powerlifting coach come to our school and he taught us exactly that. And boyyyyy when I tell you!
Basically master each rep range to optimize strength and muscle size. Strength (heavy barbell compounds) is important because it also allows you to use heavier weights with dumbbells and machines for accessories. Just ask yourself, “would I be small if I’m hitting the stack on the peck deck for 15-30 reps?” It’s not likely.
I’m only 5’5 144. I can only wish to be this strong. I hit the gym 4 days out of the week and train with a natty pro. This is insane. Lol I’d probably have to take peds to hit that mass. Mad respect to mike man..
@@alantinoalantonio my cousin is a beast he won 1st place a few times. Im at my best when I lift with him. Learned a lot from him to where I can teach others.
