📖 Overview
Yonkers, located in Westchester County, New York, is rich with history and diverse character. It is situated directly to the north of the Bronx and approximately 2.4 miles north of Marble Hill, which marks the northernmost point in Manhattan. It is classified as an inner suburb of New York City, making it a vital part of the New York Metropolitan Area. It's a gateway between the bustling city and the scenic Hudson Valley. The heart of Yonkers is Getty Square, where the municipal government is located. The downtown area houses local businesses and nonprofit organizations. It serves as a major retail hub for Yonkers and the northwest Bronx. It offers access to the Hudson River, providing picturesque views and recreational opportunities. Some parks include Tibbetts Brook and Untermyer - both offering green spaces and scenic beauty. Yonkers is affectionately known as the “City of Seven Hills” due to its topography. The seven hills are Park, Nodine, Ridge, Cross, Locust, Glen, and Church Hills. Each hill contributes to the city’s unique character and scenic vistas. With its blend of urban energy, natural beauty, and community spirit, it remains a dynamic place to call home.

Such a lovely place! Thanks for sharing the wonderful walking tour! 👍
Thanks, We appreciate you for watching!😊
Downtown Yonkers is nice except for the area around Dunkin and Family Dollar. Love the waterfront and nearby restaurants.
seems they really cleaned up the Yonkers Hudson River waterfront. I grew up there in the '60s and '70s - and this was dirty and is where the winos and drug addicts hanged out - especially in this structure at 16:55 - and never stay too long.
and that's the george washington bridge in the distance at 18:36
The city did a great job 👍
