Your title reads 'How to replace oxygen sensor'? Don't you mean 'how to remove' as you didn't replace it, you just unscrewed it and screwed it back in. Are you meant to clean it or replace it if you have a problem?
Ok thanks for the clarification. I have a Yaris Verso which has high revs at startup. It calms down to normal after a few minutes or less. It just seems very high revs compared to my Yaris T Sport. What is most likely to cause this a dirty/faulty MAF or dirty throttle body or the oxygen sensor in your video? Thanks.
Hi Peter, is changing this sensor a potential fix for a P0172 (too rich) code? I've also got a P0420 catalyst code. I've put Cataclean through the tank which has made the car less juddery at lower speeds, but the management light came back on. I'll replace the MAF soon (I've already cleaned it) but I don't think that's the problem as the engine dies when I disconnect it as it should. The other thing I need to check for are vacuum leaks, I'm told, but without a smoke machine it might be difficult! Thanks for your help. This is on my 1.0litre Yaris, MPGs are lower than they should be and you can smell the rich mix of fuel when idling.
You will need to identify as a car to know the problem. Just kidding, you can use an OBD-II scanner. If not have, you can go to most auto parts that offer free scanning.
Hello! Great videos! I have a 2000 Yaris that has problems starting when the engine is warm and the car has been standing for about 30 minutes. Could this be a failing oxygen sensor or what do you think? I had the car in for service recently and they said its typical for this model of car of this age and there is nothing to do about it. I don't fully believe that is true.. Any tips or advise you can share with me? Cheers from Sweden! 👍
Your English brings me so much joy
Thanks for comment. 👍😀
