For entry level, lower priced nailers, Ryobi have always been solid. If you're not using them super often they're def a good option.

For a small shop project, or a quick repair these cordless nail guns are fine, but I'd go with the pneumatic nailers for large remodel type projects for sure. Small quick jobs yep, the cordless ones are great as you just put the nails in it, put a battery in and get to work, but for large jobs its worth the time to drag the compressor, air hose, and nail gun out I think. I've installed laminate flooring in the the house, and installed new base boards, and used the pneumatic finish nailer as I don't own a cordless one anyhow, but the larger jobs its best to just go with the tried and true tools. If all you have is a cordless nailer, sure it'll get the job done but depending on the nailer it might be a little slower at times in recovery time.

This is priced the same as the newest Dewalt FRAMING nailers were recently on sale for. It's almost a hundred bucks rich for the target DIY / homeowner market. It should be $219 and go on sale sub-200.

I have to agree with the others, the price point seems high for this tool. I generally like Ryobi. I'm not a trades person, but I do own a home and need to fix things. I don't use a tool for 8 hours every day, so I don't need to spend $$$ on a pro level tool. I think $279 for this is a bit steep for me and probably won't buy this tool, even though it seems very good. Thanks for the great review, Tom!

This might be the best on the market right now going into 2025.

Definitely Not a Pro Tool , small projects , diy , homeowner its fine just as long as you don't use it continuously , back to back to back for 30 min. or an hour straight it should be fine . One other problem is the Price , for a tool your only going to use ounce in a while it is on the High side , Pro tools do go on Sale especially this time of year , if you keep your eyes open and don't care about spending a few more bucks you can score a really good tool ... Just my 2 cents .... 👍🖖

The thing I like about RYOBI is that they kept the same battery. Instead of changing them every couple of years, my 10 year old tool has the same battery as my new one.

@patrickwhitby4171 I've been a Carpenter for over 20yrs , I restore mostly burnt houses from the ground up and we go hard and fast and the last 3 Ryobi tools I bought broke in less than 4 hours after opening the box , a brushless impact driver , their Brushed 18ga Brad Nailer and actually 2 of their New HP Brushless 18ga Brad Nailers , I exchanged the first one after it broke hoping it was a fluke but when the 2nd one broke in 2-hrs I returned it and got my Cash back . All those tools shit the bed before Noon . So I don't know what You do for work but Obviously your really Slow and the tool gets to breath in between uses or something , but Me and my men will Never buy another Crap Ryobi tool again ....
