Great video. I recently purchased the finish nailers after 25 years of my air nailers, hoses compressor and oil. I love them. Just to clarify and avoid confusion on the nail sizes, they use the standard nail sizes of 18 gauge for the brad nailer and 16 gauge, NOT 15 gauge, for the finish nailers. The 15 gauge is the framing nailer which has a 21 degree magazine.
Thanks man super comprehensive. This is exactly the video I was looking for.
Excellent video. Thank you for the detail explanation on each nailer.
This is exactly the video I was looking for. I've got an upcoming project and wasn't totally sure which one I needed.. this video helped greatly. Even better, Home Depot has the 18-gauge one on sale this weekend. Thanks so much!
You nailed it! 😊
They have a 34 degree framing nailer as well. But it's mostly sold in Australia
The biggest finish nailer you have is a 16 gauge, the 15 gauge has an angled magazine, and the nails are angled as well
Your enthusiasm is contagious! I actually have a question: have you ever had to have a ryobi tool serviced through their warranty? Are they decent about actually fulfilling the warranty or do they try to give you the runaround? I’ve actually had really good luck with my ryobi tools so far which is why I don’t know the answer to this question, but I’m considering the 23 gauge pin nailer after having a great experience with the brad nailer, and it does seem like more people experience issues with the pin nailer, maybe because of tighter tolerances with the tiny pins causing decreased effectiveness over time? Anyway, any insight you have would be super helpful!
This is a very good video. Thanks now I know which one I need.
Really great video showing different purposes. #cheers !!
I also have the 16 gauge, only other choice I saw listed was the 18 gauge, but needed one bigger for my purposes.
Just got the 16 myself as no 18 gauges avail. Not sure about it yet that thing is quite big compared to the other
Great explanation!
Great video..UK viewer.
Battery operated nailers are the best thing that ever happened to pneumatic tools.
Damn right!
Ummm no.
What are the different applications?
is the brushless 18ga version worth it?
Which battery do you recommend for the 18 gauge brad nailer for diy?
That's not the 15 gauge nailer that's the 16 gauge
Sorry
Hello What nails brand wise can be used ??
Coated, ring shank, common ?? Any restrictions ?
I want the new angle finish nailer.
Thank you
FYI / for viewer clarification: there's no such thing as a "crown stapler" - all staples have a crown (that's what makes a fastener a staple). The WIDTH of the crown (3/8", Narrow, etc) is the nominal distinction between the different staple types. Ryobi makes both a 3/8"-Crown Stapler and a Narrow-Crown Stapler; the one featured in this video is the latter. Ryobi's marketing sometimes gets this wrong as well, which is probably contributing to the confusion.
Jw, Whts the use for the crown stapler vs the brad nailer?
The dem is good but you need tonail wood to wood to see it attaches to the wood projects
helpfull
Is any of them roofing nailer
no not in Ryobi
16 ga. not 15 ga. I have both
test have been done, and 16 and 15 ga. have about the same strength.
@@georgefredericks2699
I don't doubt their fasteners holding strength is very similar when using the same length nail, as their diameters are so close.
In practice I've found the angled 15° magazine is much more maneuverable as well as being able to shoot 2-1/2" nails as opposed to 2" in 16°.
They also seem to punch slightly better especially through corner bead/metal stud e.t.c...
@@adamjames1375 I actually prefer the 15 ga. myself. I liked your video very much. I am actually a pastor and DIYer. Thank you for your video.
The 15 gauge claims to handle 2 1/2” nails. Won’t take dewalt and others, only Porter Cable which claim to be 2 1/2 but are actually shorter.
What kind of animal do you have to be to lift a 9AH battery comfortably in the HP nailer lol
No problem if you have popeye forearms
I’ve been callled a mule before
Own 15, 18, 23 ganailer. As a diyer dont need framing nailers
Difficult to see what you are showing us when you hold things up to the camera. You might want to hold it there a bit longer without moving it about so we can actually see.
Ryobi has some decent nailers, but I think it's time for Ryobi to jump the move and make them all brushless once and for good.
We are still getting "aquainted".
When you see someone using a battery powered nail gun you know you’re watching a novice.
One man's opinion. but it's often said. An opinion is like an **** Everybody has one.
@ or do they
You obviously don't know what you're talking about.
