That particular image of Bowie has been done to death, after his death, by everyone who wanted to make a quick and very easy buck.
As a Bowie fan, I'm sick of that image, it has become meaningless.

Thank you so much for your professional review of my art. I am utterly devastated that it caused you such distress. What should I do now? Perhaps I can suggest you try to forget this piece. Just play your favorite David Bowie song, close your eyes, breathe deeply, relax, and imagine an invisible eraser wiping this image from your memory.
Or maybe I have a better idea: send me your address, and I will send you a card with a reproduction of another one of my paintings from the Pop Icons series. Maybe Ziggy Stardust will be more to your liking and help alleviate your discomfort. I can even throw in an anti-nausea pill, just in case.
Additionally, I'll include a printout with the history of Pop Art. This way, the next time you decide to thoroughly review another artist, you'll know what Pop Art is, its idea, history, what it entails, where and how it draws inspiration, and the themes it chooses.
And finally, yes, this portrait, like any other of my paintings, was created for money. It's a job, like any other. I paint, someone buys. I get money and buy food from someone who produced it.
Best regards and wishing you a speedy recovery, great fan of David Bowie, who sang and composed for his own joy and fans like you completely for free.

@@vincentveeart Thank you so much for that fun comment.
How did you know I am a professional ?
Did you just guess that I'm an art historian?
Ah well, at any rate, thanks for the offers, but I will have to decline, as I already have too much Bowie stuff.
And obviously, I don't need the printout.
All of the artists I know create their art out of passion, not for financial gains - although, of course, they would appreciate the gains.
But you know what? I do like your work.
The Prince and Waterhouse paintings I saw are strong.
With Bowie, you just fell into the trap of using one of the overused photographs.
Best regards to you too - and may you become a succesful artist.
