You are such a quintessential professional, and I enjoy your teaching method. It seems that you gear it toward the beginner, which I am. I’ve made several of these cases and they say this is easy enough for a child. Well, I guess I’m a 63 year old child who spent 35 years as a professional traveling nurse. Then I became terminally ill, so I decided I’d better get something going to take my mind off pain and nausea, hence sewing was born. You wouldn’t believe how many mistakes I’ve made. I’m close to giving up, but I’m trying yours one more time. Im friends with a beautiful family that has foster children and babies. I try to make every child pillowcase, and I’m embarrassed by how they look. I hope your wonderful video helps me turn the corner. Blessings to you and those you hold close... jo
I have seen this pillow case before but i didn't understand how it was done, But i seen how u do it it was so simple thank for explaining it so clearly.
Great video! I can do this..... You are such a good teacher.... It comes naturally to you... Oh... Just ordered my third Creative Grid ruler...the 6.5in square. I also have have the Striptology, the 6.5x18.5 in rectangle, and the 9.5in. Square. I hope to order more, as my budget allowed. Thanks for turning me on the Creative Grids...
Sandy Grogg Hi Sandy! Thanks so much! I'm so glad you are enjoying your Creative Grid rulers, you know how much I love mine! I am considering the Striptology ruler, if I end up getting it I'll let you know and do a tutorial on it! Thanks again!
jmarylastone I thought it was really cool too! The pillowcases are even more wonderful once they've been washed because there are no threads because of the French seams!
You mentioned your blog...where/how do I find it? You are very good at describing techniques and reasons for them. As a new quilter, I appreciate that! I was wondering about your pins at the sewing machine. When you pin both sides of a seam to line up your points or seams, when do you remove the pins as you sew?
Barbara Aponte Barbara, you can find my blog at www.missmarkersquilts.blogspot.com. I do remove my pins just before the machine needle get to them. I try hard not to forget to remove them because every time I do forget I either break a needle or bend a pin! :)
edhunley Edhunley, I don't have a king size pillow to measure it. If you would like to measure one and send me the dimensions I'd be happy to tell you the fabric requirements for a King Size pillowcase! Thanks for watching!

how to make a 8 by 8 pillow and pillowcase ?
the French seam I know well and use it quite often but that "tube trick" is very clever - love it
