    Aimee, I looked up your video after buying similar pillowcases at my local quilt show. I was absolutely stumped as to how the top seam was done without stitches showing. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing the trick! Quilters know!!! Best wishes, MaryEllen

    I like the way of finishing the side seams, now they don't look so ragged....I followed the other video on Missouri Quilt Co as well and it does make a nice pillow case to have the top seam hidden...I made a half dozen for the challenge.,,

    How cute it would be to make a quilt label that looks like a little pillow - as 1 flat piece or as an actual pocket for a sweet note to be inserted 'open in emergency only' LOL

    I seen your beautiful unfinished quilt on the wall behind you and at your into... :) I did notice that you will have to finish your quilt w/ that dreaded "Y" seam or side set triangle. Is it possible for you all to post a tutorial on how to do this?? It would be sooo appreciated. Thank you!! :)

  • @overallquilter
    @overallquilter  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Barbara! The sleeve sits right side up, and lettering right side up as well. That should make the sleeve right once you sew it all together. Take a picture and send to us when you are finished. I'd love to see it!

    are you able to make a video showing how to attach a ruffle to a pillow top going around the corners with a serger? I was told recently that I can attach, GATHER and serge all at the same time to making a slip cover pillow. I have been playing around with my serger and I can get around three sides but when it comes to the final fourth side, I run into trouble. Would you be able to do a video showing how you do this? I would really appreciate it!

    @newbeequilter Thanks! I'm the cameraman (Marc) and I'm not a sewer/quilter (even though I'm married to one!). My perspective is from a person that is interested in learning by "looking over the shoulder" of someone that does. My passion is to provide a service to people that is truely helpful. So many howto videos are shot from a detached angle that makes it difficult to learn. Thanks again and I hope you continue to watch!

  • @MrsGranpaws
    @MrsGranpaws 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You would need to make the top - pink - piece much longer. The length of the inside fold that is normally found on pillows. An extra 6 - 8". You will then have this pocket on both the top and bottom of the pillow - makes for even wear of the sides in the long run.

    I will be making 2 different patterns of pillowcases to take to my two granddaughters in KS (I live in GA), when they're baby sister is born late May, 2013). I'm planning on making as many as I can for the Million Pillowcase Challenge. IF my local Hancock's or Joan's doesn't participate in this challenge, do you now where I can mail them to? GREAT tutorial. BTW, I use the folded method instead of the fan - I find it easier for me to keep things tidy. I didn't even notice you kept saying quilt.

    Man your pillows must be huge in America! I reckon that size pillowcase would fit 2 New Zealand standard pillows! Beautiful design though, but no inside cuff to tuck your pillow into, it would slip out.

    @overallquilter no if you do it like this the opening si wider as the length of the pillow case - shouldn't be any way to make the opening - so the side where you introduce the pillow into the case smaller ...do I make any sense? so the opening is not open all the way on the pillow case length
