It’s a carbon pack you can add, just like the m sport seats you can get that’s free/stock on m3

I never understood modding a car to the tune of $30k. For that money you can just get a M3 CS? Or a Porsche Cayman GTS. To each their own.
I have a 23 m340i but yeah I don’t think I’m gonna bother. M3 CS in 2-3 years is the plan . Maybe I’ll do an intake and m performance exhaust for the sound but that’s it
The video was posted from Malaysia. This car costs around 83k USD. GTS pork costs well over 140k USD. M3 CS was never launched in Malaysia, but there a handful imported and its even more expensive due to the exclusivity. Add in higher used car interest rates, theres your answer. At least for this context

DO NOT get a downpipe if you don’t plan on tuning the ECU. The wear and tear of turbo and engine will increase drastically yes you will get the crazy pops and bangs but it’s not worth risking your cars engine. If you want a downpipe ECU tuning is a MUST!

@@B58joaquin when you install a downpipe it changes exhaust pressure and other variables so a good tune is needed to make your car run good, and also to actually get good horsepower from the downpipe you need a tune!
I got a catless downpipe without a tune. Yes, Sounds wicked. But it doesn't increase the wear and tear of the turbo and engine DRASTICALLY. You can absolutely delay the tune a lot of time, but it is recommended to end up getting a good tune, because nothing is meant to be changed and the tune fixes that problem. Also, NEVER RUN A LOT OF POPS AND BANGS and if you are always driving for the burbles, you are frying your turbo. A custom tune for the downpipe allows you to draw all the horsepower you can and to fix any issues to make your car run good. Pops and bangs can be cool but they are what damage the turbo. The point of the tune is, however, to have a custom one when you've actually done a lot of changes you want to the car. IF your focus is only a downpipe and a tune, sure. But if your focus isn't just a downpipe, you can obviously put the downpipe, ignore the tune until you are done with the other mods, and then get everything set up. I repeat, CUSTOM TUNE IS THE WAY TO GO
@@B58joaquin the boost pressure target is never achieved with only a downpipe check it on a dyno the actual boost pressure spikes like crazy that happens because the downpipe allows higher flow of exhaust gases which sends irregular reading to the ecu. The Ecu shuts down the boost spike creating upto of 5 psi pressure which destroys the turbo Check it on a dyno.
@@tonkata1234 That’s kinda true, what you said was basically getting a custom tune over a normal tune, you can delay it as long as you don’t throw the car around but if you’re getting just a downpipe for the sound enhancement it will increase the wear and tear of turbo if the vehicle is thrown around and that’s what I said don’t get a DP if you aren’t planning on getting a tune.

Yes it will, you have to get a tune to code out the light. Also your warranty will be voided with Dow pipes.
You can clear with jb4 is it healthy for the engine to run down pipes with jb4?@@namansinghh

So in one part you mentioned the warranty will not be effected, then towards the end you note it possibly will but worth it. Perhaps some sort of rehab is in order for you. Good luck with getting off the gear.
many of these items will for sure void at least certain aspects of the warranty
@@ryankd27 As an owner of one of these I shared this video with the service manager at my local BMW dealership. Let’s just say he and then his team were laughing at the very thought of someone doing this, having a problem and bringing it in under warranty for repairs if something went wrong.

Absolutely does. Unless you have a decent relationship with your dealer. Or switch out to stock before any dealer visits.

Just a little too busy/ricey looking imo. I'd drop the wing, keep the ducktail only. Canards also look out of place, as it's not a race car (maybe my taste is maturing). Love the color and rest of the body kit though! Gorgeous wheels too. Intake is definitely a must, even if it robs you of a pound or 2 of torque. The sound is well worth it.
Here's my little recommendation for people on the budget for some quick, cheap, and easy gains: BMS Intake + charge pipe (under $500 total), Active Autowerke downpipe (high flow catted one that won't throw any CELs is $1500, or $400 for a no-cat one if you want a couple more HP, volume, smell, and CEL problems), and a simple piggyback like JB4 ($600), though of course it doesn't come close to a proper flash tune.
do u think its good for the engine and turbos running downpipes with the jb4 and not a real tune? might be going this route but dont want to damage anything

Might as well just buy a M3C at this point. Never gonna get your money back on the mods and the M3C is more performance off the lot. Sure, you add the MPerformance bits to the M but you'd need to buy less of them.

Why not use the $30k spent on mods and buy a M3 or M4?
1) M3 or M4 is way more expensive then extra $30k, over here at least
2) Modding and personalizing your car is part of the fun of owning these cars.
@@AJDrives after fees, taxes, it’s not that much cheaper. I see the fun in the process of modding the car but $30K towards a M3 or M4 makes more sense to me.

Yeah, “a great investment for the long term”? No. As some as you modify the engine then good luck with BMW and the now defunct warranty. Not a single manufacturer will support any warranty claims when you go anywhere near the mods you have done. I think a reality check is in order for you. A simpler engine mod to improve performance and fuel economy doesn’t require an ECU flash as a piggy back system will work.
Another xdrive so it not BMW anymore it a Audi 👍
