That’s what I love about Stargate. The story started when Humanity was defenseless and even primitive relative to the other races. Slowly building up until humanity is has a fighting chance.

@@Drago_Whooves True and true. I'd still maintain that the Super Hive is still the strongest in a battle, since a nuke inside a 304 would destroy it. A nuke inside an ancient ship is a lot more complicated to figure out
@@tardarsauce3355 Typically ships don't have armour or shields inside. They do however have life support atmospheres inside so a nuke will destroy almost anything from the inside. Outside in space without atmosphere, maybe not so much.

In the episode where the replicators took over Thor's ship and were flying it to Earth they had to place an explosive charge on the outside of the hull because of dampener fields that would mitigate internal explosions. Not sure if that would stop a nuke but given we saw the same ship NOM a bunch of Jaffa and several mothership landing platforms its really up in the air just what its capabilities were.

They had one ship, that ship took a sensor readings which enable them to developed weapons and shields to allow the tauri to stand toe to toe with the Ori.

Yes, they have powerful warships that can destroy almost any other ship in the known universe 1on1, but if they are caught in a war of attrition, they will likely lose. Building one of those ships takes almost a year for them. Even with the Chinese building one on their own as well, they get to two in a year. So, if the Tauri would fight the Wraith in a similar situation as the Ancients 10.000 years ago, they would probably lose as well. The Ori are a different story because they were fighting a different kind of warfare. The Wraith come with numbers. Replenishing one base ship is nothing for them - and they field insurmountable numbers of darts. The Ori don't really have fighters (the ones they used transported rings, so they are probably not the best for dogfighting, rather troop support for ground combat). And good luck recruiting fighter pilots from your medieval people, while the other side has thousands of Jaffa and a lot of trained human fighter pilots piloting Death Gliders and F-302. And aside from those fighters, the Ori only have their large motherships, that focused on forward weaponry, with the secondary weaponry not that powerful. If the Tau'ri had 5 Deadlus-classes equipped with Asgard Lasers, they could've probably decimated the Ori navy with hit&run attacks. With the drone-chair on Earth, powered by a ZPM, Earth would've been save against low numbers of motherships. Needless to say, the Asgard decided to blow themselves up at the worst time. They had just developed a weapon capable of destroying Ori-motherships. And they likely had a dozen or more Oneill-class ships, that they could easily refit with those weapons. The first time in 10.000 years they can actually field their superior technology in larger numbers and they decide to just blow themselves up and take everything with them - even giving 1 or 2 refitted Oneill-class ships to the Tau'ri would've helped. Thor showed that you only need one guy to fly an Asgard ship. With some tweaking, they could've probably made an interactive ship computer capable of executing voice commands. So, at the end of this rant: The Tau'ri successfully fought two or three wars at the same time, with inferior numbers and inferior technology, against a race of ascended beings, against the race that defeated the Ancients and against ancient-created human-form replicators, working with ancient technology. And that just 10 years after they stopped living on trees and being hunters and gatherers, knowledge and technology-wise. No wonder the US military liked the show.
What?! Stargate is the show where we see literally everything’s origin. We know how they made the floor and the paint on their ships, for cryin’ out loud.
@@SchneeflockeMonsoon I think he meant where the beam shoots out from. We never really see what weapon system shoots the beam looks like. We don't know if it's a rotating turret like Star Wars or omni directional like Star Trek.
@@bountyhunter2306 We can see the forward emitters are those long shafts along the side of the neck, and on the close ups we can see a sphere there. The main gun (which only the Daedalus seems to have) is magic and fires from midair I guess.

I've seen all of Atlantis, and I believe that this ZPM-Powered Hive ship is the single most powerful vessel seen in the show
It almost beat Atlantis with 3 ZPMs , though it was taken down by a single nuke

Super Hive is much more resistant to the Plasma Beam weapon. It has a ZPM.

Not seeing the aftermath makes the weapon seem kinda useless....
The weapon was kind of useless. In this particular episode they are shooting at a ZPM powered Hive Ship. The plasma beam barely made a scratch.

I do not believe the Asgard sent any ships when the aurai came through the supergate because they would have had those beams which they didn't.
I thought the Asgard had blown their planet and themselves to bits by then.
There was 1 Asgard Ship at the Battle of the Supergate.
However, the Asgard developed the beams after that battle as a weapon against the Ori.
